Unformed v.0.12 Update log

Greetings everyone! Bones Studio here, the production team behind Unformed. After a series of unfortunate events, including the reorganization of the production team, we have finally updated the belated v.0.12. Here, we would like to extend our sincerest apologies to all players who are still waiting for the game update.

This update aims at sound effects and percussion. The new levels will be updated in the next version, and will also be accompanied by some new systems (such as NPCs, enchantments, etc.).

The following contains the bulk of the updates:

Added:
-Added more expressive plasma effects;
-Added frame freeze, monster’s shaking and other effects to optimize the sense of blow;
-Added and optimized sound effects when hitting, dying, and using recovery items;

Fixed:
-Fixed the problem that several monsters could not enter the normal execution when they rebounded;
-Fixed the collision bug in some scenes;
-Adjusted the toughness of some monsters so that they can be knocked into the air;
-Fixed the bug that some monsters would not be knocked into the air after execution;
-Adjusted the flying distance of some monsters;
-Fixed a bug with wrong button names in the UI interface;
-Fixed the bug dealing with player's body disappearing after running and attacking with the big sword;
-Fixed several bugs that would appear when monsters died due to being knocked off;
-Fixed the bug about the aim line of the projectile disappearing in some cases;
-Fixed some bugs in AI monster battle;
-Fixed a bug where the wrong animation appears when players are using props
-Fixed the bug that the menu could not disappear normally when opening the store, teleport, and
upgrade menu, leaving the interactive range.

Cimugames releases “Unformed” at 72% off for Summer Sale!

Dear players who want to enrich their game library during the summer sale, we are Bones Studio, the production team behind the game ”Unformed". It’s that time the annual Steam summer sale. Due to a mistake we made while operating on Steam’s backend, "Unformed" unexpectedly joined the discount game army and went on sale at a discount of 72% off.

Why such an error, you ask? We set a game discount which was mis-applied to all games released by Cimugames, leading to a discount of "Unformed" and our other acclaimed game "Runestone Keeper” at 72% off the total price. Although such a big discount on "Unformed", which has only been in the EA stage for two months, was completely out of our plan, we finally decided not to revoke our summer sales promotion. We hope that players who have added the game to their wish list will still purchase the EA version to support our development. Of course, we invite everyone to take a look at our previous Roguelike game, "Runestone Keeper ", which is also currently undergoing a big sale.

Next, we will share some of our work progress and the current status of the studio.

During our two months of silence, we’ve been working extensively and intensively to create new levels and optimize game sound effects and the feeling of impact when fighting. We have originally produced an interesting development log to illustrate all this, but since the multilingual version has not been completed, we have to disclose some in this announcement in advance.

This is a panoramic view of the level we are making. Maybe there will be some changes before the official launch, but the framework of the entire level is generally like this. The codename of this level is "Forgotten Palace", which is the most complicated level in the game so far, and it is also the climax of the story. We have completed the construction of this level and the design of the corresponding monsters, but we still need time to optimize the details.
At the same time, we are optimizing the impact feeling when fighting, battle sequences and sound effects of the game, so that players can get a better game experience. However, we have encountered a great deal of trouble in terms of sound effects, which is one of the reasons that we have been unable to release the update. As for the impact feeling, we have completed the modification. If we can't solve the sound effect problem quickly, we may consider putting some of the updates we have done into a test branch to show the player in advance.

Finally, we regret to announce something without cause for cheer.

We released the EA version of “Unformed" two months ago in order to hear and take to heart the opinions of players during the development and get a part of the income to maintain the studio's expenditure. However, due to the unsatisfactory sales of the EA version, Bones Studio's funds have been seriously insufficient. Although this does not stagger our resolve to continue the game, our members have had to leave us to find new jobs because of financial problems. The studio inevitably fell into a state of slow development. We are now working hard to solve the funding problem and looking for new partners. If you are interested in game development, we welcome everyone to participate in our production in various ways.

Unformed Patch Note V0.11 and following plan

Dear all players:

After staying up for days, we made Users' Interfaces in our game much more player-friendly and reliable. That's the reason that we've been a little bit quite these days, and we are sorry for that. However, we read and talk about every single feedback from you and fix corresponding problems. Hope you can still stick with us.

Patch Note V0.11:
- fixed plenty of problems with stuck UI

- now UI hints support custom key settings

- completed translation of English texts in game

- added some basic tutorial based on default key settings

- fixed collider issues in scene (mostly in Sewer stage)

- improved the animation of Odachi's parry, now its hitbox and effective time is much clearer

Following plan:
- keep balancing & improving the animations of players and weapons

- balance the performance of enemies and bosses

- improving feedback of attack (long-term task)

- improving stage design, add some depth of field and perspective (long-term task)
