Coteries of New York will be available in Russian!
Hello dear members of #vamily! I hope this message finds you well and healthy!
Now here comes an announcement, many of you were waiting for – in the next couple of months Vampire: The Masquerade – Coteries of New York will be getting new language versions on Steam and the first one we can confirm is Russian!
Soon we will share further announcements, unveiling other languages you’ll be able to play in. For now we have completed paperwork and allocated resources to sign the agreement with very talented group of Russian and Ukrainian translators.
I’m sure that many of you are angry that it takes so much time to finally sign proper localization documents and we understand you. We’re doing the best we can to add new languages as soon as possible. Yet, as small indie studio which self-publishes Coteries of New York we need to find a lot of money to be able to pay for translations and it’s expensive if you consider that the game has around 210 thousand words in dialogues and narrator’s text!
Still, we’re almost ready to announce more languages coming!

Hello dear members of #vamily! I hope our announcement meets you in good health.
Let’s keep it short: for several months you’ve been a tremendous support and motivation for the whole Vampire: The Masquerade – Coteries of New York development team. We carefully read your post in discussions, advice, feedback and criticism – every single voice helps us improve the game’s quality, and that’s what care about the most.
Therefore we have a request for you: as we’re focusing on executing our priorities, such as providing you with new language versions, adding new features and erasing more bugs, we ask for every information regarding bugs you can send.
Only by obtaining as much info as possible, we’ll be able to make an efficient bug-smashing patch in the upcoming future!
Hence, we ask all of you to send us emails on support@drawdistance.dev, giving as many technical details as possible, regarding every major bug you encountered. Please, focus on those big, nasty bugs, skip typos this time if you can, but please make sure to share info about the hardware you’re using and the specific nature of this particular bug.
We’ll make sure to deal with issues in the upcoming patch – thanks to your participation all owners of Coteries of New York will be able to enjoy a better game!

Shadows of New York - a standalone expansion - officially announced!
Hello dear members of #vamily, I hope this announcement finds you in good health!
We have made a promise, that we will keep supporting Vampire: The Masquerade: Coteries of New York in the upcoming months and we intend to keep this promise. We're constantly releasing new patches and bug fixes, adding extra collector's content, working on further improvements and language versions.
But next to all these activities we want to enrich the plot, add new branches, expand the perspective and present new points of view within the lore. To achieve this goal, we have jusy announced the first standalone expansion to Coteries of New York - Vampire: The Masquerade: Shadows of New York!

Coteries of New York Deluxe Edition, artbook, soundtrack are LIVE!
Hello dear members of #vamily, how are you today?
The time has finally come! Vampire: The Masquerade - Coteries of New York released on Nintendo Switch and the PC version got the biggest update since launch, which not only introduces several fixes and tweaks, but also improved game client with new locations and silhouettes of characters and new collector's content!
Vampire: The Masquerade - Coteries of New York Deluxe Edition is a bundle, which consists of the base game (significantly upgraded), an artbook (70 beautiful pages!) and official soundtrack (13 atmospheric tracks composed by Arkadiusz Reikowski and Brunon Lubas). The Deluxe Edition is now available for purchase!
Official Artbook consists of 70 pages full of concept arts from different stages of the game's development, final pieces of art included in the game, as well as quotes from the game's lead designer and artists engaged in creating stunning visuals - characters, backgrounds, animations - everything that makes Coteries of New York a truly atmospheric, fully licensed part of the globally renown Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition universe.
Additionally this artbook will contain link to over 20 Vampire: The Masquerade - Coteries of New York themed wallpapers (including desktop and mobile wallpapers and even some animated ones).
Official Soundtrack composed by Arkadiusz Reikowski, one of the most appreciated Polish composers, creator of several critically acclaimed soundtracks to games such as Kholat, Layers of Fear, Observer, Layers of Fear 2 etc., as well as by Brunon Lubas - one of the most talented Polish video games music composers, creator of Ritual: Crown of Horns soundtrack.
The 49 minutes and 1 second of Reikowski's and Lubas' atmospheric soundtrack consists of 13 tracks.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Coteries of New York base game has been enriched with several new locations and images of characters, who were previously presented as shadow silhouettes, as well as updated to version 1.0.06 and several fixes and tweaks are introduced:

Various UI improvements
Fixed gamepad navigation in The Kaiser’s Lackey quest
Improved video synchronization with light animations
Improved sound design in companion quests
Various fixes to sound design in different parts of the game

Of course, our work as a development team doesn't end here. There's still a lot to be done, more content to be added, as well as language versions. In the upcoming months we hope to add several features to Coteries of New York as the best achievable quality is our top priority!

