Earlier during the Save and Sound showcase our making-of video of the Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef soundtrack aired. No need to worry for those who’ve missed it, or want to check it again in their own time. The video is embedded in this post, so you can watch it for the first time, or again, whenever you want.
In this video, our composer Deon van Heerden will let you have a look behind the scenes on the creation of the magnificent soundtrack. We’re going to take a look at the technical and stylistic considerations that went into it, the multi-intensity music system and, of course, how the Six Shootas track came together. All we wanted from him was to go hard!
Enjoy the video! :)
We are also very pleased to announce that the Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef soundtrack will be available for purchase when the game releases on October 20, 2022. Either individually or in a bundle with the game.
The OST will feature a grand total of 38 tracks, consisting of low intensity vibes, high intensity hype and the cutscene music.
To wrap up the talk on the soundtrack we would like to thank Deon van Heerden, Jo Ellis & Christian Burgess for making such awesome music and Adri Jordaan for doing the vocals in our theme song Shootas, Blood & Teef.
Join us July 14 - 18 right here on Steam for one of the largest digital expos about audio and music in games. Featuring concerts, deep-dives, and mashups from 70+ developers from all over the world. Prepare your eyes and ears for a unique event!
And in a celebration of game music, we couldn’t leave the Six Shootas out in the cold, right? For this special occasion our composer Deon van Heerden went to work and supplied us with one of the greatest making-of videos you’ll ever see! So be sure to tune into the show on Friday July 15th, starting 10am PDT / 7pm CEST.
The show will be streamed on the Save & Sound website. Check out all the games part of the event on saveandsound.io

Dev Update #9: Versus Mode
Oi Boyz!
In this Dev Update we are gonna chat a little bit about one feature we haven’t really touched upon yet and that is the versus mode!
In versus mode you’ll be able to take on your buddies in epic, all-out scraps where the winning person (or team) will get all the glory (and bragging rights)! This is the opportunity to show Gork, or Mork, what kind of Greenskin you are.
Versus mode can be accessed both local and online in three different game modes which we’ll be touching upon today. In total there will be seven of the fightiest arenas available for your pickings, with each arena made after a particular zone from the campaign. For example, there is the Concert arena that’s made after the Six Shoota stage.
The following game modes will be available in versus: Team Deathmatch This game mode is pretty straightforward. The players will be divided into two teams (clans) and will take on the other clan to reach a certain kill count the fastest. The team that makes enemy heads go splat the fastest wins! It’s as simple as that.
King of the Hill Same as with TDM the players will be split into two equal teams (clans). Different from Team Deathmatch is that the amount of kills doesn’t matter here. Making heads go splat is fun, but here it’s all about standing your ground in a certain highlighted area within the arena. The longer you can hold it, the more points you receive. In the end, the team with the longest time held will be King of the Hill, and crowned victor!
Juggernaut It’s every Boy for himself in this free-for-all game mode. Everyone is a target, and a threat at the same time. One Boy will start as the Juggernaut, and will receive a couple of boons like increased damage reduction and faster Waaagh generation. Whenever someone kills the Juggernaut, he will become the Juggernaut instead. And so on until the time is up. Whoever has been the Juggernaut the longest when the match finishes will be crowned victor!
Each game mode has the usual customizable settings for versus games like maximum game time, point cap and enabling/disabling certain weapons.
And what about the shinies? What are the rewards for beating up each other in the versus arena? First and foremost, you’ll be the undeniable fightiest git of your buddies, and receive the bragging rights to let all the other Boyz call you their Warboss! Next to the real life title of fightiest git, you’ll be able to unlock a couple of in-game cosmetics through the versus related achievements. These achievements unlock special hats so you can further flex your prowess in-game, bestowing fear in the hearts of those you’ll face next!
So yeah, that’s the overview of the versus mode! We hope lot’s of Boyz will have a blast fighting their friends for the title of fightiest git.
See you all in the arena on Orktober 20th!

We’ve seen a lot of positive messages come by on the soundtrack, the Boyz loving how Orky the song is. And we’ve got some good news for you! A making-of video will be released in a short while, giving you a unique view on how the music came about. So be sure to stay tuned for that.

Us Brainboyz have got some exciting news for you, innit. To celebrate Warhammer Skulls we will be expanding the Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef live demo with additional content! Some of you have already had the chance to play through this additional content at Warhammer World in late April, but now everyone will be able to!
What can you expect from the expanded demo? Let’s find out!
