I've just released the patch mentioned earlier. This should fix the game-breaking bugs caused by exiting areas partway through, as well as fix the issues with runestones and the shrine altar [runes were sometimes working even if you don't have them, and sometimes weren't working even if you did].
Hopefully this patch fixes all the major issues, but I'll be keeping my eye on things here.
Bug Fixes Coming Up
Hey guys.
Sorry about the complete silence. As I said in my previous post [a while back now], I'm very much focused on future games and am not going to be actively working on this one any more for a number of reasons. The biggest of these is that as this was my first game, lots of the code is very messy and poorly done, and as you have no doubt seen, is prone to game-breaking bugs. I'm going to spend a bit of time patching some of these [especially the ones caused by exiting the area], so expect that in the next few days.
Thanks for your patience,

Update and Development
Hello all!
First of all, I have noticed a bug where the options menu on the main menu takes players back to the pause menu, causing the ability to skip the entire first portion of the game. A patch is going live now, hopefully this didn't ruin too many experiences.
I'm sorry for the lack of updates/support on Veilia lately. My next project is keeping me very busy, and I am excited to be able to announce more on that soon. Veilia, at it's core, was an experiment for me, to see what could be done by a one-man developer in only a few months. As it was my first game, I'm pleased with the results. However, it is still very buggy, and still has many glaring issues. While the experience and knowledge I have gained from this game has been very helpful, I feel that it’s in everyone's best interest that I let it be, and continue to work on future titles. Obviously horribly game breaking issues will be patched if they pop up, but generally, I’m going to be heavily focused on this upcoming project. If you are interested in hearing news about this current project [when I have more to show], check out Gawkfish Studios on Facebook and YouTube.
The support for Veilia has been much more than I ever expected, and I hope that it gave people an interesting experience. Until next time.
Rune Doors Patch
Just released a patch that will fix some bugs with the rune doors in the shrine. There was a major bug where if you picked up the runes in certain orders, they wouldn't place on the doors properly. This has now been resolved, and runes can be placed properly, regardless of order.
Desert Update
Hey everybody!
After lots of requests/painful experiences, I am releasing a patch that will make the desert area MUCH less frustrating. The original intent of this game was to make a game that I personally like, and to me, walking for 15 minutes in a straight line through the sand is fun, because I like to RP and get into it like that. However, it's clear that my views are not commonly shared, and so I am tweaking this area. It will now be much more fun and much faster to get around that area.
Expect the patch in the next 30 minutes.
Endgame Patch
Hello all!
I'm just about to release a very quick patch that should make the endgame section a bit less wonky.
END GAME SPOILER WARNING! Don't read if you want to experience it yourself.
When you complete the ritual with the shards, the everything now properly stops moving once you get to the hidden room, and the exit gate is now properly scaled (so you don't have to jump into it)
Shard/Rune Bug
Thanks for all your patience with this slightly wonky launch.
I have been made aware of some end-game bugs and have fixed them. There was an issue where sometimes players were unable to place shards on the altar, and another where runes weren't always working with the doors. These are now fixed and should be live in about an hour.

Runestone bug
I have become aware of an issue where all of the hidden runestones were spawning in the shrine right away. This is obviously not intended, and a patch is coming out in a few minutes to resolve this. Unfortunately, to anyone who picked them all up, they will still be in your inventory.
Veilia is live!
Hello everybody! Veilia is now live and available for purchase. As I mentioned earlier, the achievements are not fully working as of yet, some of them seem to unlock just fine, while others don't seem to update in the Steam client. I'll be releasing a patch whenever this is resolved.
Veilia Launches Tomorrow!
Hello all!
Veilia is launching tomorrow. It's Gawkfish Studios first ever game on Steam, so this is fairly exciting. There are a few things that should be noted, though.
1. Steam Achievements are fully implemented, but have not been properly tested yet. If you notice that they are unlocking but not showing up in the steam client, be patient, as this is someting that will be resolved shortly.
2. Bugs will be present! These will be mostly visual bugs, and shouldn't effect gameplay. While this is not an early access game, some of the visual elements may display differently depending on your computer specs, and these will be sorted out as and when they appear.
