That's right! As of this moment, you can enjoy Unmatched: Digital Edition in its full version! Read below to see what has changed and what are our plans regarding this game in the future!



Two new characters and one map have been added to the game!


We would like to introduce to you Little Red and Beowulf as well as the Heorot - the new battlefield with an exciting mechanic! You are getting them as part of the base game - that means for free!

Little Red


Little Red features a clever card-combo mechanism. Matching icons on the cards she plays to the one in her "basket" (discard pile), triggers potent effects.



Starting Health: 14
Attack: Melee
Move value: 2
Sidekick: Huntsman

Special Ability: Resolve an effect on a card you play if the symbol next to the effect matches the item in your basket.
When your discard pile is empty, you have (wild symbol) in your basket.



1. Item in your basket when the card is on top of your discard pile.
2. Card effect available while playing the card, if its symbol matches the item in your basket.

Beowulf


Beowulf uses rage to power up his cards for devastating attacks.



Starting Health: 17
Attack: Melee
Move value: 2
Sidekick: Wiglaf

Special Ability: Beowulf can spend Rage for the effects of certain cards. Gaining Rage will trigger if Beowulf is dealt damage from any source, even from an ally. Icon of special ability in the player’s panel shows the current amount of Beowulf’s Rage:



Beowulf starts with 1 Rage.
When Beowulf is dealt damage, he gains 1 Rage.
Beowulf has a maximum of 3 Rage.

Heorot


Heorot is a brand new battlefield with the exciting door mechanism.



Doors are an additional element on the battlefield that fighters can interact with. Their number and placement depend on the map.



Doors can be opened or closed (the game starts with all doors open). When the door is closed, treat any lines crossing the door as if they did not exist. This blocks movement and attacks eliminates adjacency and breaks up zones. Two spaces that would normally be in the same zone are treated as if they are in different zones if there is a closed door on the shortest path between them.

Unmatched: Digital Edition update 0.5.9 is here!

Skins are in the game! Now you can choose between mono-colored and painted versions of your favorite heroes! Please bear in mind that these colors are not final and might be changed a little on the launch day!



What's more, every Early Access player will receive an additional set of skins for free! Exciting isn't it? From the launch day, you will have 3 skins total to choose from! And more are coming!

And that's not all! We just released update 0.5.9 so few changes have been implemented. Let's see what has changed!



[Feature] Boosting cards in combat has to be confirmed now! Additionally, now you can undo your boost before you confirm action!

That is correct! Now you have to confirm boosting like any other action! Missclicked a card? No problem! Now you can undo your action as well!

[Fix] Select screens no longer appear on cards without a selection!

Some people reported this issue via the feedback feature and thanks to your help we were able to track this issue down and fix this asap! No more turning every card text into Looking Glass selection screen. ;)

[Improvement] Chinese texts are now displayed correctly!

As of 0.5.9 Chinese texts (especially card descriptions) are now displayed in regular size!

Hello! We have some exciting news for you!

Unmatched: Digital Edition is coming!


We are happy to announce that the full release of Unmatched: Digital Edition will take place on the 28th of February 2023! Not only did we put a pin on a date for the full release on all platforms but also planned very busy months ahead for DLCs releases! You can read all about it in the timeline below!



Exciting stuff, isn't it? Overall we are planning on releasing 6 new characters and 4 maps! Don't forget that 2 more characters (Little Red and Beowulf) and 1 map (Heorot) are going to be added to the game on the launch day for free!

Additionally, if you are already an Early Access player - you will get a special skin for all characters (DLCs included) as a thank-you gift! It's still not too late to join the Early Access group! :D

Invisible Man uses fog to dart around the board and strikes without warning!

Special Ability: At the start of the game, after you place Invisible Man, place 3 fog tokens in separate spaces in his zone.
When Invisible Man is on space with a fog token, add 1 to the value of his defense cards.
Invisible Man may move between two spaces with fog tokens as if they were adjacent.


Baskerville Manor - August 2023



Baskerville Manor - a home full of mystery and dangers – uses the secret passageways for a sneak attack!

Baskerville Manor is a map for both 1v1 and 2v2 games with a special "Secret Passages" rule.

Secret Passages:
Secret passages can be used by fighters to move quickly across the battlefield. Their occurrence depends on the map. These passages are indicated by the special icons on certain spaces. A fighter can move from one space with a secret passage to any other space with a secret passage as if they were adjacent.
Spaces with secret passages are not considered adjacent for any other purpose besides moving (e.g. fighters can’t attack through them).

Additionally, let's dwell on the past and see what have we accomplished since the Early Access release!

Since the start of Early Access on the 15th of September, the game has been updated 7 times! Let's see the biggest changes that were part of these patches!




1. Overall AI improvements! 🤖


Our AI had a tough time fighting all of you in September - you gave it quite a challenge! Since day one we were constantly improving our AI - making it smarter and better at playing Unmatched. We also taught it even more Unmatched rules and details like you don't boost maneuver with Excalibur or use it to defeat a 1HP Harpy. ;) You know... just pro plays like that. That is also your success - your feedback helped us immensely! From what we hear from you in the comments on Steam, Facebook, Discord, and Twitter - you see and like these artificial opponents a lot!



2. Increased speed of fight animation! ⏩


Many of our players were asking for speeding up the fight animation. We increased in once but that was not enough since the questions for this feature were still piling up! In the last patch, we think we satisfied our most competitive player's need for speed. ;) Once the speed slider in the settings is set up to the maximum the combat goes almost instantaneously! Test it yourself! :D



3. "Discard" and "Hand" labels on the cards! 🃏


That is another feature you were asking us about a lot. Since the very last update, you can see labels informing you how many cards were discarded or revealed in the opponent's hand while scrolling through the decklist tab! :D Information is power and we want you to have everything presented as clearly as possible.



4. Live Game mode for online multiplayer! ⏰


From the beginning, one of the things you were asking us about was waiting for an opponent to make their move. The previous default option for time limit was "No limit" - this was working great for our previous productions which were not focused on dynamic combat as much as Unmatched is! We met the expectations of Unmatched's players and added Live Game mode in which players have up to 5 minutes to make their move and if one of them leaves the room - he or she forfeits the match!



5. Adding the "Random Hero" and the "Random Map" in online multiplayer settings! 👥


In early versions of the game while creating an online game you could choose a "Random Hero" but it was drawn in the room which from your opponent's perspective was no different from selecting a specific hero. We changed that in a way that the "Random Hero" is unknown until the game begins. We also threw in the "Random Map" setting in the same update! Now nobody will accuse you of always selecting Medusa - that's just luck! ;)




That is all... for now! ;) Expect more updates in 2023! We are constantly working on Unmatched: Digital Edition to deliver you the best digital adaptation of this amazing board game we can think of! More features and updates will be added to the game on regular basis! As for leaving the Early Access - it will happen in Q1 2023 but we will announce the precise date after our Winter break which lasts from today to the 10th of January 2023. Since we won't be able to reply to your comments before that time - Happy New Year 2023 in advance! ;)
