Veil of Dust is honored to have been chosen for the Tiny Teams fest!
We're honored to announce that Veil of Dust: A Homesteading Game was chosen this year for the Tiny Teams fest - a showcase of exceptional games from small studios put on by Yogscast.
This festival is such a great opportunity because it captures the original spirit of Indie Gaming - small teams of people brimming with passion for their projects who have the leeway to experiment and bring fresh ideas to gaming. Bigger games and teams can make impressive technical lifts, but they also have numerous stakeholders and pressure that guide their creative processes. Sometimes not always for the better. I've always said of Veil of Dust that we truly have one thing a AAA studio can never bring players - a 100% woman-lead creative effort.
There will be a hub page up on steam through which steam users can discover upcoming games developed by small studios, with some Tiny Teams alumni, such as Peglin and Escape Simulator, later going on to achieve great success. Many of the games will also be streamed on Yogscast's channel over the course of the festival.
Veil of Dust will also be going on sale in celebration - If you've been waiting for a push, next week is your best bet until the next big release in November!
Hope to see you all there! -Elle

Several bug fixes and ability to take screenshots
Several bug fixes and ability to take screenshots
1. Fixed an issue where the game could crash if you went to the river encampment with Shane. 2. Fixed an issue where it was sometimes possible to try to leave the house, and instead walk around in the dark space without going to the homestead. 3. Fixed an issue where two cutscenes would incorrectly trigger on the same night 4. Fixed a rare issue where pressing the keys in a very certain combination under specific circumstances could cause a crash when crafting. 5. Adds the ability to take Steam screenshots.
June 24 Fixes
Thanks to everyone for playing our game on the first day and submitting reports to us! For all of the number of hours players have put in so far, we're happy to only have seen a handful of items submitted.
The latest build includes the following fixes:
1. Fixes a bug where standing on certain edges of the river-room tent can cause Aine's commentary to run on repeat 2. Fixes a bug where hugging Shane on the edge of a screen can cause a crash 3. Fixes a bug where coordinates from an unfinished cutscene would cause Aine to walk off to unexpected places after subsequent cutscenes, frequently getting stuck 4. Fixes an issue where save files started on the Demo don't have the axe head when starting a new game 5. Fixes an edge-case bug where multiple cutscenes would attempt to run simultaneously, causing a crash 6. Fixes a bug where climbing at certain edges of the screen could cause Aine to get stuck climbing in place.
Veil of Dust is now released!
It's launch day, which means Veil of Dust is now live for sale on Steam now! The most helpful thing a fan can do is to buy a copy and review it ASAP. It really helps a small team like ours gain visibility.
Secondarily, we'll take this opportunity to remind you there's going to be an online Launch Party on July 2nd at 10:00am. We'll be doing some streaming, some games, and some general hanging out. Set a reminder now by clicking through this link (https://youtu.be/BQx9Y1b73MI), or simply click through when it's time.
It's been a long and amazing journey - we couldn't do it without your support. Thanks for coming along and helping us get this far.

Playtime estimate for Veil of Dust - 26-35 hours. We surpassed 1000 wishlists!
Just a brief announcement - We now have an estimated play time for the EA Build (26 - 35 hours for the main storyline content, the spouse storyline content, and obtaining all the available upgrades for the homestead). 26 hours would be for an ultra-optimizing player and 35 hours would be those who like to vibe a little more. Ultra-optimizers who play on Casual Mode may get through everything a little quicker than 26 hours.
Other updates include more visual diversity in textures, a ton more features and quality-of-life updates, and obviously the storyline content.
We also surpassed 1000 wishlists at some point in the past! Hooray! This is important because it tells steam that people are anticipating the game and it prioritizes it higher in the algorithm and shows it to more players who might be interested. Thank you for your support and we look forward to finally sharing our vision in the June 23rd release of Veil of Dust: A Homesteading Game!
