It is with a heavy heart that I have to officially announce the Ultimate Arena big update cancelled.
I regret to inform you that due to a lack of commitment from two of the developers it is no longer possible to continue developing content for the game.
A very difficult decision was made by me to completely halt development, since the key people who were supposed to be working on the project aren't able to do so anymore.
The process of working on the big update was rocky and inconsistent and I was looking at a drawn out process which in the best case scenario would have ended with a bare-bones build consisting of only one level.
Simply put, there was a lot of work to be done and precious little time to be spared.
On a personal note, I am extremely disappointed in this turn of events and did everything in my power to keep the project alive despite the drawbacks.
Sadly it wasn't meant to be, and I don't have the means to work on the project alone.
I would like to offer my most sincere apologies to everyone who, like me, was waiting for the update to arrive.
The current version of Ultimate Arena will remain of Steam and can still be played via "Host Game", so nothing has changed in that regard.

What's coming to Ultimate Arena
Hello ultimarines,
While we may have been somewhat quiet during the past months, we've been tirelessly working under the hood to bring you the largest update to Ultimate Arena yet. Here is a list of some of the things you can expect:
Graphical rework of game levels (initially only Hall will be included)
New character animations
New character models
Reworked weapon models and textures
User Interface overhaul
Reworked particle effects
New HUD
New lobby system
Additional sound effects
... and more.
Since we are few and we are working on the game in our free time, it's impossible to say how long it will take to complete, and it would be dishonest to give you an estimate right now. All of this work takes plenty of time and effort to finalise and that is why, as mentioned above, only a rework of Hall will be included with the first update, with more levels to come later on.
Working on something like this is a huge undertaking for a small team like ours, thus we hope that you will enjoy what we have in store for you.
