Repairs 🔧 Our team has been working on quality-of-life fixes to fold into releases so that as we expand the game we don't diminish its quality or polish. This release includes fixes for:
Showing/saving on-course hole records
Preserving player Grip-to-Putter V2 settings between play sessions
Readjustments to Ice Lair's ice cube physics
Local-player visuals during interrupted replays in Multiplayer sessions
Rideable platforms on specific courses, such as Shangri-La's gondolas
Practice-to-course multiplayer room crashes
Buy & Play Players must update to the latest 5.4 version of the Walkabout game (regardless of if they purchase the latest DLC course) to ensure gameplay and multiplayer functionality. Note for Pocket Edition Players: 8-Bit Lair will not be available on Pocket Edition upon launch as our team works to optimize the course for mobile. We have released a patch that updates Pocket Edition to maintain cross-play parity, which includes some mobile-specific fixes.

Mars Garden Course: Low-gravity Mode
Ground Control to Major Tom, golf balls are clear for takeoff with our new Low-gravity Custom setting! Users can find this course modifier listed under the 'Custom' tab on the course selection window, with a toggle for Normal and Low gravity settings. This setting is only available to play on the Mars Gardens course. Note: Course records will not save while using a course modifier (e.g. Low-gravity). Active course modifiers will be listed on the expanded course scorecard view, by clicking on the scorecard's lower righthand 3 dots.

Our team has added support for re-joining Race Mode and Match Mode sessions.
Course Reset Button
Want to hit replay? Players can now restart a course without exiting to Main Menu! Navigate to the 'Reset Course' button through the course scorecard view, under the 'Course' tab. Note: This setting is only available in single-player rounds.

Updates and Fixes Avatar UI Updates 👒 We’ve made some UI changes to the Avatar section of the Shack, allowing players to see all Avatar cosmetics (even unowned ones) and purchase either the associated DLC or standalone Avatar Pack, if you don’t own it already. Owned Avatar cosmetics will appear first, followed by unowned pieces.
Driving Range and Scorecard Updates 🎯 Our new 'All Targets' mode allows players to time how long it takes to hit all of our practice targets; some targets have had tweaks to their placement and sizing. This update also expands scorecard information, which now shows the player name on the expanded view of the course scorecard. This is viewable by entering God Mode to view the course scores, and then clicking the bottom right-hand 3 dots on the card.
Guest Pass Bug Fix 🪲 Our Guest Pass system had a bug in the previous release that allowed players to collect lost balls and complete Foxhunts while utilizing Guest Pass. This has now been fixed. Note: Collectibles earned within this bug window will NOT be removed from player inventory.

June 2024 Player Update with Walkabout Creator
Hey everybody!
The year is halfway through and already so much has happened. Thank you so much for your ongoing support! I wanted to update everyone on what’s coming up for Walkabout Mini Golf…
We’ve recently announced that the “Wallace and Gromit” DLC is coming in July to Quest, PSVR2, Steam, and PICO players. It’s been a close partnership with Aardman and we think you’re going to love it! It’s chock full of gags, gadgets, and references from their many adventures. A few weeks ago we also announced our next licensed course: “Viva Las Elvis” coming early 2025. But we have so many more surprises before then, including a handful of new courses.
On the tech side, Pocket Edition for iOS has taken much longer than we anticipated but we appreciate all who have participated in the Open Public Beta to help us get it right. That’s still very much in the works and we’ll get it out the moment it is ready. At the same time, we’ve spent much of the past 2 years rebuilding the code architecture to allow for more modes, features, and improvements that were never anticipated when Walkabout was originally created as a solo project. We really appreciate your patience as we have taken the time to do this the right way, and the new game modes that just released are the tip of the iceberg in terms of what we are now able to build on this more flexible system. Expect to see more features, quality-of-life improvements, and some surprises moving forward!
Also, we’ll soon be trying out a few licensed avatar packs for $1.99, which will hopefully make it possible for us to pay for the licensing fees. This was inspired by the creative ways you all use our included avatars, and that library of included avatars will continue to expand. If enough of you like the licensed avatar packs, we’ll make more. If you don’t, we won’t. I know you all have many ideas for potential creative partners (as do we) and the best thing you can do to make those a reality is to keep playing and help spread the word. We are 100% independent, which means no investors, and we’re not reliant on things like ads or data mining to make our business work. Thanks to you, we’re totally player-funded, which allows us to make decisions based primarily on what delights you and us. Our goal is to keep this going by always evolving the game with you and the community at the center of our plans.

Cherry Blossom Remaster & Game Modes Out Now! 🌸
Our team has been hard at work for over a year to refactor our base game code, allowing us to develop and innovate exciting additions to the game that will fundamentally enhance playstyle. Walkabout Match Mode
Enjoy Walkabout’s spin on Matchplay! The player with the lowest score on a hole gets a point– players can tie for points. Most points wins.
Note: Players who intentionally leave a Match cannot re-enter. Our team is developing more safety nets for players who accidentally disconnect.
Race Mode
Players will putt simultaneously to see who can complete the course the quickest!
Note: Players cannot join a race late, and will be put into Observer mode.
Custom
Choose your own game mode, holes and turn order.
New Turn Orders
Honors (Standard)
The player who scored lowest on the previous hole gets to putt first on the next.
Distance
Whoever is furthest away from the hole gets to putt first.
Simultaneous
Players can golf simultaneously in traditional strokeplay rounds as well as Race Mode. Simultaneous turn order is not available for Match Mode.
Note: Due to technical and design constraints, we don't have any current plans for supporting real-time multiplayer ball collisions.
General Walkabout Updates
We have added new UI changes to our wrist display, Welcome Island shack, and scorecards.
Build Numbers
Users must update to the 5.1 version of our game to maintain a smooth gameplay experience and to utilize multiplayer rounds together. Licensed DLC Course "Viva Las Elvis" - Coming Early 2025!
Walkabout Mini Golf players around the world will join the entourage of the "King of Rock 'n' Roll" as a world of neon, sequins, and iconic scenes from Elvis Presley’s lyrics will soon come to life in an immersive, miniature golf adventure called “Viva Las Elvis”, coming to Virtual Reality and mobile platforms in early 2025!
This announcement coincides with the release of "Viva Las Vegas" that premiered 60 years ago today, starring Elvis and Ann Margaret, about two race car drivers also competing for romance. The poster read: "THAT GO-GĆ GUY AND THAT 'BYE-BYE GAL IN THE FUN CAPITAL OF THE WORLD!"
But that's not all! Today at Las Vegas' Licensing Expo we also announce our plans for upcoming, paid Avatar Packs that will include costume heads based on Elvis Presley, the characters of "The Dark Crystal," "Fraggle Rock, ""Exploding Kittens," and more! But that's not all. To celebrate our bundle, we're going back up into the mountains and returning to Shangri-La-La-La, our special remix of the course Shangri-La, created by our very own composer, Chris Reyman. So search for the Walkabout Mini Golf music pack in Synth Riders, and tee off in very different way!
Be sure to get in quickly though, as when the bundle ends on May 17, the song will vanish back into the mists of the Himalayas...
