Balance



  • Weapon equipment can no longer be generated with the Thorns item enchantment.
  • Soldier’s Charge now has a minimum range of 2 and a max range of 5.
  • Generated item rewards are now capped at the Company size (I.e., Solo max is Tier I, while a Triad max is Tier III). Merchant inventories are exempt from this rule (for now).
  • Consumed are now slightly faster.
  • Feral grieflings are now slightly slower.
  • Concubini now slightly faster, leading the pack, rather than following.
  • Conviction damage from Morale tests has been reduced to 5 (from 10).
  • Medical Packs now require the Combat Dressing talent.
  • Scouts now receive Combat Dressing as a class Perk.

Polish



  • A number of developer/debug messages that were being visually logged have been redirected to the developer console.
  • Removed mouse-drag inputs from tactics map during an active Move context.
  • Camera controls are now fully and completely locked out during action shots or the enemy turn and all motion inputs during that time will be lost until the control is returned to the player.
  • A number of audio clips and the primary mixers have been given some first-iteration polish treatment – this effort is far from complete and will continue in the future.
  • Crafting Resource Storage will now properly update with refreshed item counts after crafting any item.

Crashes and Bugs



  • Fixed an issue that could cause a crash when receiving a pop-up notification for newly discovered dynamic adventures.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the Unit Inspector from being invoked during an active Ability context.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when hovering a recipe in the crafting lab.
  • Fixed a crash that could sometimes occur during a battle when attempting to cancel a movement command in progress by right clicking off of the hex grid.
  • Fixed an issue that caused Thorns to reflect far more damage than intended.
  • Fixed an issue that caused The Seneschal to become stuck deciding where he should teleport to when casting Purge Life.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the proper lookup for the Wilting Aura icon.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented the proper lookup for the Bounty Hand icon.
  • Keyscrolls unlocked by the Encounter Dialog will now properly raise notification events for the pop-up notification manager to handle.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when an elite unit died with an active aura.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented crafted items from being delivered to the company inventory if it is full. Zone inventory will be used as overflow in this case.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when targeting or chaining a Feedback projectile to any Concubinus.

New Features




  • Popup Notifications are now displayed on the World Overlay for the following game events (with more to be added in the future):




    • A new class is unlocked
    • A new relic is unlocked
    • A crafting recipe is unlocked
    • A dynamic adventure is discovered – Hovering the event will highlight the discovered zone
    • A character has gained a level in a new or existing class - Clicking the event will transition to the hero editor for the character
    • A character has unspent skill points - Clicking the event will transition to the hero editor for the character


  • The Run History is now available as an option off the Main Menu. You can now view your ten most recent attempts. You can also delete embarrassing attempts. I’ll be looking at expanding this to include more attempts, or make the history configurable by the user. If you have ideas regarding more (or more useful) data that should be tracked, please reach out with a post on the community hub.



  • A new Perception HUD has been added to the Tactics Overlay. It will show a “pip” for each individual enemy that is visible to the currently selected hero. Hovering these pips will highlight that enemy on the battlefield, while clicking them will snap the camera to that unit’s location.



  • A set of Action Summary panels have been added to the Tactics Overlay. These panels will break down the specific and most relevant information for a specific action and its targets, showing the current ability, and essential details for any and all targets and sub-targets, including returned damage from thorns and opportunity attacks.



  • A new Unit Inspector panel has been added to the Tactics Overlay. This panel becomes visible when right clicking any unit. It will display all the details available in the target details HUD (bottom right) when hovering the same unit. It can be dismissed with the convenient Close button located in the top right of the panel.



  • Visual logging of both developer/debugging messages, as well as game feedback is now displayed on all screens. These messages will appear in the upper-third of the user-interface in a fading queue
  • A Company Overview has been added to the Tactics Overlay when the player company has more than one unit. In these cases, clicking on an individual unit detail will snap the camera to that specific unit.


Balance



  • Psionic Blast has been reworked. The damage has been changed from:

    • XD6 physical damage, to:
    • XD4 physical, XD4 conviction, and XD4 essence damage,
    • where X is the essence spent casting the ability

Polish



  • Vignette Post-Processing has been added to the overworld map, in the hopes that the mood is generally darkened, without going overboard (I hope).