Extra Content
Comparing the expanded demo to the previous demo, we added a new level in the mix as well as an extra cutscene to look forward to. This added level will take you through the motion of becoming the dakka spewing menace you’ve always wanted to be and teaches you important concepts to find your way on Luteus Alpha. The other level that was already present in the previous demo will still be included, but it has been updated with the feedback given by the community.
The added cinematic will answer those pressing questions and paint the scene for what’s to come. Why are we on Luteus Alpha? How did we get there? And most of all, who's the snazzy Warboss snatching your precious hair squig?
Those of you who’ve already played through the previous demo know there is an amazing Goff Rokkband playing their hearts out in the Shanty Town. Those who haven’t, be sure to check it out. Boyz who want to keep on rocking even after the expanded demo, be sure to check out the music video and the brand-new merch recently launched in the Warhammer store.
The Weirdboy
As you all know, in the full game there’ll be four playable classes available, but for now we are keeping it to a second class joining the battle; the Weirdboy. These Boyz are energy-crazy gits that have a lot of crowd-control potential and excel at locking down enemies with all kinds of shocking contraptions. Their toolkit is crafted around manipulating and incapacitating enemies, creating advantageous situations for you and your team! This makes for the perfect combination with the already playable weapon-crazy Flash Git.
Online and Local Co-Op Play
The Boyz who have found us at conventions in the past months already know what it’s like to be backed up by a local buddy on Luteus Alpha. And in this expanded demo we are kicking it up a notch! Supporting online multiplayer, as well as local multiplayer, up to a warband of four people. This is the perfect opportunity to get your warband together, be it online or local, and bash in some ‘umie faces together on a relaxing Summer’s eve!
It has been proven that warbands who slay together, stay together.
The expanded demo will arrive on Steam when Warhammer Skulls is up and running (June 1, 7pm CET). Try out the expanded demo and let us know what you think on our socials or Discord.
Let’s start off with important news regarding the Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef release date.
Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef won’t be making the initial Summer release window, and we’re moving the launch to Fall 2022.
This decision wasn’t taken lightly, but will be in the best interest for the quality of the game. By taking on the Warhammer IP, we’ve also taken on the responsibility to deliver the best game we possibly can that both Rogueside and Games Workshop can be proud of. And with these couple of extra months we will be able to put more love and passion into the project, and take it to the level we want it to be.
We’re looking forward to seeing you on Luteus Alpha in Fall 2022!
On to our second announcement.
We are so excited to announce our partnership with ININ Games, who will aid us with the physical release of Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef on consoles!
The past weeks, even months, we’ve seen a lot of people asking about our retail plans, and now we can reveal them. Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef will be available for pre-order at select retailers for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 soon, powered by ININ Games. Even more exclusive editions with special collectible items will be available at Strictly Limited Games and Gamesrocket. Thank you for your continued support! More information on the release will be coming soon.

The return of Goff Rokk!
Are you ready to rock?!
As some of you may have already noticed, Goff Rokk has made its return to the battlefields! The last time Goff Rokkers made their marks in the Warhammer 40,000 universe was a long time ago, some people might not know it even existed. Until now! Today we hear the drums of war raging on once again! But who are these mysterious Rokkers?
Allow us to introduce the Six Shootas. Traveling throughout the galaxy from one planet to another, these Rokkers only have one goal in mind: riling up the Boyz right before battle! Who thought unleashing threateningly loud music upon the Orkish ears would get their blood pumping? Transforming them into ruthless warriors, boiling with rage. [previewyoutube="XMvx7lPz0Mg;full"] Listen to the tunes of the Six Shootas while you tear it up in Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef. Get riled up by the uplifting music and your blood pumping while Gargaz inflicts carnage throughout the hive city Luteus Prime.
You can experience the Six Shootas LIVE in the Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef demo, available right now! Full release, and more epic tunes, to be expected during Summer 2022!
Stay tuned for more details as we get closer to release. And most of all, stay rocking!
What’s the score? First of all, a big thank you from our team to everyone who played the demo over the past weeks. We hope you all had a blast! We received a lot of valuable feedback to continue working with, and improve the game. We’ve also seen a lot of comments pass by asking about the gunplay variety in Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef. So let’s talk about what Orks love most: DAKKA!
Dakka is love, Dakka is life. Orks love their firepower, and it goes without saying that we are aiming to get as much variety as possible in-game. As some of you may already know, there will be a total of five different weapon categories: the Slugga, the Shoota, the Boomstikk, the Rokkit Launcha and the Skorcha.
And to increase variety each weapon also has three extra modifications, creating whole new weapons. These modified variants are unlocked throughout playing the game and trading in your hard earned ‘teef’ at the Mekboy Workshop.
