Demo update #2
Another minor update! Don't mind us!
Changes include:
The sound the Star makes when you put everything in valid places no longer plays repeatedly if you keep moving things about - we were watching people stream the demo and it got super annoying, honestly it's the only reason we're doing this update
esc button on the main menu will skip the logo sequence for people who are in a hurry to play our extremely chill slow paced game
Demo update
We've released a minor quality of life update to the Unpacking demo!
Changes include:
Made the "Witch Beam" whisper quieter so it's not as scary
Added control-click for turning items for our one button Mac mouse friends
Several items have been marked up to be allowed in more places
Caught an issue where the game might not auto save if you quit too quickly
Fixed issue where room icons could show up wrong on load
Escape key no longer immediately quits from the main menu
If you've already successfully played through the demo these changes are unlikely to give you a different experience but we're hopeful they'll make things a little bit nicer for anyone who checks it out between now and the end of PAX.
But of course you can play it again if you'd like, that's totally allowed.
Play Unpacking as part of PAX Online!
PAX Online has selected Unpacking as one of the 20 games they’re featuring in their Indie Showcase! Our favourite part of doing shows has always been letting people go hands on with the game, so for PAX Online we’ll have a demo available through Steam for the duration of the show.
The demo covers the first two time periods in the game and only scratches the surface, but it should give you a taste of how the game plays ahead of our full release next year. The full game will have over 30 rooms across eight time periods, so there is still lots more to unpack!
The demo will only be available during PAX Online, so don't miss out!
Let us know if you enjoy Unpacking — we'd love to hear what your favourite items and rooms were.
