Early Access Patch notes 0.6.1.0 23th December 2024
We are pleased to announce an update for the game just before Christmas holidays.
In this update we have performed a second step of improvements on the Paris Arena Stadium, now we have crowd and the ambience is rising up.
We fixed some issues related to ranking in tournaments, now both local and online tournaments (i.e. with leaderboards) are properly accounting the progression, don't hesitate to try them, as in the future some of the content will be unlockable with the ranking points,
Meanwhile will you be able to be in the top 12 players ?
Let's enjoy volleyball at its best in virtual reality !

Update 6 enhances the volleyball skills of players and add a new character
Volleyball players are continually improving, and now they can serve with the same skill as the top players in the sport!
Can you achieve victory against them on hard and pro difficulty levels ?
From the vibrant courts of Brazil, a new volleyball sensation named Callista has risen, ready to spike her way to fame and become a fierce competitor on the global stage.
We have successfully implemented the initial phase of team customization, allowing players to select characters and assemble teams for individual matches.
We improved slightly the graphics for Paris Arena Stadium and there is still work planned to improve it in the next update.
The demo has also been updated with the latest stability fixes however the new player moves and the new content are not available.

We're excited to announce a new minor update packed with quality of life enhancements for an even better experience.
Gameplay
Visual Hints
We intend to introduce a series of optional visual hints for roomscale profile and no teleport modes. In this update, we have added an upward arrow that indicates the optimal sweet spot for executing a jump during a volleyball spike.
Quality of life improvements
Fix wrong orientation of online player avatar in roomscale setting after smooth turning with controllers

Early Access Patch notes 0.5.0.2 28 August 2024
We are pleased to release this minor update that will improve game balance and add some usefull profiles for different VR space configurations.
Gameplay
Added Roomscale profile for VR Position
This setting is perfect for VR Arcades or large play areas, as it allows you to be fully in control of your movement without any teleports or assistance.
Added VR Teleports settings menu
We moved the teleport options and the auto look at ball option into this main menu option, so that you can change them for all the matches (online, local). The VR Position profile setting is also saved and loaded so you don't need to reapply them. The VR Position selected at boot will predefine theses options depending on the profile selected (seated, standing, roomscale).
Added Smooth turn option for controllers
Some of the players wished to have smooth movement for turning, in the teleport setting we have added an option for smooth turn instead of snap turn when rotating with the controller.
Difficulty level balancing
After the recent adjustments, we found it necessary to restore some balance to the easy and medium difficulty levels, this is a work that will be ongoing for a few updates.
Misc
Various quality of life fixes. Fix for orientation shifted when Ending a Set with no teleports and or no autolook enabled. Fix for case where the torso of online avatar could be opposite to the head orientation

Update 5
Summer is the perfect season for outdoor volleyball, but we're dedicated to improving Highline, working tirelessly to enhance your gaming experience for the upcoming autumn and winter.
We have some great news, today we are excited to deliver the 0.5 version of our game,
The game's update pace has recently decelerated as we've tackled complex features. After months of dedicated effort, here are the exciting changes:
Online multiplayer
2 vs 2 game mode Previously we added the 1 VS 1 with multi touches (passing onto self, for allowing attacks) but now we are adding the 2 vs 2 mode where each online player is in a team and has a cpu assisted teammate.
Online avatar hand orientation fix
Single player
4 vs 4 game mode In this mode your play area is smaller and you have more teammates to assist, however you need to have more strategies to be able to win.
Front Block behavior for Joey Our surfer is getting this new skill, this is changing a lot the matches especially in 4 vs 4. This behavior will be further improved in later patches.
Engine
Various optimizations and quality fixes
What's next ?
We will have a series of minor patches before reaching update 6. We can't wait to release the update 6, more content and gameplay will be added.

Hi everyone, Highline Volleyball VR is improving today, This udpate is still minor but improves greatly the gameplay for both PC & Quest platforms thanks to optimizations and improved interactions.
Gameplay
Added a referee character (not available in the free Demo)
Improved online 1 VS 1 mode (online is not available in the free Demo)
Improved both PC and Meta Quest gameplay and interactions
Fix Demo does not return to desktop at the end of the trial but rather to main menu
Engine
Lot of optimizations (framerate has been improved by 50%)
Lot of work for features that are to be announced lately

Fix auto look at volleyball option bug that was forcing the point of view as soon as the ball was out of sight. Now by default this option is enabled but only focus the ball when having to perform a reception.

Added live stream mode for greater fidelity when recording a VR gameplay, the live stream mode handles 16:9 and 9:16 ratios.

Join a single player 2 VS 2 match
Great news for VR Gamers :
We released the free demo of Highline Volleyball VR. Join the court now and experience a single player 2 VS 2 match.
The demo give you access to the tutorial and is allowing a match of 1 set in 2 or 5 points at Six Coconut Beach.
To spice up your match you can also try the different level of difficulty.

Update 4 And Online Multiplayer 1 VS 1
Great news,
Update 4 is here and brings up many additions.
We have been working hard with a main focus to implement the core functionalities for online multiplayer, this is a stepping stone for more elaborated gameplays.
We are also improving hand interactions and single player behaviors.
Here is a detailed list of improvement :
Experimental 1 VS 1 Online multiplayer
In this game mode you are allowed to perform consecutive touches, as an example you can set yourself for a spike.
Private (friends only) and public lobbies along with a spectator mode are available, Up to 2 spectators can join your games.
Gameplay
The auto teleport has been improved and is now detecting automatically the kind of reception to perform based on your hand posture : simply join both hands under the chest for a platform/bump , or keep hands appart for a set or high pass.
Some volleyballs models has been added to further personnalize your games. We introduced some temporary voice effects for adding life to the games.
Underhand serve is easier, now you can perform an underhand serve by just closing the fist and hitting from below the ball when it's attached to the other hand.
