We have (finally) reached a point with the game where it's ready for release! The new dungeon will add an estimated 2-4 hours of play time to what the demo offered and brings with it a slew of bosses, puzzles, collectibles and spells. We're so excited to finally be able to release the game after the incredible feedback we received from the demo and the members of our discord. We'll use this last week to polish everything as much as possible and further optimize where we can (it's already running about as smoothly as the demo did). We want to thank everyone for their patience and support and we can't wait until you can all get your hands on what we've been developing!
As always, you can join the conversation and share your input over on our discord. Happy Adventuring!
A little behind schedule...
Hello, everyone.
Before I get into the bad news of it, I'd like to take this chance to thank everyone who's taken the time to download the demo of the game so far. At the time of this announcement it's been downloaded just under 1,000 times and we've seen a significant increase in wishlist additions as a result. You're all amazing and the support and kind words we've received along with all the feedback and constructive criticism means a lot to us. Thank you!
Now for the bad news: we're behind schedule. We spent the first half of the month moving cross country (driving from South Florida to Oregon in a moving truck) and setting up our new home. It's amazing how many things need to be done when moving into a new place, from unpacking and setting up rooms to the seemingly endless trips to the store for things you forget you need until you don't have them. At any rate, we underestimated just how much time we'd have to dedicate to the whole process.
We're nearly where we want to be with the game, but there's still some small things to iron out and we'll need some time to test everything before releasing it to the public. We're as annoyed as you are about the delay (almost definitely more so, in fact), but we're of the mind that if you're going to ask people to part with their money for something, you'd better make the product you're offering worth it. So, with that in mind, we're going to need just a little more time. We've learned the hard way (twice now) that setting dates without being absolutely sure you can meet them is setting yourself up for disappointment, so we won't schedule a new release date just yet, but we're hopeful and reasonably sure that it won't be more than a couple weeks late.
We apologize for the delay and thank you for your patience. We promise it'll be worth the wait!
As always, we invite you to join us in our discord to share your thoughts about the game and VR as a whole, or even just to hang out and chat with other gamers and VR enthusiasts. Happy adventuring!
Demo Live/Release Delayed
Today's announcement is a 2-parter and bittersweet. On the one hand, the demo for the game has just gone live, so if you've been waiting to try it out for yourself, now's the time to get in there and begin your adventure!
On the other hand, we've had to make the difficult decision recently to delay our launch into early access. Between the game needing a bit more polish and some of the content not being ready, to moving cross-country, we've come to the conclusion that an extra month of development time will do the game a world of good. The new release date is set for September 28th. We hope to see you all when the day comes, but in the meantime there's the demo. The demo is essentially the first hour of the game(and your progress carries over into the main game when it releases), so if you'd like to hit the ground running when the first dungeon is released, this is your opportunity. Happy adventuring, everyone!
The steam page is now live!
Greetings, everyone!
It's my pleasure to announce to the Steam community, our game, Vengeful Rites! We've been developing the game for just over 6 months now and we're extremely excited to finally be able to show something for all the work we've been doing. The game has come a long way in a relatively short time and we're poised to move forward with even more energy and excitement now that we can start forming a community around it. Please, take a look around and share the page with your friends if you like what you see! If you're interested in keeping a close eye on development or sharing your thoughts about the game, we have a discord set up for that very reason which can be found here --> https://discord.gg/VrQ5vUG
Thanks for checking us out! Stay tuned for more info as we get closer to release. We hope you'll all enjoy Vengeful Rites when we launch into Early Access later this summer!
