We're asking you to send us your festive holiday and/or wintery custom levels in Ultimate Chicken Horse before Dec 8! We’ll pick 15 community-made levels and feature them in the game for everyone to see and play.
Need some inspiration for your level? Try these! - Winter wonderland: Snow, snowmen, snowflakes, skating, igloos, sleds/toboggans, holiday villages/markets - Holidays: Santa, presents, outdoor lights, Christmas trees, reindeer, elves, stockings, menorahs, dreidels - Festive foods: Gingerbread, candy canes, hot chocolate, turkey, plum pudding, fruit cake - New years: Fireworks, celebrations, sparkles, stars, gold - Plus anything else that you think fits!
How do I make and submit a level? - To make a custom level, go to the Treehouse lobby. Open the pause menu and click the arrows to change your game mode from "Party Mode" to "Free Play Mode". Then go to the underground area of the Treehouse and move to the left to the "Blank Level" section. Now you can make a level, Party or Challenge!

Hi everyone! It's the annual Steam Awards and Ultimate Chicken Horse can be nominated in the "Labor of Love" category!
It's been nearly 8 years of screwing over your friends in our silly party game. There's definitely been some labor (free content updates with new characters, maps, blocks, music, features, etc.), and we definitely still love it!
We held a Halloween/Autumn build event where we asked players to build custom levels in Ultimate Chicken Horse and submit them to us for a chance to be featured in-game!
We received over 100 level submissions in the last two weeks, which made it very difficult to pick just 15 of them! Thank you so much for participating. 🧡

We want to feature your spooky Halloween/Autumn-themed custom levels in Ultimate Chicken Horse! So build and send us your custom levels, and we’ll pick 15 community creations to feature in the game.
Submit your levels to us by publishing your level and sharing the level code in the Steam comments by 11 PM PST on October 16. It can be a Party or Challenge level.

You can play Ultimate Chicken Horse for FREE from Sept 7-11! It's the best time to play if you need a game for a party night, just want to try it out, or want to introduce friends to it! Plus, we're running a big 55% off sale from Sept 7-14.
Ultimate Chicken Horse fully supports crossplay, so you can play with anyone who has it on console. Also, there's local play and online play, shared controller functionality, challenge mode, gameplay modifiers, a custom level builder, and community-made levels.

How do I play for free?
- Go to the Ultimate Chicken Horse store page. - Click the "Play Game" button, which will download the game and add it to your Steam library. - Find the game in your Steam library. You'll be able to play until the end of the free weekend (Sept 11 at 1PM PST)!

Lobby invite codes are changing! Save your code now
Hey party animals!
In an upcoming update, we're going to change how invite codes for players' lobbies work in Ultimate Chicken Horse.
Currently, your invite code stays the same no matter what. In the upcoming update (a few weeks from now), you'll have the ability to generate a new invite code every time you host a lobby, or save your invite code so that it stays the same between games.
❗❗❗❗ Right now, you can SAVE your current invite code if you like it and want to keep it. Otherwise, this invite code will be WIPED once the update comes out. ❗❗❗❗ But if you don't care about your lobby code, there's no action to take. 🐔👍
How do you SAVE your lobby invite code?
- Open Ultimate Chicken Horse, press "Play Online" and host a lobby. - When in-game at the Treehouse, open the pause menu and click "Lobby". - Click on the **** to reveal your 4-letter code. - If you want to save your code for future games, click the checkbox to "Freeze Invite Code". Your code will stay the same until you uncheck the box (and the new update is released).

Server improvements, voting system changes, updated OST, and QoL changes!
Hello everyone! We’re back after a few months of work on Ultimate Chicken Horse with version 1.10.06 on all platforms.
We addressed several server issues that came up during the Shellebration Update, changed how voting works on community-made custom levels, and added a new song to the OST. Plus some other minor changes.
After the Shellebration Update, we had more players online than ever before. (Wow, thank you!) However, our servers were not prepared for the sheer number of people enjoying the game. This resulted in players experiencing many server desync issues like endless loading screens, getting stuck in the party box, placed blocks not showing up, and lobbies randomly shutting down.
We’ve just completed a server refactor to address these desync issues and prevent them from happening in the future. It also gives us the ability to add more servers to high traffic regions whenever we have a big influx of new players. :)
We also addressed a country-wide connection issue for players in Korea. As of today, everyone in Korea should be able to connect and play online again! Thank you for your patience and bug reports - there were many Korean players who helped us solve the problem by sending us their player logs. ❤️
If you experience any server issues or bugs, please report them to the developers in the Ultimate Chicken Horse Discord.
Downvotes removed from custom levels
We removed downvotes from the voting system for custom/community-made levels!
Downvotes were not being used in a way that was useful or kind to our community, which warranted their removal. If you don’t enjoy a level, you now have the choice to upvote it or ignore it. (Note that you can still report levels that break our community rules!)
Ultimate Chicken Horse OST
The game’s soundtrack just got a new song! It now has the “Shellebration” track which plays during the Metro level.
Quality of life changes
We received feedback that the game's initial volume was too loud, so we reduced it by 20%. (Now the Horse noise is less of a jumpscare!)

Solution for crossplay issue between PC and consoles
Hi everyone, there's an issue with crossplay between PC and consoles! However, there is a temporary solution, so please read below!
We just released a new update on Steam/PC to fix various server issues, including a serious connection bug for players in Korea. Crossplay was impacted because our console platforms have not yet received the same update, creating a game version mismatch. Thankfully, there's a solution if you really want to play together with your console pals!
Temporary solution for crossplay between PC and consoles
If you're a PC player and want to play with your console friends, you just need to switch to our Steam beta branch for Ultimate Chicken Horse.
To do this, right-click Ultimate Chicken Horse in the Steam Library. Go to properties, open the "Betas" tab, and select the "crossplay-1.10.05 - Old build with console crossplay" version from the dropdown menu. Restart your Steam if the game doesn't update automatically. Just remember to switch back to "None" in the Betas tab if you want to play with people on the newest build of the game.
Note that this WILL NOT WORK if you are in Korea - this is due to server problem that's been affecting this entire region, and only the newest build fixes it.
If you're experiencing problems with getting crossplay to work with this solution, please just join the Ultimate Chicken Horse Discord, and the moderators will help you out there.
