Devlog #11 - Coalitions
In this devlog we will look more in depth at how our main short term progression system works.
Throughout the game, players encounter "Power Ups" that enhance their character's skillset with new abilities and opportunities. In UMC, these are known as "Aspects"; thematically, each Aspect belongs to a group called a "Coalition," named after different species of wild cats. Currently, we are introducing three Coalitions:
Cheetah (Speed, Lightning)
Jaguar (Critical, Dodge)
Tiger (Damage, Bleed)
Each Coalition loosely adheres to the nature of its namesake cat and introduces corresponding effects to enhance this fantasy (indicated in brackets next to the Coalition names).
Aspects come in three rarity levels (Common, Rare, Epic). Each increase in rarity unlocks additional effects that the upgrade can activate (up to 2 additional effects at Epic rarity). The rarity levels are as follows:
Additionally, each Aspect has up to three ranks, with each rank providing higher numerical values for the unlocked Aspect effect. For example:
Rank 1 - Primary attack deals 5 damage
Rank 2 - Primary attack deals 10 damage
Rank 3 - Primary attack deals 15 damage
This approach gives another little dimension to the Aspects' progression and extends it slightly to have more variation.
Aspects in a single Coalition are divided into three categories:
Slotted Aspects
Passive Aspects
Ultra Aspects
Slotted Aspects These can be “inserted” into the range of “slots” tied to the different actions that players can take during the playthrough.
The list of slots is as follows:
On Primary Attack - the applied upgrade activates its effect while using Primary Attack.
On Secondary Attack - the applied upgrade activates its effect while using Secondary Attack.
On Ability Used - the applied upgrade activates its effect while using any Ability.
Banner Aura - Upon killing the first enemy in any given room, Banner is spawned, which provides passive benefits to everyone in its radius.
On Critical Hit - the applied upgrade activates its effect while Critical Hit is executed on an enemy.
Passive Aspects Passive Aspects are what the name implies - passive bonuses that are always active and don’t occupy any particular slot.
Ultra Aspects Ultra Aspects are another type of passive ability that is scarce and powerful. Since their power is usually game-changing, they are limited to a maximum of 2 per run, and at the moment, they can’t be replaced.
To give some context - here are some Tiger Aspects you can choose to use : .
On Primary Attack - Aftermath - Your Primary attacks have 10% chance to inflict Bleed status.
On Secondary Attack - Tiger’s Revenge - Your secondary attacks deal 15% of enemy missing HP as extra damage.
On Ability Cast - Scorched Earth - After Using ability you get you 5% dmg bonus for 5s
Banner Aura - Banner of Fury - Spawn a Banner in the spot of first killed enemy in each room that grants 5% additional Base Damage to eveoryone in radius of (16) meters.
On Critical Attack -Ring of Blood - Your Critical Hit has 30% more chance to inflict Bleed status.
Passive - Fangs of Flame - All your attacks create small explosion dealing 30% splash damage to every enemy within 5 meter radius.
Ultra - Welcome to the Jungle - If there are more than 4 enemies nearby your damage is increased by 175%.

Devlog #10 - M.O.Ds are here
Hi everyone! 🐈
🐾In UMC, we have two types of progression - short and long progression to ensure players' engagement on all layers of fluffy accomplishment. 🎯
Today we will look into main long term progression system which we call M.O.D🛠️
🔧 This acronym translates into “Mythical Optimization Device.” M.O.Ds are the most endgame-oriented pieces of progression, allowing players to alter and customize every ability of every character in the game.
Each character's ability has three slots ready to be populated with M.O.Ds. Based on the slot takeup of the M.O.D rarity, the player can mix and match different combinations to adjust the ability workings to his liking. This flexible approach doesn’t imply that the Legendary M.O.Ds will be the strongest. Of course, Legendary ones will significantly impact how the ability behaves. Still, there may be occasions where Epic + Rare combo will be more suitable for some, and it’s up to the players to decide.
So let’s take a look into some of the most fun MODs our feline heroes can unlock and use to bring a lot of mayhem into your runs.
🗡️ Kagero’s Katana Slash ability ability can be upgraded for example with Hyperstep Inscription - this Rare MOD makes taking care of enemies with Katana even more deadly and fun as it recovers Kagero’s Dash ability instantly after using Katana Slash. It enables to instantly move from one enemy to another before they realise what hit them. ⚡
🔫 BBKAT main weapon is Machine Gun and it’s a lot of fun. But my acquiring Mighty Rocket GunLegendary MOD you can ramp up the fun even more. Why shoot with Bullets if you can shoot with Rockets ? Mighty Rocket Gun reduces recoil and fire rate of Machine Gun but it shoots rockets instead that deal Direct and Splash damage.
🎯 Clint is gunslinger supreme but you can choose to make him even more supreme with Deadeye Focus which Increases the damage of the last bullet in each revolver’s chamber, encouraging precise, deliberate shots.
But those are only examples and tip of an iceberg. Each hero will have 35 different MODS that you unlock to find your favorite combinations.