This makes for a grand total of twenty weapons. Let’s take a look!
The Slugga
Slugga: The old reliable pistol, the slugga is the main weapon of any worthy Ork Boy who likes it when the heads of their enemies go boom. It’s a lethal weapon with low fire rate, making it the perfect weapon for some precise kills.
Looted Plasma Pistol: Stolen from a lost space marine, this powerful pistol fires exploding bolts of plasma. But watch out because it can overheat and deal damage to you! You got to be tactical with this one and figure the best times to cool down before the heat is on!
Six-Shoota: Any yoof has proven their worth wielding one of these. It fires exceptionally powerful piercing shots but needs to be reloading round per round.
Shokka Pistol: The mekboys most recent creation! Holding the trigger on the shokka pistol charges up, releasing the trigger fires a lightning bolt, dealing shock damage in a straight line. Longer charge times lead to bigger range and more damage!
The Shoota
Shoota: Any Boy's favorite dakka. This assault rifle deals reliable amounts of damage but isn't very accurate. Average against all types of enemies, which never makes it a bad choice!
Snazzgun: There is no Shoota that can pump out this many shots over such a short period of time. The Snazzgun builds up firing speed as long as the trigger is held! Making it a great option for tight corridors packed with enemies, easily mowing them down.
Splinta Shoota: What is better than dakka, you may ask? Dakka that bursts into more dakka on impact! The Splinta Shoota’s bullets fracture into smaller fragments after impact, piercing most enemies.
Bolta: Lessons learned from fighting space marines! What if your dakka explodes on impact! With increased barrel width, the Bolta is able to fire Bolta rounds. These are large pieces of ammunition resulting in a devastating explosion on impact. Each shot fired will also have a minor kickback.
The Boomstikk
Boomstikk: This Orky shotgun is a powerful close range weapon. Dealing a large amount of damage and knocking enemies back. Just aim at the side the enemies are on and you are probably guaranteed a hit! Gun crazy Orks looking for a kick will enjoy this one.
Double Barrel Boomstikk: Doubling up the barrels for the Boomstikk gives you this quad barreled monstrosity! Its firepower is immense but the clip size is small. While it has only two shots, it will quickly dispose of any opponent.
Burnastikk: This modified version of the Boomstikk fires short bursts of powerful flames. Able to light anything on fire in an instant with one single burst.
Zzapstikk: Looting some lasgun tech from the Imperial guard, the mekboys have built a Boomstikk that fires laser beams that bounce off the walls. Pull the trigger and see beams scattering everywhere, it’s insanity!
The Rokkit Launcha
Rokkit Launcha: An orky rocket launcher. Perfect for disintegrating any foe. It’s the highest damage weapon available, but comes with a trade-off. Reloading the device is a tedious and pretty long process, but the damage more than makes up for it. And well… who doesn’t like explosions!
Gitseeka Missiles: A solution for the Ork’s amazing aim are the Gitseeka Missiles. These squig-powered missiles home in on their target, tracking them tirelessly. Just shoot in any direction and you are guaranteed a hit!
Squig Mine Chukka: This squig is specifically bred for the purpose of stuffing it with explosives until it can’t move. When someone steps on it, it explodes violently. Chug out mines and enjoy the chaos!
Stikky Bomb Launcha: What happens when you add a timer and glue to a rokkit? Stikky rokkits of course. Plug your enemy full of tiny bombs, let him say his last prayer before the timer runs out, resulting in a sea of explosions. The individual rockets themselves have a smaller blast radius though.
The Skorcha
Skorcha: This powerful flamethrower is capable of setting your enemies on fire. Causing them to panic and run! No reload time here, but play with fire (a lot) and you will get burned.
Killsaw: Who needs guns when you can just take a saw to their chest! The Killsaw is capable of dealing massive amounts of damage but it needs to be done at an exceptionally close range.
Shokka Cannon: Aiming is for gits, just hold the trigger and watch lightning jump to and between enemies. Dealing shock damage and stunning them for a brief moment! Perfect crowd control tool, and especially fun to use co-op mode!
Deffbeam: The Deffbeam focuses the power of a laser into a single consistent beam! The longer it is focused, the more damage it deals. It can be hard to control though and slows down aiming while firing.
That’s all of the available guns in Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef. A grand total of twenty weapons are waiting for you on Luteus Alpha. We do want to underline that every class can use any of these guns. None of the weapons discussed above are bound to a specific class. Just play what you like, as we are sure there’s plenty of dakka for everyone!
