Today Playtests are over and have been turned off - but don't worry, it's not over! You will read some exciting news below but first...
Playtest Survey
Reading your numerous comments and posts, we have prepared a FINAL, general survey in which we have added, according to your requests, sections where you can evaluate specific fishing mechanics - float fishing, ground fishing, or spinning.
If you want to help us and influence the development/improvement of the game - we encourage you to fill in the questionnaire.
As in the previous polls, this one will also select 10 players who will receive free codes for the full version.
The winners of all surveys will be selected and notified by e-mail before the game's premiere.

UFS2 Playtest - Week 4 | Jackson + Курильское озеро
Hello everyone, a bit late but we are launching WEEK 4 and a new map - Курильское озеро! It's a volcanic lake in the Asian part of Russia, on the southern tip of Kamchatka. Located in the caldera between the Ilinskij and Kambalnyj volcanoes. The number of fish in the lake ranges from 260,000 to over 6 million. Kurile Lake is the largest one in Asia. The map is based on backwaters and river basins around Курильское озеро.

Patch Notes Version 0.4.29p
FIXES:
We removed the fishing line consumption after each cast. Since this update fishing line should be consumed when you will catch a fish, after changing baits or when you will lose fish.
Adjusted amount of experience per fish.
We have added the missing unit conversion onHUD (leader length, depth, distance).
Other minor fixes.
ADDITIONALLY:
PROBABLY fixed the FPS drops - we need to confirm it (your feedback matters here).
PROBABLY fixed the problem with updating tasks, but we are not sure if it will work for everyone.

For the last few months, we have been working on store, items and many more things! So here is how the store looks now!
GAME MODES
So like in the first version you will be able to choose between 2 game modes! Normal and realistic.
Normal mode is the best for new players or ones who just like to catch PLENTY of fish without wasting their time.
Realistic - this one will be most likely hard. Fish bait-ratio will be on a much lower level and fish will give better fights, so controlling line tension and reel break will be really important. Additionally, some features aren't available in this mode e.g., underwater camera, bite alarms, teleport, and weather changing capabilities). Has separate rankings.
Sandbox - this mode will be added in the future. It will unlock everything in the game without the possibility to level up, earn in-game cash, and participate in leaderboards or rankings.

UFS2 Playtest | Content Preview 1/3
Hello everyone, In the beginning, we would like to apologize that we didn't post anything for a long time. We are all here, alive....we were just engrossed in work, focused mainly on fixing bugs and balancing the game over the last few weeks (which will not be fully possible without your participation in the tests).

Thanks to the commitment of the Quality Assurance team and our dev team, we have made a lot of corrections and improvements over the last weeks, some of which are still being done.
Okay, I don't want to bore you anymore. Let's move on to the Playtests details.
WHEN?
Around 20-25 April. The date will be confirmed around April 6th, so take keep an eye out for "Content Preview 2/3".
HOW LONG?
About 4 weeks. We will roll out weekly updates. Each week one map will be changed for a new one, so you will be able to test a few of them. The current schedule looks like this:
Week 1: Jackson (USA) + Zalesie (Poland)
Week 2: Jackson (USA) + Slovakia
Week 3: Jackson (USA) + Kiel Canal (Germany)
Week 4: Jackson (USA) + Russia/Ukraine
BETA FORUM
As some of you may know, and some don't - Playtest users have access to the special Steam community forum where you can post anything related to the game.
What to do when you occur any problems or would like to share your feedback?
Take a few screenshots or record a video;
Create a new thread in the UFS2 Playtest forum;
Describe your problem or write down your feedback;
If you think it should be done in a different way - post your idea;
Publish your post.
Don't be scared of posting negative feedback but it will be much more helpful if you could describe what you didn't like or is done wrong in your opinion. We will be grateful for constructive answers.
SURVEYS
We will also run a more complex survey than ever. And here I am asking you about one thing - should we have 4 surveys, one per "week" or just a complex one starting Week 4?
You will be able to:
Rate game UI/HUD/SFX*;
Rate gameplay;
Rate graphics*;
Rate 3D aspects (equipment, fish models, etc.);
Describe what you did or didn't like;
Add your feedback with your proposal of content or what is missing.
So - you already know the Jackson map but it has changed, especially in terms of fish species that you will be able to catch there.

Zalesie (Poland) is a typical water reservoir in Poland. Not the deepest lake, in the middle of the woods with some characteristic species for this region.

Bear in mind that some fish species may be bigger or smaller if they are present on a few maps. For example, Rainbow trout reach max. 9.3 kg on Jackson and 14kg in Slovakia! So watch out for your lines.
EQUIPMENT
You will be able to use dozen of Rods, Reels, Lines, Lures, Baits, and more! AND there will be even more equipment for the Early Access release, so if you find that for ex. LURES behave strangely or there is something wrong with any of them just drop us feedback and we will try to change it!

Good morning, Good afternoon, or Good evening - depending on timezone! ;)
I am coming here with great news! Steam Playtest is now open for opt-ins! So if you would like to take part in beta tests just press the button visible on the main page! CLICK HERE
As we are not sure if the changes we made were good and players will enjoy them we will run Steam Playtest for about 1500 players.
Everyone will be able to opt-in. I don’t know yet how we will approve player requests but we will just choose people from all opt-ins. Additionally, we will manually grant access to players that were active on our Steam forums :)
Additionally – there will be a HUGE survey and players who will complete it will take a part in the giveaway of:

We want to make sure that the game we develop was done properly. We won’t be able to satisfy everyone but we will do our best to listen to the community and do regular surveys about future updates.
When does it start?
Playtest will be run somewhere in February (or the end of January). We don't want to say the final date, as you already noticed - we have some developmental delays and we just want to give you the most up-to-date build with polished gameplay and free from bugs game (at least from most of them).
So...you will be able to opt-in for at least 2 months.
Once Playtest build will be ready, we will post separate news about it.