Devlog #9 - Co-op explained
Hey Catventurers! 🐱💥
We know many of you might enjoy taking on Ultra Mega Cats solo — customizing your heroes, unlocking new Coalitions, and discovering powerful builds. And yes, the game is absolutely playable and enjoyable in single-player mode.
But today, we want to spotlight the fur-ocious fun of co-op gameplay. Because sometimes, the only thing better than saving the world as a Mega Cat… is doing it with friends.
🧑🤝🧑 Up to 3 Players Online Co-op
Grab up to two friends and dive into chaotic, cat-fueled action together! Every session supports up to three players. Whether you're coordinating strategies or just unleashing mayhem, co-op adds a whole new layer of excitement (and yarnballs) to every run.
🧪 Mix and Match Your Squad
Want to run a trio of BB-Kats? Go for it. Three Clints? Why not. Any combination of characters is fair game — experiment with your favorite setups and discover unexpected synergies between your feline fighters.
🧠 Team-Based Tactics (and Shenanigans)
Our heroes have abilities that complement each other beautifully in co-op. A few examples:
Shielded Stealth: Hide Kagero behind BB-Kat’s sturdy shield, letting her strike safely from the shadows.
Focus Fire Bait: Let Clint soak up enemy attention while BB-Kat unleashes Yarnball chaos from the flank.
These are just a taste — Ultra Mega Cats is full of creative combos waiting to be discovered.
🐾 Coalitions That Shine in Co-op
Coalitions are a key part of progression in Ultra Mega Cats, and some shine even brighter with a full team. Check out these co-op-ready Coalition abilities:
Cheetah’s Aura of Grace Deploys a banner with a speed-boosting aura. The higher the rarity, the bigger the boost — and it affects your whole team.
Jaguar’s Paws of Rage With epic rarity, this skill spawns milk bottles that any friendly cat can grab. Collect one, and you reset all cooldowns for everyone.
Tiger’s Ring of Blood Bleed your enemies en masse with one cat, then tag in a teammate to finish them off in a frenzy of claws and coordination.
🧩 The Combo Potential is Off the Charts
Beyond Hero skills and Coalition powers, there are MODS, vending machine upgrades, and more — all of which can be shared or synergized in co-op runs. And remember: the more cats in the fight, the tougher the enemies become. So teamwork (and clever builds) are key!
Whether you're a lone cat warrior or part of a synchronized squad of furballs, we can’t wait to see the wild strategies and hilarious moments you’ll come up with.

Devlog #8 - Rabbit Shooter
Hey everyone! 💥
We’ve been teasing some big trouble coming to Machineland, and it's finally time to reveal the newest threat our feline heroes will face. Say hello (but maybe don’t get too close) to the Rabbit Shooters – the iron-fisted enforcers of Theodore’s army!
These mechanical monsters are more than just big bunnies with bad attitudes. They’re the muscle guarding the deadliest corners of Machineland, and they’re ready to stomp, shoot, and blast anything that crosses their path... including you. 😼💣
Are our Cats ready to take them on? Here's a breakdown of what they’ll be up against:
🧨 Shooting Barrage – Duck and Weave, or Get Wrecked!
The Rabbit Shooter takes a knee and locks in with deadly precision. Then—bam bam bam—he fires 7 consecutive projectiles from his massive arm cannon. Each shot packs serious heat, so dodging is crucial!
⚠️ Pro tip: Wait for the reload! Once he's out of ammo, he’s vulnerable for a few seconds while he reloads. That’s your window to strike.
🦿 Heavy Stomp – Watch the Ground!
The Rabbit charges up his hydraulic legs and launches into a mechanical leap. When he lands—BOOM—a shockwave ripples out and deals area damage.
💥 Stay mobile, keep your eyes on his trajectory, and jump out of that danger zone before your whiskers get singed!
💣 Detonating Paws – Rocket Rain Incoming!
In his most devastating attack yet, the Rabbit Shooter raises a paw to the sky and unleashes a flurry of rockets. Each missile locks onto your location, landing with a marked warning spot before impact.
🔥 Each blast deals both direct and splash damage, so even near-misses can hurt. Use your reflexes
🐾 Are Your Cats Ready?
Facing a Rabbit Shooter will be a test of reflexes, timing, and teamwork. These encounters are meant to push your skills to the limit and reward those who fight smart — not just fast.
We'll be watching closely to see how you all handle these fluffy behemoths. And who knows... maybe a few secrets are hidden behind their steel-plated armor. 👀
Stay sharp out there, and as always —
Scratch back hard, Cats. 🐾
— The Dev Team 💙
Devlog #7 - Koala Ballerina
Today we would like to present an enemy that has been added to Ultra Mega Cats along the way.
Once our feline heroes manage to defeat Rat King - Machineland’s boss Theodore sends his most elite troops to stop Kagero, BBKat and Clint from reaching him.
Koala Ballerina
Koala Ballerinas are the most deadly of Theodore’s army. Fast, agile they wreak havoc against anything and anyone who dares to oppose Machineland’s chef. Our cats will have pawns full of work against as they can deploy several battle techniques against them:
Cyclone Pirouette The koala spins with laser swords and heads spread out, moving fast toward the player. She is invulnerable during spinning.
Lighting Laceration Ballerina charges rapidly at the player, trying to slash them with its laser swords.
Razor Tempest Cross Sends 4 large projectiles in the form of an “X” towards the player, one after another. Projectices fly in a straight line towards the player.