Crashes and Bugs



  • Fixed a crash that occurred when landing at a merchant that did not have any treasure generated previously.
  • Fixed an issue on Forest.Road that could sometimes cause units to appear “under” the map.
  • Fixed an issue that incorrectly allowed Physician to sometimes be added to generated items.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when targeting feral grieflings with Feedback
  • Fixed an issue that could sometimes cause battles to load with no enemies when a random encounter was generated with an elite on the roster.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented enhancement state (I.e., the number of opportunity attacks being granted by vigilance, or the current stealth stage of a scout’s infiltration) from being saved during tactical battles.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented correct calculation of opportunity attacks when activating abilities that provoke opportunity while an enemy nearby is capable of capitalizing on it.

New Features



  • Crafting resources are now redirected to a new dedicated storage space available from the crafting interface. This should remove clutter and distractions from the Caravan.
  • New Manual: Combat Dressing. Combat Dressing can now be learned as a passive skill from training manuals, which allows a character to perform First Aid in the field, given the availability of materials and sufficient light.
  • New Manual: Physician. Physician can now be learned as a passive skill from training manuals, which grants the character bonus physical healing, whenever physical healing is done. Using the manual requires the Combat Dressing talent.
  • Four new Unique trophy items, obtained via story encounters:


    • Compass of Seasons

      • Grants Dimensional Synchronization: User occasionally (25%) gains an Action Point after performing a basic attack. Stacks additively. Max 50% proc chance.



    • Covenant of Sisters

      • Grants Astral Terminal: User is immune to essence drain from negation or enervation effects. Does not stack.



    • Dorgu’s Locket

      • Grants Indomitable Confidence: User regenerates a portion (5%) of their missing conviction at the beginning of each combat turn. Stacks additively.



    • Dzasna’s Promise

      • Grants Stalwart Vitality: User regenerates a portion (5%) of their missing health at the beginning of each combat turn. Stacks additively.




Balance



  • Training Manuals no longer drop as encounter rewards. Instead, they can now only be found in merchant inventories and as rewards for very rare story-based encounter drops.
  • [Removed] Training Manual: Tomes was removed from the game. Tomes do not require any training to use, like shields.
  • [Removed] Item Enchantment: Physician was removed from the game.
  • [Removed] Item Enchantment: Combat Dressing was removed from the game.

    • Medical Packs will no longer be generated with Combat Dressing by default.


Polish



  • Accessory tooltips now have space for flavor text and/or item descriptions if they’ve been given one (or both).
  • Iterated on the pond shader for Haunted.Bog. Still not completely happy with it, but it’s better than it was. Will continue to iterate on this asset.
  • Iterated on the surface shader for hex nodes, specifically in regards to node highlights. Areas that cannot be traversed (black), are targeted by an AOE ability, or occupied by an enemy (red) should now be more visible.
  • Localized string placeholders for several keyscrolls have been replaced with proper text descriptions.
  • Iterated on player armor icons. Much better than they were before, but I think I’m still not quite hitting the right angle, zoom, and lighting. Will continue to iterate on these.

Crashes and Bugs



  • Fixed an invalid game state that could occur when a player unit with thorns was slain by an enemy unit that was simultaneously slain by the player’s thorns. Mutually assured destruction is now correctly possible.
  • Fixed an invalid game state that could occur when a player unit was slain by a grenade that they had just thrown. It is now correctly possible to commit suicide by inferno.
  • Fixed a crash that occurred when a player unit was slain by his/her own grenade while wearing thorns. I heard you like damage so I reflected damage from your damage’s damage.
  • Fixed an invalid game state that could occur when a Consumed was slain either by reflected damage from thorns, or by becoming Essence Sated (i.e., Essence Starvation was resolved).
  • Fixed a crash that could occur after completing an action or command while the mouse was (or was close to) hovering the currently selected unit’s HUD.
  • Fixed an issue that caused grenades to become “stuck” in mid-air on short-distance throws.
  • Bandages now correctly require that the intended target is on a Dim or Brightly lit hex.
  • It is no longer possible to discard protected items (e.g., Quest items).
  • The Shipment of Medicine quest item for the Marnehaven Medicine adventure is now correctly removed from the Company inventory upon reaching the delivery address.
  • Items added to the Company inventory by story encounters will now be granted with the correct stack count.
  • References to the icon for Slate Chips were removed for some reason. They’ve been re-added.
  • Human enemies who are outside player perception (I.e., perception checks against the unit have failed) will now correctly hide their underclothing garments. Shameful. tsk
  • Concubini who are outside player perception will now correctly hide their collars and chains.
  • Fallen who are outside player perception will now correctly hide their visual effects and lights.
