  • - Fixed a bug where when you load the game the Achievements UI was scaled incorrectly
  • - Fixed a bug where Achievements didn't display their Achievement Icons.
  • - Fixed a bug where if you played in the closed beta and didn't delete your save data the game would soft lock when selecting a game mode
  • - Fixed a bug where the mouse cursor would be displayed when on the controls screen even when using a controller
  • - Fixed a bug where when selecting an option on the options screen new changes were not being reflected correctly
  • - Fixed a bug where the screen resolution was not being displayed correctly when launching the game.
  • - Fixed a bug where when using the Sweeper Drone collision detection wasn't being triggered.
  • - Added a second projectile for non upgraded firing for Ship 1 for gameplay balance
  • - Added unlock info on the game mode select screen so there is an indication on how to unlock locked game modes.
  • - Added 30 seconds to some Boss Fights for gameplay balance


Possible Bugs

  • - When in the Settings screen some controllers will rapidly cycle through options making it impossible to select an option. Still investigating the cause.

Patch version 1.0.1

For those of you who played the game Yesterday you might have noticed you weren't getting achievements. I'm sorry for that there was some code in the game blocking the Achievements from being registered. I think I have fixed it. Also the in game achievements screen wasn't displaying correctly so that has also be fixed.

Hello Everyone,

Vector Assault 2 has now been released, and you can purchase it for $4.99 USD. It has been a long 18 months of development and I hope everyone that plays the game enjoys it. For the next few weeks I will be monitoring the Steam community forums, and my Twitter to see if anyone has any questions or issues with the game. Hopefully there will be no issues. Feedback on the game is totally welcome and it would be appreciated.

In the current build of the game we have the following


  • - 4 playable ships each with unique primary and sub weapons
  • - 11 arenas
  • - 8 power-ups that can be upgraded.
  • - 5 main game modes
  • - Challenge levels across the 5 game modes plus some additional modes exclusive to the challenge modes.


Vector Assault 2 is a vastly improvement on the original and hopefully it will be enjoyed by all that play it.

Vector Assault 2 Release Data Announcement

Vector Assault 2 is finally in the final stage of development and will be released on 9/1/22. It has been almost 118 months since the start of Vector Assault 2's development. The game was going to be just an update to Vector Assault, but I lost the source code for the project a few years ago, and trying to do an add on for the game was impossible and rebuilding the game turned into adding new features and modifying the game so much that it was decided that it should be a sequel instead.

If you are interested in Vector Assault 2 the game will release on 9/1/22, and I hope everyone that plays it will enjoy playing it as much as I did developing it.

Beta Patch 3

Hello everyone,

There is a new build of the game being released that ads some tweaks to the game, and a new game mode.

It has been a while since the last patch and I would like some feedback to see if I should change things.


  • Fixed a bug that made enemies spawn incorrectly in most game modes and levels.
  • Fixed a bug where some enemy behaviors didn't function if there were multiple instances of the same enemy.
  • Fixed a bug where the number of stars you gained was displayed incorrectly
  • Fixed a bug where the number of credits you obtained didn't update when purchasing upgrades
  • Added a timer to boss battles to make them more of a challenge
  • Added a new Game mode Sequence (Not sure if I will be using that name for the mode or not)


I am not sure if any other bugs/issues are in the game. I hope that there aren't any game breaking issues in the game currently. But if you find any it would be great to know about the mso I can fix them.

Beta Patch 2

Hello everyone,

I have made an update to the game that will address some issues pointed out and added a few things to make gameplay more enjoyable.

New Features




  • Menu navigation can now be done with Arrow Keys when using a keyboard
  • Added Tooltips on certain sections of the menu so there is an explanation for what certain menu options do.
  • Added a new Powerup that spawns a mini Bomb that lasts for a set duration and constantly pulses until the duration ends.
  • Added a Screen Resolution option in the Settings Menu
  • Added a Despawn animation for game modes where the player would be allowed to be alive at the end. Such as Score Rush, and Time Trial
  • Added a modal dialog window when the player exits a gameplay screen or wants to quit to the desktop


Bug Fixes




  • Fixed a bug where if there is a controller connected keyboard input wouldn't work.
  • Fixed a bug where moving sound sliders in the settings screen would play the sound constantly without any delay.
  • Fixed a bug where the game soft flocks on the game mode screen when selecting a game mode.
  • Fixed a bug where using the screen clear ability on certain ships would cause it to stay on screen and constantly kill enemies without going away when its duration is reached.
  • Fixed a bug where accessing the settings menu during gameplay would cause the game to soft lock and not allow any inputs to be processed.


thanks to all that reported bugs and if you find any other issues feel free to let me know so that they can be fixed.

Beta Patch 1

The closed beta for Vector Assault 2 started on Friday but I think a lot of people who signed up to play potentially couldn't play because of some game breaking issues. These issues have hopefully been fixed. If not check the Playtest Discussion board for a temporary fix.


  • Fixed a bug where if you have save data pre-patch your game would soft lock. Hopefully this fixes the issues.
  • Shortened the duration of the screen clear for ship 1. It made enemies that were not alive during the initial use of the sub weapon die.


I am sorry for any inconvenience this has caused anyone. I only found out about the soft lock issue today because someone finally informed me when they tried to playtest the game. If you have an issue with the game please let me know. Feedback is really needed and that is the whole reason for the playtesting.

For those of you who signed up for the Closed Beta test for Vector Assault 2 it is now downloadable. If you missed the sign up period don't worry about it. There may be another playtest in the future if more testing and feedback is needed.

Hello,

I have been working on Vector Assault 2 for a while and I have gotten to the point where I would like people to play the game, and help test it to make it the best possible game. And since Steam has the playtest feature it is easier to get feedback and make the game better than the original Vector Assault in every way.

If you are interested in helping test the game you can do so by going to the game page for Vector Assault 2 and signing up for the beta. Sign ups will be for one week and then the beta will start. Once the beta has started it will be for one week. this gives people time to test the game and give as much feed back as possible.
