We know it’s been a while since you have heard from us, and when an indie studio goes silent, it can be a little scary. Will there be any more updates? Are the developers okay? Has the game been abandoned? These are reasonable questions to have. Well, we are here to assure you that we are fine and development is still going smoothly.
The reason we have been so quiet is that we are now going through the final major phase of development. Finalising and polishing the main storyline in order to give the most satisfying journey and ending; as well as porting work (You may remember Undying was featured in the latest NINTENDO INDIE WORLD SHOWCASE) to make sure that the game runs as smooth as possible no matter where you play it.
That doesn’t mean we don’t plan to update the game before launch. We have 2 major updates planned for Q4 this year. One around late October/early November and one at the end of December. We have some really cool stuff planned for these updates, especially if you are part of Early Access.
So again, we are fine, and things are going smoothly. We thank you so much for your patience, and we can’t wait for you to get your hands on what we have been working on. We just need a little more time to show you.

June 10 Patch Update
Hi UNDYING fans, today we have something new for you guys!
1. Custom Difficulties now is ready for the Survival Mode! There are 12 options with this update, and there could be more in the future. - In “World Settings” there are [Day Length] and [Resource Regrowth]. Yes, Day Length is something we have controlled firmly for quite a long time. Now in the Survival Mode, you have the control! - In “Character Stats” there are [Hunger], [Thirst] and [Symptom Duration]. These will greatly affect how your body pace with time! “Mom, I’m huuuuuungray again!” - In “Inventory” there are [Item Stack], [Durability], and [Food Spoilage]. Our lovely hoarders, now it’s time to pile up your inventory! - In “Combat” there are [Damage], [Difficulty Increase], [Enemy Respawn] and [Enemy Stagger]. If you felt that zombies are a pain in your ass, now you are theirs. 2. Fixed some minor bugs.
May 28 Patch Update
Fixed an issue with saving diary entries. You can now reactivate entries that weren't saved properly by finding them again.
May 27 Patch Update
1. Fixed a bug that may cause the game to crash when traveling in some circumstances. 2. Fixed an error that Anling can benefit from the skill Converge of Cody. 3. Fixed a bug where multiples of the same journal entry will be displayed in the Diary. 4. Fixed a bug where the item UI would not display when there are too many items on the ground and you are trying to pick them up. 5. Fixed a bug where you can't use pills or grinded herbs when Cody is at full HP and low health or full health and low HP. 6. We have implemented a feature where if your current save data is corrupted, the game will automatically try to recover data from the nearest previous save. If this fails you will be notified and given further instructions.
May 13 Patch Update
In this update we have tackled some feedback from the community:
1. Some sleep can restore HP for Anling and Cody now. 2. The electricity required for dismantling items has been reduced. 3. Now there's value limit for items that can be stolen from you, which means you will no longer lose a huge amount of items when you are stolen from. 4. Hit recovery time when Anling is equipped with one-handed weapons has been reduced, making combat more fluid. 5. Respawn time of zombies for different difficulties has been adjusted, respawn time has been extended for middle and low difficulties. Enemies in the Farm and Backyard locations respawn time has been extended more! 6. How fast time elapses for different difficulties has been adjusted, now days will be much longer for low difficulty. 7. Enemy stagger and stagger recovery has been adjusted for different difficulties, now it's easier to stagger an enemy for low difficulty. 8. Adjusted the Party Bear Zombie's attack hitbox to be smaller.
Weekly update May 7, 2022
1. Fixed a bug where one of Cody's skill prerequisites wasn't being recorded when Cody attacked an enemy when Anling is caught. 2. Fixed an animation error when Anling is caught by a vine. 3. Fixed a bug where retrieving water when your backpack is full would drop bottles in places where they could not be picked up. 4. The description for Cody's Germicidal has been revised. 5. Fixed a bug where Cody may attack himself if he was attacked by Anling when she is in a state of madness.
April 24 Patch Update
1. Fixed a bug where in some areas you couldn't use a [Simple Trap] to catch crows. 2. Fixed a bug where after returning to Cody after he stayed home the inventory would be displayed incorrectly. 3. Fixed a bug where Cody's advanced skill [Reinforce] would always take effect at maximum level. 4. Fixed a bug that Anling can't cause damage to Cody when she is in a state of madness. 5. Fixed a bug where Cody's advanced skill [Germicidal] will take effect no matter what kind of items he has crafted. 6. Fixed a bug where knocked over enemies will flash to where main character is after being attacked. 7. Fixed a bug where the Spike Trap will still display a beam of light even if it's broken. 8. Optimized the storage box so once it hits level 10, the material cost for upgrading will now no longer increase. 9. Fixed a bug where no notifications will be displayed if you pick up multiple items when your bag is full. 10. Cody's advanced skill [Biological Watering] will now not take effect when raining. 11. Fixed a bug where you couldn't press and hold to rearrange items in your inventory. (This used to cause the game to freeze if you were using a gamepad). 12. Fixed a bug that the survival mode difficulty would be linked to the last Story Mode session played. Now you can freely select Survival Mode difficulty when you start a new game.

April 14 Patch Update
1. Fixed a bug that defeated enemies would fall down extremely slow under some circumstances. 2. Fixed a bug that caused Anling to stay stuck in fighting stance during combat. 3. Fixed a bug that would cause Cody to not move after been given commands. 4. Fixed a bug that some single attack may do double damage.
April 09 Patch Update
1. Fixed a few Cody skill unlock issues and simplified unlock requirements of a few skills. In short – things “work gooder” with Cody’s skill system. 2. Fixed some bugs on the poisoned vine. But sorry, it’s still poison. Don’t eat it. 3. Fixed an issue where some symptoms were not correctly cured after using the correct medicines. (Don’t use WebMD in the zombie apocalypse.) 4. Fixed an issue where you could miss an attack on enemies that are lying on the ground. Beat those undead all you want, now! 5. Polished the animations for Anling attacking with her bare hands. She’s no Rocky Balboa, but her form should be much better now. 6. Fixed an issue where the map UI would stack.
