Just an update on what I have been working on ( as well as many other small things as well ). I have been preparing all the content I need to make the final game trailer! I have been creating an "example village" featuring most of the objects you can create and make for several shots for the video. I have created a full bullet point list of everything I plan to add and talk about in the trailer, as well as made the graphics for those.
I still do not have a final release date planned just yet. I will make a final decision on that after the trailer is finished.

NEW Video Tutorial Series! "How to Survive" Complete Game Play Walkthrough!
Announcing a new, complete video series called "How to Survive"! It a series of videos showing all aspects of the game. Including everything from basic controls, survival tips, and in-depth descriptions of all the professions in the game!
This was a *massive* amount of work but it was all worth it! These videos describe the game in vastly more detail than the interactive tutorials (which I plan to remove now at some point in the near future since the videos are far more useful).

The video series explains the game in detail and is split up into episodes, from game play videos, to specific profession videos.

Update 2.1.1 is Live! Attachments Overhaul!
The attachments overhaul is complete! This update allows you to see many more items on your character! You can now equip yourself for those long excursions around the world, and look good doing it too!

There is not too much to say technically about this update except that you can see more complex equipped items now like shoes and hide sacks on your back!

The plan is to finally create many videos in a series I am calling "How to Survive". It will be a tutorial of how all the game play mechanics, skills, and professions work in detail.

Massive Update 2.1.0 is Live! HUGE Amount of Updates!
This was truly a staggering amount of work, but it was all worth it! This update was the result of a complete exhaustive play test of the entire game and all of its game mechanics. As there are many crafts, professions, and skills you can imagine the play testing and balancing was an extensive process. Now it is finally complete!

Of course, due to the massive amount of changes, I will be testing all the updates to make sure everything is working smoothly. So far I have had no issues at all!
Once I have done my final testing of the update. The next step of development is content creation! I will be starting with making a video series explaining all the game play mechanics of Vantage. Due to complexity of the game play, I decided making videos would be the best way to do this.
But I will explain more about this later. Stay tuned!!!
Project Vantage Village Blog #3: Night Walk

The initial complete wave of exhaustive game play testing has been complete! To celebrate, here is a night-time walk through of the Game Play Test village we are creating. It is not so large yet, but it keeps on growing, and looking even better as I continue to test everything!
The next step is to complete the large list of updates I have logged while doing this game play test. This is a very large list of updates, however, there are no major overhauls or code rewrites, and many of these updates are very simple!
However, it will still be quite a bit of work to complete these, but the end result is a VERY LARGE update that will mark the completion of the early access game play testing.
What comes after that update? Well you will have to wait and see :)

Project: Vantage Village Update Blog #2

The wigwam frame has been built and will soon be covered in animal hides!
A great deal of work and testing has already been done. Almost every profession has been tested exhaustively. I have a list of updates ready to be worked on once this testing is completed.
But of course, as I am testing, we are building our village! (Thanks to Kastuk for the help with this also!)
The wigwam is the next step to the development of the village. I will be levelling the land to be able to place more buildings, like the hogan house, which will involve hauling sand and mud from the desert to build it.
Of course I will post more as the village develops!
Update on Project: Vantage Village
Just a quick update on Project: Vantage Village!
I have completed the testing of pottery, and leatherworking is next. I am adding, balancing, and optimizing many, many things, so the testing is going unbelievably well!! As I continue, the village will slowly grow as I test all aspects of the game.
I plan to release a large update after I complete leatherworking with a huge amount of optimizations and changes. The list is quite large, but mostly small things which is a great sign!
Also, after leatherworking I do plan to finally expand the village and, well, make it look like a real village! Currently I have been doing a lot of tests, and as I mentioned before, those tests have been going extremely well!
Also a big shout out to Kastuk who has been helping me a lot to test things and build the village :)

Terraforming Updates Added
I am of course continuously updating the game very frequently, with many small updates, this one is a bit larger as it overhauls the terraforming mechanics (raising and lowering terrain). To summarize, raising and lowering terrain has been made much easier, and shovels last much longer so you can change terrain more quickly and more often!

Update 2.0.0 is Live! Project: Vantage Village has Begun!
The next phase of development has begun for Vantage! This phase I will create an entire village over time, testing all aspects of the game, testing and refining all the items, skill, crafts, and professions in the world by exhaustively play testing them!
The picture here shows a great deal of....nothing! That is because I plan to start creating the village here. Over time I will post more pictures/videos showing the evolution of the village as it is created.
And anyone who wants to help can! You can create a new character and spawn on the "Project: Vantage Village" location (displayed on the location list on the Final Deploy screen during character creation on the main test server.)
Again, the main goal of this is to play test the game, find anything that needs to be optimized and finish off the development of the game's mechanics to prepare for a full release in the near future. This is going to be a vert LONG and SLOW process, but once this phase is complete, the game will be even more of a wonder to play!
Call for Videos and Screenshots: Show Me Your Home Away From Home!
I would like to see what great villages, houses, or just simple campsites you have created, and compile them into a YouTube video!
Before I begin with the Village building test on the main server, I want to see what amazing things people had made from this point in Early Access!
The reason for doing this now is that the "Project: Vantage Village" is about running a complete test of every aspect of the game. In order to do that, I will of course doing a complete world wipe of the Main Test Server only. ( All players personal servers will of course not be affected, I am only wiping my test server just to be clear ). However, I will put a copy of the world files in a dropbox for you to access if you wish to copy these files over to your own personal server so you can continue to play as normal.
Here is what you can do:
- You can press Shift-H to hide your in-game UI for videos and screenshots
- If you have something on the main test server, just tell me your Character's name ( if it near your stuff ) or tell me the location ( "/loc" gives you this ) and I can make a video myself.
- Tell me your Character's Name so I can make a quick description and give you credit for your accomplishment: For example : "Carradine's Village", Carradine's Overlook", etc...
- Video is preferred over images of course, but either is fine!
- Throw your file into a Dropbox (Google or otherwise) so I can access it. You can also email me a image (email is located in the "Bug" window in-game, not going to post my email here) or post it here on Steam.
- You can send me a private message (Vantage Dev) letting me know any info you want me to see (where to access your image/video etc..).
This next phase of development is going to be exciting! The end of Early Access is still a ways off, but is getting closer!
