Steam Achievements, World Market and a final cutscene.
Hi all,
I managed to get a build ready just in time for the weekend! As you will see there is now a new icon on the top menu bar, a little devil face which represents your followers and the world markets. More on that below.
Steam Achievements The Steam achievements are finally in the game! ( if you played this week, you might have caught a few of them already) .So far, there are 13 of them, if you think of new and interesting ones, please send those ideas my way, it might make it into the game!
World Market The game now features a world market where you can see your impact on the heavy metal market share. Gather followers by offering customers a nice experience and dominate the industry!
On day 5 I added a short tutorial to explain how it works, so it’s a good idea to start a new game. ( As usual! )
A final cutscene A final cut scene has been added when you complete the Sigil of Baphomet.
Sigil of Baphomet. Once the Sigil is completed, it become a tool to help you gather more followers, which in turn helps you gain more market share. This needs more testing, but it’s almost there!
A few more sounds A few more sounds have been added or adjusted. I all now feel pretty complete.

Queuing, The Exorcist and the two last customers.

Let’s start the week with an update!
Vintage Records from Hell has been in early access all summer and should officially be released Friday! The release version is almost ready...I just have a few adjustments and story text to add here and there. Which means I’m going to have a hell of a busy week!
Here’s what you can find in this update :
Queues. Awhile back I designed two queuing system in the game. A queue for the clients in line at the cash register and a second one that is used when manually filling up the record racks. Both of them had issues. This weekend, both got optimized/redesigned to work properly.
The Exorcist Skill 7 – The Exorcist never really worked. ( Yeah, I know right!) It was finally properly implemented over the weekend.
Fixes • Client Cash register Queue has been optimized/redesigned. • Record Rack refill Queue was optimized/redesigned.
New Stuff! • Two last customer characters have been added. • Shadows have been added to the record racks. • New sounds have been added throughout the game.
What’s next!? • I still need to write and create the final cut scene. • Some character dialog needs to be updated. • Some game text needs to be updated. • Some final UI adjustments are coming.

Open Store Actions, more Tooltips and Sound Design.
Hi all,
The last few days have been mostly focus on getting the game ready for a larger audience. This means revisiting some tooltips, creating new ones and adding better visual cues to help navigate the player in the early stages of the game.
Open Store Action You can now see all the store action before opening the store and each one has a text explaining how to unlock it or what it does.
Sound design We are doing a final push on the sound design which includes new sounds and adjusted old sounds. It’s still not perfect, so if you have comments or suggestions, send them my way. Additional game sounds.
Tooltips A few tooltips adjustments have been done to the game and question marks have been added to the interface so the player can learn more about the mechanics of the game.

Fix and Tweaks As always, a few fix and tweaks have been done to the game which together should enhance the overall player experience.

New Weather and weather forecast + more UI updates.

I wanted to give you all a chance to experience the new weather system as soon as possible so today we have an update dedicated to this new feature.
New weather system. The game now has weather...and if it rains, you will have fewer customers. You also have a 4 days forecast to help you plan ahead.
Vinyl Junkies Story Tasks, Simulation Tweaks and Occult skills.
It’s Friday and I wanted to give you all an update before the weekend. As always, tons of work made it into the new build and while a lot of testing has been done, testing remains ongoing.
Store Simulation The store simulation is getting a fairly large update and I am in the middle of it. So there is more to come but for now here are some of the new adjustments.
• The popularity impact on the customers coming to the store has been adjusted. • The process time at the cash register has been adjusted to be quicker. • Default search time at the record racks has been reduced. • Store was limited to 6 clients at a time, now the limit is 8. ( Note : The number of racks also limits the number of clients willing to shop. Too few racks and too many clients overcrowds the store.)
There is still an issue with the store getting overcrowded due to too much marketing in the late part of the game. This will be adjusted in the next update.
Occult Skills. One major enhancement is how the Occult skills are displayed in the interface. These bonuses are now clearly displayed in the Sigil of Baphomet Tooltip.
Additionally, if you look around the interface, in tooltips or windows you will notice that a few black boxes have been added with the words No Bonus.
Once an Occult skill has been unlocked, these will display a red box, the name of the unlocked skill and the effect is has on the game element.
In example : When you unlock the Devils Worship skill, you will find on the Devil worshipping action a box saying : [ Devils Worship +Speed ]
Vinyl Junkies Story Tasks. In addition to the normal game tasks, we now have Vinly Junkies Story Tasks. These are tasks located in the Seller Roster. Each seller has a task and completing all eight tasks will unlock the 11th symbol which is used to open the gates of hell.
Code fix and adjustments • Bug in the rack refill systems where racks at lvl 4 would no longer refill properly has been fixed. • Refill 7 and 8 did not have the right number of records. • Prestige points Save/Load sync issue fixed. • The Tattooist skill was not properly saving the bonus. • Tasks button fade is now quicker. • Fix the worship the devil button persistence. • The seller conversations now unlock the Story Tasks. • Story Tasks now unlocks the 11th symbol.
New Art! • The cyclist and the skateboard dude are now in color! • Night city looks has been updated! • Cars now have headlights and bright tail lights at night. • The final Seller / Vinyl Junkie illustration has been added to the game! • Secret 11th symbol art added to the game.
What’s coming? • General interface enhancements. • Final cut scene / game finale. • 4 more clients for the simulation. • ...we are still missing some dialogs/tasks and task information...

