Venaitura

New Release!

Hello everyone!

If you've yet to be informed, I'm here to announce that I've released ANOTHER complete game onto Steam!

Introducing TO AERTHEN!

It's a little bit different than Venaitura, but if you've got a feel for my style or how I approach JRPG mechanics, you're sure to love this one as much as all the others!

To Aerthen is my take on a light-hearted JRPG adventure that focuses on a set party and is far more "cinematic" and story-driven than Venaitura. After completing the aforementioned game, I wanted to work on something lighter and with lower stakes. Something you could jump into; a whimsical adventure modeled after classic JRPGs like Final Fantasy 3/4 and Lunar 1/2.

Despite the story's tone and the game's overall atmosphere being vastly different than that feature in Venaitura, To Aerthen still feature the same great and well-balanced gameplay I've come to be known for!

If it sounds like something you may be interested in, check out the Steam Page and consider supporting me in my game making endeavors! I hope to bring all of you many, MANY more adventures and absolutely love doing this!

Thanks for all the continued support!

June 28, 2022 Patch

Just a small patch with a few minor bug fixes and balancing adjustments!

-Fixed a (relatively) minor issue wherein entering Montam's Training Center without defeating MOM first, then leaving and re-entering would cause the wrong events to play out (but not break anything or prevent progress).

-Clarified (through NPC dialogue) where the player can find Merlin after defeating Morgan on Little Brittin.

Balance Patch

Another update for everyone! This one has adjustments to a ton of enemies and equipment.

-The EXP of enemies post-Land Ho have also had their EXP rates adjusted, so they now give more EXP than before (to further ward off any need to grind).

-Greatswords should be considerably more useful.

I'd also like to remind players that each weapon type as its own damage multiplier, thus a higher ATK rating doesn't mean that weapon will net you more damage! Greatswords will always outshine EVERYTHING in damage; Gloves or Spears won't deal as much damage as a Greatsword even with the same amount of ATK.

There's also been a handful of smaller updates that aren't worth mentioning.

Hope you all continue to enjoy Venaitura! Thanks for all the amazing support so far!

FREEDOM PATCH Bug Fixes

THREE UPDATES have been released today: The FREEDOM PATCH, then two additional updates that followed. Please make sure your project has received these downloads/updates entirely before attempting to play!

If not, your save files may be jeopardized due to the terrible mistake I made wherein I forgot to remove my OWN saves before proceeding with updating the project. This replaced pre-existing saves.

This SHOULD NOT HAPPEN after the latest emergency patch (from a moment ago) as the other save files have been removed.

FREEDOM UPDATE (March 28, 2022)

-Added a chest in the cave wherein the players first arrive onto Tsufana after leaving the Realm of Heroes that contains the “Monster ZERO” item. Use this on every map where you wish to avoid the random encounters there; moving to a different map cancels its effect.

-Clarified the “Wandering Wizard's” purpose through his dialogue in Kammlot.

-Updated portions of the world map.

-Fixed various spelling mistakes.

-The damage multiplier for Greatswords was adjusted from 165% to 180%.

-The damage multiplier for a weapon/ability's effectiveness against particular enemy types was increased from 250% to 300%.

-Added a blue tile to the basement of “Castle Swordcenter” on Ragna Rock to help players identify the shortcut available to reach the first floor.

-The Wandering Wizard will now appear within the Dungeon of Doom's entrance prior to being able to access the dungeon (after defeating Montam) instructing you to return in the future.

-Players are now able to enter Montam's Training Center WITHOUT defeating “MOM.” It is not recommended for a player's initial playthrough, as it may leave them (more) confused regarding the scene following the boss fight there. A powerful monster will also have to be bested to access the Training Center in this manner, too.

-Players are now able to access the Lispen continent before acquiring the Dragon.

Walkthrough PUBLISHED!

Is the world of Tsufana a little too intimidating?

Need a little help guiding your heroes to the next goal amidst all the treasures tempting them from their path?

Did you take a break, only to come back and find yourself completely clueless as to where you may need to go?

FEAR NOT!

I decided to whip up a walkthrough/guide which I posted both to the Steam Community Discussion Page AND into the "Guide" section available on Venaitura's page in your Steam Library.

Hope this helps!

Complete Package

VENAITURA has received all of the updates it will ever receive. The project will not grow beyond what is now available to the public!

Over the course of the last few months following the game's release, it's received several updates that has forged it into the best possible product it can become! Balances have been made, bugs squashed, spelling errors corrected, and skills tweaked. Focusing on this project any longer will only distract me from what's coming: Venaitura Remains, the direct sequel to this project! Expect to see an incredible amount of QOL adjustments and an approach that's sure to please fans of classic JRPGs.

If you were waiting for VENAITURA to become as "complete" as possible before making a purchase or digging your teeth into the real meat of its contents, there's no better time than the present!

VENAITURA has received the following updates since its release:

  1. + "NEW GAME PLUS" was added and is accessible after beating the game once.

  2. + "SOLO MODE" was added and is available from the outset; players can choose to undertake the ultimate challenge and seek to topple the titular tower as a lone hero!

  3. + Montam's Coliseum was added as an additional optional "dungeon" or challenge of sorts and is available after conquering the 5th Purveyor.

  4. + The Savior, as well as several other classes, have had their skills rebalanced to make using them more enjoyable.

  5. +The Spellslinger Class received an updated sprite!

  6. +A Handful of bosses have been adjusted so that they provide more of a challenge.

  7. + Many spelling errors have been fixed.

  8. +Several abilities wielded solely by enemies didn't function as intended and have been fixed.

  9. +Additional NPCs have been added to further clarify some things for players who are just beginning their adventure.

  10. +Many, MANY other (much smaller) adjustments that I can't possible begin to remember.

To those of you who have supported me and my project(s) up until now, I extend a heartfelt "THANK YOU!" I truly appreciate your presence and hope you continue to stick around well into the future to see how the world of Tsufana develops from this point forward!

I hope to see all of you again once Venaitura Remains is completed within the next few years!

November Update

-Fixed a bug involving the Savior Class wherein its HP would be reduced to 1 during one of the early-game battles against 2 Gooper Troopers.

-Several character graphics have been updated, including the Spellslinger Class!

-You're now unable to save within Montam's Coliseum.