Hello dear members of #vamily, how are you handling the quarantine?
The times are tough and many of us are forced to stay home, but it doesn't mean we're not working! In fact, in the upcoming days a lot is going to happen around Vampire: The Masquerade - Coteries of New York!
As you perhaps already know, Coteries of New York expands into consoles: Nintendo Switch version launches on March 24th, while PS4 version is coming a day after.
Also, on March 24th the PC vesion on Windows, MAC OS and Linux will also receive a significant update, as well as new accompanying content: the official soundtrack (13 tracks composed by amazing Arkadiusz Reikowski and Brunon Lubas), but also AN OFFICIAL ARTBOOK so many of you asked for!
This high quality, official Vampire: The Masquerade - Coteries of New York artbook consists of 70 pages full of concept arts from different stages of the game's development, final pieces of art included in the game, as well as quotes from the game's lead designer and artists engaged in creating stunning visuals - characters, backgrounds, animations - everything that makes Coteries of New York a truly atmospheric, fully licensed part of the globally renown Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition universe.

Hello dear fans of Vampire: The Masquerade and World of Darkness!
Just day before yesterday we have announced the launch date of Vampire: The Masquerade - Coteries of New York on Nintendo Switch (March 24th!), as well as shared information about upcoming big update of the PC version. Now it's time to reveal a little bit more about extra stuff we've prepared for you in March!
Very soon we're going to release the Vampire: The Masquerade - Coteries of New York Official Soundtrack! Many of you asked for it and you can already check the OST's Steam page and add the soundtrack to your wishlist!
The soundtracks release date will be revelead really soon, but we can already assure you that you'll be able to lose yourself in 13 moody, atmospheric tracks set in the Vampire: The Masquerade universe!

Coteries of New York big PC update coming; Switch release date confirmed!
Hello dear members of #Vamily, how are you today?
With supermoon shining, we at Draw Distance have great news to share with you: On March 24th at 10 AM PT / 5 PM GMT / 6 PM CET Vampire: The Masquerade – Coteries of New York officially launches on Nintendo Switch! PS4 and Xbox One versions are coming after soon.
On occasion of the console launch we have prepared lots of good stuff for our beloved PC community. Coteries of New York will get a big update and more to-be-kept-in-secret-for-now surprises will be revealed.
Both the console versions and the updated PC version will contain additional elements, such as new graphical assets (new character portraits and new location backgrounds), improved music and numerous fixes. All technical details and full list of changes will be enumerated in a separate Steam announcement soon.

VtM - Coteries of New York: Mac OS and Linux support; version 1.0.05 is live!
Hello dear members of #vamily, how are you?
We have an important piece of news to share:
Vampire: The Masquerade - Coteries of New York now supports Mac OS and Linux!
We're fully aware that many members of the VtM community were waiting for this update and we're very sorry that you had to wait more than a months since the game released to be able to launch Coteries of New York on Mac OS and Linux.
We want to assure you that we're working hard to add all the features we wanted to add from the very beginning, erasing bugs, correcting typos and negotiating the best possible deals to add more language versions.
We'll be supporting Coteries of New York in the upcoming months to make sure that you can enjoy the highest quality we're able to deliver.
Saying that, It's my pleasure to announce that the version 1.0.05 is now live, which means that we have implemented several fixes and removed number of issues:
Fixed unredacted text being displayed in log
Fixed slight text clipping on the dialogue box edges
Fixed slight text jumping on new line appearing
Fixed some resolution issues on wide monitors
Various fixed instances of the text not being attached to the proper character/narrator
Some audio fixes and improvements
Please remember that we're always open to your suggestions, because it's thanks to your feedback and engagement we're able to continuously improve Coteries of New York.

VtM: Coteries of New York version 1.0.04 update
Hello dear Coteries of New York players!
We have prepared a new version of the game (1.0.04), which fixes some bugs, but also adds support of the 2560 x 1440 resolution.
Here's the short list of changes and fixes:
Added 2560 x 1440 resolution
Fixed game blocking at the end when running without steam client
Larson now properly recognizes you during D’Angelo’s storyline if you met in Elysium.
Fixed wrong background appearing in Main Quest 3
Various typo fixes.
Please expect new bug-fixing patches soon. We're also looking into Linux and Mac OS support and we'd love to finish the processes of certification and testing as soon as possible.

