Product recall notice: Tydybot and Tydierbot. Attention consumers, Tydy has issued a product recall notice for our popular cleaning robots. There is no need to be alarmed, however, consumers should avoid wearing orange clothing in the vicinity of a Tydybot that has not yet been recalled for reprogramming. Tydy’s sophisticated cleaning AI has been found to identify orange clothing as dirty, dirty mess that must be vacuumed away. Tydy cannot be held responsible for asphyxiation, detached eyeballs or damaged clothing that results from ignoring this safety warning!
On Tydy ships, you’ll find Tydybots. They are armed with an extremely powerful vacuum suction device - so powerful that it drains your oxygen! While Tydybot is draining your oxygen, you’ll see the bubbles of air escaping from your pressure suit. If you’re fast enough, you can recover your depleted oxygen by grabbing those precious air bubbles!
Tydybots are also excellent at tidying up random junk lying around a ship. If a Tydybot detects junk lying around, it’ll swiftly maneuver to vacuum it up, preventing you from adding it to your inventory. If you destroy a Tydybot though, it’ll drop all of the junk it has collected!
NEW TYDY SHIP MODULE - WELCOME TO THE COMBUSTION CHAMBER
Attention spacefarers! Everyone knows that nebula radiation really dries out your skin, but did you also know that’s it is highly mutagenic? Even worse, if your spacecraft is full of mutants, it’s likely also full of dirty, messy junk!
Why not let Tydy clean your vessel? Our bots collect junk and then transport it in our custom Tydy vans to a Tydy Furnace ship where it is incinerated in our safe and environmentally sensitive combustion chambers!
Are you almost dead? Life support system critical? Don’t have the necessary parts to build a Heart Starter and revive yourself? The all new Combustion Chamber has you covered.
Ships equipped with a Combustion Chamber have a furnace passcard stashed somewhere on the ship. Find it, and it’ll give you access to the furnace. Inside is a glorious Heart Starter! Unfortunately for you, looks like someone left the furnace on, so hopefully you’ll have enough health left to wade through a bit of fire first.
TYDY DLC - WATCH OUT FOR WHACKUUM ABUSE!
SAFETY WARNING: unauthorised use of Tydy devices to generate vacuum effects is illegal and dangerous! Careless use of unsanctioned vacuum devices can cause blood loss and result in extensive damage to robots and other mechanical entities.
WCG staff have informed us that citizens may refer to use of such illicit devices as “getting whacky” and that certain criminal elements may even use extracted blood to “jack up” in preparation for lawless activities. Other “whacky” activities may include extracting slag from robots for resale on the black market.
Tydy cannot be held responsible for any damage incurred by improper use of Tydy equipment!
-The Tydy management team
Get sucking with the Whackuum, your new health-recovery and damage-dealing tool.
The Whackuum syphons enemy health...and gives it to you! The longer you target a single enemy - the faster their health is drained, perfect for wreaking havoc on bulky enemies like Screws. You can even suck the nuts and bolts right out of mechanical foes!
Addendum: New content for Void Bastards
Dear client, we have recently received a number of submissions of Form 93-Q: request for additional information pursuant to upcoming software updates. Although “additional information” can be dangerous for most clients, our busy scribes have a response which you may read below. Be aware that Form 93-Q has now been discontinued and is replaced by Form 93-R*.
Some of you have been asking what exactly is going to be in our first big content update, what exactly is it called and when it’s going to be released.
The update is Workplace Challenges, not Nemesis, as you may have read in some places. It includes the following content which we’ll be detailing over the coming few weeks:
The workplace challenges themselves, which challenge you to complete the game under new rules that will force you to play differently (and smarter). These challenges will be free for all players.
The Tydy DLC which includes an entirely new organisation with its own ships, a new opponent and a new weapon. This DLC will be paid for (price still TBD). Don’t worry, it won’t be very much.
Extra content for the main game including a new opponent, many new ship types and more. This content will also be free!
That just leaves the question of release date, to which the answer is: soon but we don’t know exactly when yet as we haven’t finished making all of the above (also we’re trying to get some sleep after shipping the game last month).
* Form 93-R not yet available due to paper shortages.
VOID BASTARDS - CHALLENGE MODES + DLC?! HELL YES.
Dear Client,
Thank you for cooperating with WCG administrative procedures to facilitate the return of the Void Ark. Your performance has been noted and we are pleased to inform you that additional workplace challenges are now being prepared. These challenges will test your occupational competencies as never before! Can you lift your KPIs and push your personal performance envelope to the limit?
Hey everyone! We know you’ve been hankering for some new content for Void Bastards. We heard you, and we’ll be rolling out some FREE challenge modes to completely change the way you navigate through the Sargasso Nebula. We're still ironing out the details but expect challenges like: stealthing your way past super tough enemies, being forced to rely on amped up authorisation skills to take over ship systems and managing a super fast but hard to control client. Did we mention this will all be FREE?
Have you noticed how dirty the Sargasso Nebula is? Tydy did and is standing by to deploy its fleet of cleaning vessels and automated cleaning units to really spruce things up. Warning: don’t stand too near a Tydy Bot as their dirt recognition units have been known to malfunction when exposed to nebula radiation.
Translation: we are also working on DLC with an entirely new organization, complete with a new opponent, new ships and never before seen rewards!
Stay tuned for more news next week about the NEW WEAPON in our upcoming DLC!

