New scandinavian map is now available in stable branch of Virtual-O! Basically 10 months of development which was living separate in beta branch is now available for everyone as default.
What do you need to do? Well basically nothing. Stable branch is now automatically replaced with newest version of Virtual-O. And players which were using beta branch can still stay on it.
It will be same version as stable till new beta branch update will arrive.
Landvetter-Tahult
This area is dominated by large wetlands and sparse low-growing pine trees with good visibility
Size of terrain is 2x2km
Here is nice gameplay video from this map made by Grehninator
Speed of some symbols were improved in the meantime, but you can get nice idea how new map looks.

In rare case when update wouldn't work for you, you could still switch back to legacy branch
Here is guide for that:
1. First report your problem to email specified in main menu. And it would be fixed ASAP
2. Right click on Virtual-O in Steam library. Choose Properties -> Betas
3. Pick legacy branch in beta dropdown
4. New build will start to download

Funny map for share?
Aside from working on big new maps. I would like to add bunch of tricky and funny maps. I'm pretty sure that you know them from Catching Features. For example something like this:
I wanted to do this long ago, but only now I feel that core architecture is stable enough to produce maps more massively.
Let me know if you already have OCADs which you would like to share. Or if you an talented OCAD map maker with great ideas for simple but tricky maps like this, contact me please.
It could be an microsprint map from interesting location or even fantasy map will cool idea.
Basic point of these maps is that they are pretty straightforward to create but still very funny to play.
Thanks!
Peter

Corridor training on its way
This is new exciting feature which would enable you to move your map training to next level. You can read more about corridor training here:
Basically Virtual-O will give you possibility to overlay an image over existing map image. So you can hide some parts of the map, create corridors or create even more crazy map trainings.
Did you ever wonder why you cannot change course conditions in first run?
Today I would like to explain some competitions/courses concepts.Virtual-O has two different types of courses. Local and Online.
Local
Online
Please note that re-run result wouldn't be uploaded to cloud. As only first run offers fair conditions for all players. Here is screenshot of selected course which is ready to perform your first run. It has status Ready and type Online. Conditions are greyed out as they are read-only.
In second screenshot I have selected course where only Re-run is available. Its status is Rerun and type Online. Conditions are now editable.

Get a look on exciting gameplay video from new Landvetter-Tahult map made by GREHNINATOR. Please note that this map is still work in progress. And it's available only in Virtual-O beta branch.
What do you mean with beta branch?
Some brave users wants to see new stuff ASAP. They are willing to accept some discomfort caused by rougher state of the build.
Well and beta branch is for them. It contains newest (possibly less stable) builds of Virtual-O which contains latest features but may be not polished
enough.
