Director’s Letter Vol. 15

I'm Seong Seop Song, the director of UNDECEMBER.
We would like to inform you more about the drop balance adjustments.
We are aware of the current situation where many of Rune Hunters are expressing opinions regarding Essence, and we believe this is caused mainly because of the drop balance adjustments made in the Nov. 7 update.
Even though we tried to inform you about the drop balance adjustments in the previous Director's Letter before the update, we felt the need to provide a more detailed explanation on the balance adjustments since it is core game content that is important for all users.
In the previous season 5, an issue occurred where much more Divine and Ancient Essence were dropped than our intention, and while we first concluded that we adjust the drop chance as soon as possible, we have not changed the rate during the season 5 to avoid any confusion that such mid-season change may bring about, since the Divine and Ancient Essence were first introduced in season 5. However, our initial understanding maintained that the unintended drop balance was going to harm the stable service in the future, and thus we have adjusted the drop chances of Tickets and amount of drops based on the Hard Mode difficulty in the Season Re:Birth update, which led to confusion among Rune Hunters due to insufficient notice in advance.
Besides, we have been introducing new content with a higher chance of occurrence while lowering the chance of occurrence of the content introduced in other seasons after the season's end.
For example, the 'Ancient Being Purification' event which occurred throughout the previous season became a randomly occurring event in Season Re:Birth. We feel that we have not informed you enough about how the season content is operated, and that the amount of obtained items provided from the content will decrease as the chance of the content occurring lowers.
For the Chaos Statue, we have implemented a feature to definitely activate the previous season's content, the process of manual activation may feel cumbersome to Rune Hunters, leading to feeling much less likely to play the seasonal events. We would like to also mention that the convenience improvement for this feature will be made in future seasons.
As we explain more details about the drop balance adjustments, we understand that Rune Hunters may feel greater difference in the adjusted drop rates, we will work on a variety of ways to provide them in the game.
Additionally, since we have heard a lot of voices regarding the price of Divine and Ancient Essence in Disassemble Shop, we are working to prepare an adjustment for it in the next season, which will lower the prices of items including Divine and Ancient Essence.
We will make sure to provide detailed information regarding significant updates and patches in the future.

1. Server Patch Schedule: Nov. 14 (Thu) 11:00 (UTC+9) * The server patch will proceed without maintenance. * The game will therefore be available to play while the server patch is underway.
2.
