I did some rather big updates to movement in VolChaos, please let me know what you think of the changes. Namely they relate to a more gradual acceleration of the player and no longer allowing you to accelerate once in the air (probably something that should have been happening all along).
Please let me know what you think good or bad as it was a rather drastic change from what there was there before.
Better Leaderboard support
I just pushed out an update that better integrates leaderboards into the game. Now if you pause the game and at the end of levels, you'll see where you rank against other fastest times (previously you could get to this through the Steam UI but I believe a lot of people probably were not).
I think a future update will have a leaderboards option from the main menu too that lets you browse everything, but this is at least a start.
Trading Cards
Good news everyone who enjoys good news, I've added support to VolChaos for Steam Trading cards. I hope everyone enjoys them, they seem to be a feature people want.
Fourth Early Access Update
Late last night I pushed out another update to VolChaos. Two main things with this update (besides minor cleanup)...
1. Added a deadzone toggle in the options screen. If you're having issues with your controller drifting in one direction all the time, try ramping this up and it will hopefully resolve that.
2. After you get a high score, just above the normal level summary stuff it will display that score and what your overall rank is.
Note that it takes a second or two to appear, this is because of the back and forth happening with Steam to save and retrieve the new rankings.
If nothing appears, then that means you haven't beaten your previous score.
I don't think there is a lot left to do on VolChaos before moving from Early Access to full release. Thanks for all the comments and suggestions so far. If you've got anymore, please send them quickly.

Leaderboards are here!
The latest update to VolChaos adds leaderboards for fastest time on all 60 levels. It's not retroactive so it won't pick up your old scores, but I'm looking forward to how I stack against everyone going forward.
Here's a tip... Expert levels don't have gems. Missing gems on normal levels is a time penalty. So playing the Expert level versions of levels will likely yield you the fastest times.
Second Early Access Update Released
Yesterday I released the second update to VolChaos on Early Access. Changes this time include...
All expert levels tweaked for difficulty.
A couple levels that were too difficult to collect all gems were tweaked.
New level intro graphics for levels that previously repeated old intro graphics.
Minor UI updates.
I'm gonna look into adding leaderboard support I think so we can all compare our fastest times. I'm not promising I'm adding it, just that I'll be exploring adding it.
First Early Access Update Release
Earlier today I pushed out the first update to VolChaos on Steam Early Access. The biggest change with this update is the addition of Steam Achievement! I know a few of you have been asking for that feature and I'm happy VolChaos finally has it.
This update also included a few level tweaks from levels that were unbalanced / too difficult or just not as fun as they should have been and a few bug fixes.
The next update will include more tweaked levels, mainly rebalancing all the Expert levels and then addressing any feedback you, the loyal gamer, provide me. Please please please let me know your thoughts and suggestions!
VolChaos out now on Early Access
VolChaos is now available on Early Access. If you get it right away, you'll be paying half the release cost and be able to contribute feedback as we complete the game.