Story, Task system and UI - Major update

A few players mentioned the latest update made the game quite difficult so it was important to update it as soon as possible – which means today!
On the downside, a few of the items which will be present in this build are very much work in progress. On the upside, this will give you all a chance to try the new tasks system, experience some of the story and conversations and enjoy the new enhancements!
Story and conversations • An intro cinematic has been added to the game. • Each candle you place on the pentagram now unlocks a story conversation. • Conversations regarding collecting vinyl records have been added.
Additionally, a bunch of interface enhancements have made it into this build.
UI enhancements • Bulk record view is now smaller. • Tabs have been adjusted in Finances and Graph view to give better visual feedback + smaller. • The Graph view now has proper toggle buttons for the subgenre curves. • Graph view now more descriptive ( numbers, title...) • Vintage Collection now displays subgenre album amounts. • Employee view is now a tad bigger for larger character avatars.
Karma You now lose Karma when you decide not to buy a record from a seller. ( Pressing the SKIP button. )
Mobile phone The mobile phone chats/replies are now quicker.
Selling vintage records You can now remove the offer to sell a vintage records.
New stuff! • The Art for the marketing guru has been added. • The art for Seller 3 has been added. • 2 new songs are now part of the game playlist.
This is a major update a previous saved game files won’t be compatible, so be prepared to start fresh.

Marketing Guru, Information Field and Simulation Actions.
Hi all,
A lot of tiny changes and enhancements have gone into the build since last Friday and as the official release date for this game is getting closer and closer, today felt like the right time to share them all with you.
In no particular order...here is a list of them :
Marketing Guru. You now have to hire a Marketing Guru to handle your marketing tasks.
Information Field. The information field was mostly used by the tutorial sequence but now it also plays an important role during the simulation. This first integration will display : New customers and what they are doing, things like Browsing, Queuing, Buying...It will also display when your have priced your albums too high.
Insufficient funds The information field will now display insufficient funds. I’ve also added a neat little Cash Register animation and a sound to make things clearer.
Simulation Actions Now each Action needs to be unlocked by the player.
• Working on Finance. ( Active by default. ) • Worshipping the Devil. ( Given after the tutorial.) • Organizing Albums. ( When upgrading Rack A. ) • Helping Cashier. ( When upgrading the Cash Register. ) • Walking Billboard. ( Activated in the Marketing View. )
Build mode Further tweaks have been done to the Build mode so it is easier to understand. • Menu buttons hidden. • Information about item level added. • Better item names in some cases. • Item panel relocated to Top Left corner
Stock view I’ve updated the Stock view to feature the market price of albums more clearly. Additionally I’ve moved the Sell off Stock button from the finances view to this window.
Daily Results You can now access the Stock View from the Daily Results page.
Adjustments • Now selling off your stock results in a 10% loss in value. • Now most of the marketing option needs the Marketing Guru to be accessible.

Interface changes, fixes and tweaks.
While the Task system is still incomplete and the story aspect of the game is still being written, lots of things are getting adjusted under the hood and it now feels like a good time to push a new update.
Here is a list of all the new stuff you will find in this update.
Main Menu Took some time to tidy up a bit the main menu.
Interface changes As you start the game, you will notice some new changes to the interface. The Build button, the Cellphone button, the Marketing button and the Finances button are gone! They have been replaced by scene elements. ( Diegetic ) The Cash register now opens the Finances view. The Architecture plans turn on the building mode. The flyers open the marketing view. ...and the cellphone opens the cellphone view. ( Bonus : the cellphone now blinks and shakes when you have a message! )
Simulation Actions The simulation action interface has also changed to be easier to grasp.
Keyboard Shortcuts By popular demand shortcuts have been added to the build. Since some menus are not accessible during the store simulation and at midnight, it’s possible I will need to do a few adjustments...still, you can now use shortcuts!
Followers Now satisfied clients become followers. This will come into play in later stages of the game.
Sigil of Baphomet This thing isn’t completed yet, but some very important changes are in this current build. You now always have access to the Worship the devil action. This is now the only way to acquire skill points.
Tasks While the tasks system now works, in this update you will only have 4 tasks. Many more will be offered in the next build.
The Record Racks The record rack view which appears during simulation now displays the amount of album sold and the current selling price.
Loans Loans are now updated based on open business days.
Fixes and tweaks • There is now a greater change the sellers will bargain prices with you. • Character Karma Color bar display has been updated. ( Easier to understand.)
New Characters! Finally, I’ve received the art for the day and the night cashiers!
I take great care to deliver an update which should be bug free, but with so many changes going in this build, it’s possible to encounter some strange behaviors. If by any chance you come across something that doesn’t behave as it should, please let me know ASAP. Thanks!

Full screen, new characters and a few adjustments!
Hi all,
Despite spending most of my time in coffee shops writing more story for this game, I did find time over the weekend to prepare a new build!
First, The game now has Full Screen support and now supports many 16:9 resolution. Thanks for your patience on this one, it was a long time coming.
Second, During the last update, changes in the Tutorial broke some of the interaction during the buying phase of vintage vinyl records. ( Thanks thebluesbaker for the info! ) This affected the Buy and Skip button. This is now fixed!
Some changes… The Candles on the Sigil of Baphomet will now only appear once you unlock the skills themselves.
New art! We now have 4 fully rendered customers!
