Unsettled "Story" Update

Hello!
Today we'd like to share a patch notes from the latest update. This release is focused on alteration of narrative, gameplay improvements and interfaces refinement.
After updating to the new version we recommend to start a new game from the main menu.

CHANGELIST


Gameplay

  • Imroved design of some tutorials to make them more visible and deliver an optimal experience.
  • Added environmental hints and markers for easy guidance in the Prologue in order to make the story events more clear and less difficult.
  • Added new cutscenes to highlight the story events in Chapters 2 and 3.
  • Altered the scenario in the Chapter 3. No spoilers.
  • Simplified some objectives design in order to balance the gameplay experience and reduce difficulty spikes.
  • Replaced invisible walls at the locations' edges with contextualized visual warnings.
  • Foliage changes: added interactive elements such as ice blocks and interactive trees, improved quality of models.

UI

  • Added portraits of characters to their dialogues.
  • Added visual reminders when the new objective becomes available.
  • Improved dialogues interface design: some of them should be skipped manually in order to ensure that its message is conveyed to Player properly.
  • Added color highlights for keywords in texts in order improve their readability.
  • Changed fonts throughout the game in order to improve texts readability.

Settings

  • Added setting for changing master sound volume.
  • Added setting for changing SFX volume.
  • Improved Settings Save system: settings are being written to the file faster and being read faster; changed path to the file.

Achievements

  • Added three new achievements that could be unlocked in Chapter 2.
  • Changed icons and texts on some older ones.

"Frosty" Update



During these hot summer days, we always try to find ways to get away from the heat.
Somebody tries to stay in cool in the most unusual ways:


We offer you to cool down while exploring new location in Unsettled. Just look at this snow-covered landscapes:




















What's inside:


- new location. Huge snow-covered territory the size of 9 square kilometers;
- new character. In this update, you can play as Blink: always hungry young dog travelling with his best friend;
- new mechanics. Playing as Blink, you can hunt and scavenge while exploring this new vast territory.
- updated post-processing;
- new sounds;

And the last one:


- beaver!


You can now meet this beautiful animal in Unsettled.






In the next couple of months we plan to release a few more updates with new features and improvements. What's next:
- in 0.5.1 update: more achievements, new dynamic weather system, general locations improvements;
- in 0.5.2 update: performance, quality and graphics improvements;
- in 0.5.3 update: story mode continuation.

"Almost finished" Update



The story continues!
We've released a huge gameplay update in April, as planned. This is the largest and most complex update so far, it contains the new chapter of the story and many general fixes.
So, to celebrate this milestone we've prepared the special 30% discount for the next week.

What's inside:

- ~1 hour of gameplay and two new locations.













- New horizon ambience models.


- New clouds behavior.


- New cooking process.


- UI overlays. They will let you know when your character feels cold or hot, being attacked, and new water effect.




- Added pictures in transitions between scenes.


- New pop-up hints for some actions.





Other fixes and improvements:
- Slight lighting redesign.
- General preparations for the "Wildfire" and "Death messengers" mechanics.
- Animals can make sounds now. You definitely should try to walk with a boar.
- Main menu UI simplified.
- General UI and languages improvements.

In the next update we plan to include a new features and improvements. Also we will add a few more Steam achievements.

"Furry" Update



Today we've released a second massive update with a new model for every animal. This update includes eight new models: bear, fox, boar, rabbit, deer stag, deer doe, wolf, eagle. Also, there are a few general fixes and improvements.
This is our last major update before the third chapter, small fixes and improvements will be released on an ongoing basis.







Changelist:


1. Features:
- new animal models;
- HDR colors are used to compute environment lighting;
- nice new realtime reflections on some surfaces;
- new options in the settings menu;
- animals will avoid collisions with characters (experimental).
2. Fixes:
- fixed an issue when ALT+TAB could crash the player's OS;
- characters will run for longer distances;
- locations has been slightly redesigned;
- fixed a glitch with occasional deformation of some objects (experimental);
- fixed a glitch when the player sees through geometry if he stands close to some objects (experimental);
- UI improvements;
- languages improvements;
- code maintenance.

"Wow, such fast" Update



In this update, we're releasing a new settings system together with a couple of general bug fixes and improvements. This system will be expanded and supplemented with new options in the next releases.
New update should allow to play with normal performance on systems which are below minimum requirements. Also, we've made some code preparations for "New animals update" which will be released in a few weeks.

Changelist:


1. Features:
- redesigned settings menu;
- UI and languages improvements;
- updated main menu background;
- updated general art backgrounds;
- updated engine and SteamworksSDK versions;
- improved RAM management;
- new sanity and security checks. It should prevent crashes in some cases;
- new assets compression method is used. It provides a better balance of loading speed\build size. Build size decreased by 3 times and launch speed became faster;
- new general optimization algorithms;
- DX9 is no longer supported;
- DX12 support added (experimental).
2. Fixes:
- fixed an issue with bad drawing distance in some places (experimental);
- fixed a glitch when the player sees through geometry if he stands close to some objects (experimental);
- fixed a glitch with occasional deformation of some objects (experimental);
- fixed a glitch with improper UI stretching on some resolutions;
- small code maintenance.

Season's Greetings and news on the upcoming update



Fur! A lot of fur!
In the next few weeks we'll release a huge update with a new model for every animal in Unsettled. This update includes 7 animals: bear, boar, fox, rabbit, deer stag, deer doe and wolf. Also there will be a lot more animations for each of them.

This update will be our last stop before a new chapter. Such a crazy year is coming. But we're sure that we'll manage with your priceless support. We are very grateful for all your support in 2017.

Significant hotfix for Unsettled

Hey guys!

Today we have released a little update to fix a game save problem in Steam version.
Some of our players who played "Unsettled Preview" may encounter a problem when they can't start a new game.
We have fixed that issue to improve your game experience.

Please note that your previous saves are no longer available.


Other changes:
* More achievements added;
* Performance improvements;
* Minor UI changes;
* The game will launch faster;
* That rock has been slightly moved to left.

First (or second) day update

Hello everyone!

We are proud to announce that the first update for Unsettled has just been released!
In this update, we’ve prepared some really epic features. Are you ready to see them?

Well, we’ve… rotated this rock for 180 degrees.


Just kidding.

To be honest, there’s a huge amount of fixes. First, for those players who couldn’t start a new game or had issues with gameplay missions we made a button which clears progress. This also can help if you have any incompatible saves from “Unsettled Preview”.


Second, we have redesigned a tips to make them more visible. That’s simple: read them attentively or you’ll die.


Other fixes:
* Updated behavior of some animals;
* Fixed falling under water in some cases;
* Environmental lighting tweaks;
* More grass and higher visibility range;
* Fixed NPC occasional translation\rotation;
* Tons of optimization tweaks;
* Redistributable packages added;
* Languages and UI fixes;
* UX improvements.