Pre-Release Test Beta Now Available
Hi, we've created a new beta of the game which we will be using for the latest patches before they are released. If you would like to preview what's coming and help us test new builds, please consider switching to this beta using the following process:
Navigate to your Steam library.
Right click on Void Bastards and select Properties.
Select the Betas tab.
Enter the super secret beta access code: voidbastards.
Push the check code button.
Now select prerelease - latest prerelease test build from the drop down menu.
When you return to the library, Steam should now automatically download the latest prerelease build (assuming you have the game set to automatically update).
Note that this prelease build is exactly that. It may contain bugs or other errors so you should not install this beta if you are concerned about potentially losing your progress or otherwise experiencing problems with the game.
If you do wish to install this prerelease test beta you will greatly help us if you can report any issues with it in the forums or on our Discord. Please mark any such reports as "prerelease beta" so that we know which build of the game you are reporting on. You can also check the build version by opening the game console with Alt ~ and typing version.
Thanks for your help!

Fixed amounts in the various health upgrade descriptions.
Fixed wording in health upgrade description (Russian).
Fixed a portrait that had two sets of hair.
Moved turret projectile spawn so that it is no longer possible to stand right next to a turret and be safe.

Vsync default setting is applied correctly (before vsync is changed in options).
Fixed progress part location arrow disappearing when a target ship is in the exact center of the nebula map.

Don’t show the BACS prompt to build a glow bulb if you have already built the part locater.
Don’t allow bringing up the full screen map over the introductory screen at the start of the tutorial.
Removed some couches that created a small gap that the player could get stuck in in the spin and win module.
Stop radiation audio feedback when you are incurring radiation from an irradiated enemy and that enemy dies.
Spin terminal uses counter updated to use numbers instead of green lights.

VOID BASTARDS EXTRA MODE - FOON UNLOCKED!
Looking for an extra challenge? We’ve got you covered.
If you thought Ironman difficulty was tough, wait until you unlock the Foon. Here’s how you do it:
1. Finish Void Bastards on any difficulty to unlock Ironman difficulty
2. Finish Void Bastards on Hard Bastard + Ironman
3. You’ve unlocked the Foon game modifier
4. Start a new game
5. Enjoy your newfound cutlery
Foon mode allows you to ONLY use the Foon. No other weapons or devices can be used.
The upside is that the Foon allows you to backstab for one hit kills! Otherwise, it just does 10 damage. You might have a hard time with Secbots and Peepers.
