Progress Update #2



Heyo folks! Thought I'd fill you in on what I've been up to this past month regarding Vex Clock's development and other projects.

Development



I recently finished Act 2 this month and have been moving onto working on Act 3's additional gameplay segments and cutscenes. I've got a lot to do but I'm hoping to finish it all by the end of the year. Looking forward to beginning development on Act 4, gonna be a bit ambitious compared to most of the work I've done lately on the previous acts.

Considering I'm working on a majority of this game on my own and juggling other projects, I'm still genuinely impressed I ended up finishing act 2 when I did. Don't want to strain myself with deadlines of course, but I like to give y'all a bit of transparency on what I'm doing, where I'm at, what I've got left to finish and try to complete it all in a timely manner.

Other Projects



I mentioned "juggling other projects" before, so let me elaborate on that for a bit! Some of you may know about my Patreon and how I try to keep stuff updated over there with new games and builds for previously released games to try and keep things fresh. Back in September I was spending most of my time working on a large content update for one of my temporary Patron exclusive games, Dave.EXE. Ended up spending roughly 4 weeks to complete the Otherworldly Contracts update, but I'm pretty proud about how it turned out! If you wish to check that out, take a gander at the spotlight trailer I released for it back in early October.












Aside from that project, I plan on getting a one year anniversary update for a previous game of mine quickly wrapped up for late November, so I may be spending less time on Vex Clock during that month. I will say though, once that's completed I should be able to work on Vex Clock full time and wrap up Act 3 before the year ends.

Final Thoughts

Progress Update #1



Hello and welcome to this relatively short progress update post. Wanted to talk a bit about where I'm at currently and what's to come.

Development



As of right now, acts 1-3 are complete, with some cutscenes and additional gameplay segments missing. I've yet to begin development on the final act until I've polished and finished up everything I need to do with the first three acts. Here's what it's looking like so far.

Act 1
Gameplay = 100% Complete
Cutscenes = 100% Complete
Final Pass = Done

Act 2
Gameplay = 100% Complete
Cutscenes = 45% Complete
Final Pass = [Null]

Act 3
Gameplay = 60% Complete
Cutscenes = 15% Complete
Final Pass = [Null]

Act 4
Gameplay = 0% Complete
Cutscenes = 0% Complete
Final Pass = [Null]

Currently focusing on getting Act 2's cutscenes done before I start looking over everything one last time and moving onto polishing the next act. Really happy with the pace I'm going with this and should hopefully start up on Act 3 by October.

Reception



So far the reception I've gotten from the Patreon exclusive demo has been very positive and I'm super happy to hear that! As some folks know, I've mostly been one to dabble in the horror genre and working in team based projects. So making a solo game like this, something that's more of a personal project and a style of gameplay that's more or less out of my comfort zone to get positive reception means the world to me.