VtM - Coteries of New York - a huge thank you after the launch
Dear #vamily members, Coteries of New York has launched on PC a little more than 24 hours ago! :)
First of all, we'd like to thank everyone, who decided to buy the game. Thank you for your trust, your continuous support, kind words and great pieces of advice. A game means nothing without a community and we feel that we really found a lot of new friends, who share our love and passion for Vampire: The Masquerade.
We're humbled by all positive reviews and comments, we appreciate many of you stood for Coteries of New York in many discussions, which started since the release. Still, it would be unfair to say that everything went smoothly and everyone's happy.
Even though we're pleased with the number of copies sold, it has never been our goal to simply earn some money and forget about all else. We're Vampire: The Masquerade tabletop RPG players for many years and many of us - members of the development team - are proud members of the VtM community in Poland. We treat all of you as fellow Vampire fans, we don't see our relation as a seller-customer deal. We want to build a bond, based on the same positive emotions, known to everyone who experienced Vampire: The Masquerade game and fell in love with the setting and mood.
Therefore our goal is to be 100% transparent in communicating things and mixed user score indicates that we failed some part of the community we respect most deeply. We believe you deserve an explanation, when it comes to some stuff that you criticize and you have every right to express your negative opinions. Please let us elaborate on some stuff we noticed you talked about very often:
First of all, please be assured that we're reading every single review, every comment, every opinion, analyze every piece of advice. We hear you and we're very thankful for every voice. We do realize that despite our efforts, we didn't manage to erase every bug and couple of those devils slipped into the game. We promise that we're working as hard as possible to get rid of all of them and improve your satisfaction while playing Coteries of New York. Thank you for your patience, but also for addressing all bugs right away. We already updated the game with a small patch, aimed at erasing a few bugs. Be certain that more patches are on the way!
Some of you were surprised and confused about the price discount. Some of you saw 10%, others 30% and it was our fault that we failed to properly communicate the issue. So, the default launch discount is 10% and it lasts for a week since the release. BUT, we agreed with Valve that owners of one of our previous games, called Serial Cleaner will get a loyalty discount: 20%, which stacks up with the launch dicount and that equals 30%. The problem is that Serial Cleaner owners didn't get any notification, hence the confusion. We're really sorry for miscommunicating this, what we've seen as a pleasant surprise. At least we hope that many of you managed to make good use of the 30% discount!
Lack of Linux and Mac OS support - many of you were angry at us, because we removed the info regarding Linux and Mac OS support just before the launch and you were right. For several months the game's description promised that you'll be able to play Coteries of New York on Linux and Mac OS and in the end we didn't deliver. The reason for that is that the development process of the game took longer than expected. We had to postpone the release and fought hard to launch on December 11th. Because of that we didn't have enough time to properly test the Linux and Mac OS version. So, we had a hard decision to make: release versions we were not 100% certain of or add Linux and Mac OS support later. We decided we're gonna pick the second option and we paid for it when it comes to reviews, but we believe we still made a good choice. We'll make sure to add Linux and Mac OS as soon as possible, because we know that these versions are important to you.
Multilanguage support: Coteries of New York is only available in English and we know that with a rabid-bite novel-like game like ours, with a lot of text, many of you would love to play the game in your native languages. Still, the game is available in English only, because we couldn't afford to pay for localization before the release. We're a small indie studio and we self-publish the game. We had to choose - whether we should move money into writing, visuals and music or pay for translating more than 210 thousand words, pay for proofreading, LQA, implementation etc. We decided that the quality of the story, art and sound is more important and we decided that as soon the game will start bringing revenues, we'll immediately explore possibilities to add more languages, one after another.
Confusing description of the game: some of you criticize the description of the game on its product page. You expressed clearly that it's confusing and does not reflect precisely, what the game is like and what it is about. While writing it we thought it's fine and we never meant to lie of overpromise anything. Still, an external perspective is very precious and we thank you for the criticism. We'll adjust the description to better reflect the true nature and structure of Coteries of New York, as we don't want anyone to feel tricked or mislead!
That's all when it comes to most important things we observe appearing in reviews and comments. We hope we still deserve your amazing support. As we said before, we're open to every opinion and we treat all of them very seriously. We will work even harder to improve the quality of Coteries of New York and communication with our community.
