Post-release updates (we heard you on the Tomfoolery and Reactor modules)

A massive thanks to all of you for your support and continued feedback: we're constantly reading and discussing what you guys have to say, and it's proved invaluable in shaping the updates over the past few days and the updates to come.

Of particular importance for many of you will be the changes we've made to the Tomfoolery and Reactor modules; coming across these in your run should now be a far less brutal (and potentially fatal) experience. And to the OGs who endured the launch version of the Reactor, wear your scars with pride.

You can find today's changelog below, along with the previous two in case you missed them. And as ever, you're more than welcome to join us in the Discord.

Uncle Chop's Rocket Shop is released!

Hey there! Beard Envy here.

Well, today’s the day. Uncle Chop’s Rocket Shop has now been released and is available to exchange for a reasonable sum of currency, as is customary.

It’s been a wild few years getting here and the fact that it’s out there in people’s hands now doesn’t feel quite real. In some ways, it’s felt like a private little fever dream, so the fact that you folks are sharing in it now is wonderful and strange and viscerally terrifying.

Sincerely, we hope you like it. We’ve poured our hearts into this project, so more than anything we’d love to know that we brought you folks a neat experience. It’s all we’ve ever wanted for it. So, if you picked it up, just know that we’re grateful beyond words. A looming, cosmic kind of grateful. The kind that might send you mad if you made eye contact with it for too long.

Hmm.

Anyhow.

I want to give a heartfelt shoutout to all the peeps who played the demo and gave us feedback and suggestions. It was completely invaluable in shaping the game as it stands and we couldn’t have done it without you. If you did play the demo, we hope that you feel we listened and that you enjoy all of the changes we made at your behest. You helped us a ton, and we think you’re pretty cool for that.

For anyone interested, we’ll be doing a modest release stream this Saturday (7th) at 7pm GMT. You should come hang out with us and we can talk shop about the game. Maybe lowball us a few questions and tell us about your experience? Yeah. Yeah, that sounds nice.

Also, please consider dropping in on our Discord. You can leave those burning questions in advance, assimilate into the community or just post goofy things for us to muse over. The possibilities are limited and predictable.

Alright, nerds. Signing off then. Catch you at the weekend and have a blast fixing spaceships (or other valid stuff) in the little world we built.

Much love,

Aaron, Ben & Jo
xoxo

This thing? Oh, it's just our launch trailer.

Always thinking outside of the box, we decided to make a special trailer to mark Rocket Shop's launch.

It's like our previous trailers, but this time we forced a middle-aged guy we found on the internet to record himself drinking beer and saying profanities in a southern American accent (our thanks to the very talented Scott Fortney). Check it out.
