Another year has gone by and it’s another year to celebrate the launch of Vermintide 2, with much merry, drinking, and rat slaying! Join us from March 6 to March 16 for our Seventh anniversary as we open the floodgates of the anniversary map ‘A Quiet Drink’ once more!
A Quiet Drink
Celebrate with our Heroes by taking them on a bar crawl across what’s left of Helmgart in this returning, limited-time mission! There will also be challenges related to completing the mission and rewards, including a brand-new portrait frame!
In addition, Lohner’s Emporium of Wonders will once again open the Event section for the duration of the event, allowing you to purchase old rewards from previous anniversaries for shillings in case you missed them!
Double XP
For the duration of the event, all experience earned while playing Vermintide will be doubled! Time to finish leveling up those Heroes, or getting a chunky boost in Versus ranks!
New Versus map
And as an additional celebration, we can let you guys in on a little secret! The update will see the addition of yet another map to the pool of playable Versus maps! We can’t spoil which one it is yet, but we’re excited to show you!
Fatshark Livestream today - 17:30 CET
Finally, while we have you here, we wanted to mention that we actually have a livestream later today for both Vermintide and Darktide! Our Art Directors will go through your submitted fanart to celebrate and pass judgement! The best pieces will net a reward, so make sure to submit your best! If you haven't already, make sure to find one of our Social Media posts about the contest and submit your piece as a comment!
The second installment in the Verminous Dreams campaign, ‘Devious Delvings’, is out now, free for all owners of Vermintide 2!
Devious Delvings
Having infiltrated the Skaven-infested ruins of the mythical Athel Lithri, our Heroes must now investigate the site to find out what it is that the verminous Pactsworn are scheming. The devastation and machinery suggest a massive project, but what are they after in this temple of all places?
Well, either way, better get to the bottom of it and smash every rat that comes your way. And the ones that don’t, too, for good measure (Saltzpyre agrees).
Just like the previous maps, Devious Delvings comes with its own set of Okri’s Challenges and rewards, such as a portrait frame and paintings!
Versus: Custom Game Settings
And for the Pactsworn enthusiasts, we’ve got an exciting new addition! When creating a player-hosted custom game, the host now has a suite of adjustable settings to tweak and modify how the match will play out! You can take the opportunity to make things super crazy, or to make your own competitive changes!
Some examples of the settings you can find in Custom Games:
Early Win toggle
Hero Bots toggle
Friendly Fire toggle
Number of Hero Wounds
Knocked down Hero health
Horde Ability charge rate
Pactsworn respawn timer
Pactsworn Catch up with Hero distance
Spawn distance from Heroes
Pactsworn Health
…And more!
On top of those and every other setting being added with this update, we plan on hopefully expanding that list with more and more settings as time goes on! Feel free to give us your own suggestions for settings you’d like to tinker with in Custom Games!
In the lobby browser, games that are playing with rules different from the default ones we use in Quickplay Servers will be flagged as having a modified ruleset.
Developer Stream today - 17:00 CEST - twitch.tv/fatsharkgames
We’ll be hosting a stream on our twitch today at 17:00 CEST! Level Design Lead Rickard and Art Director Joseph will be showing off the new mission as well as answering your questions and chatting with the community. Come hang out! twitch.tv/fatsharkgames
Without further ado…

Mission comes with its own set of Okri's challenges and rewards as usual, including shillings, a portrait frame and two paintings.
Added configurable settings for player hosted Custom Versus Games.

Fixes
Fixed the sanctioned mod 'Neuter Ult Effects' crashing in official realm if mods it depends on fail to load.

Fixed Weave bots not using cosmetics from the selected bot Loadout.
Fixed a bug with the icons on Versus weapons not resetting when removing applied illusions.
Fixed a bug where floating hats appeared in various menus when being in the Versus Keep. I bet that was Olesya trying to lure Kruber somewhere.
(Versus) Fixed a bug where the "Easy Meat - Kill a hoisted hero" challenge was obtainable if the killed player was hoisted at any point during the round, not just if the player is hoisted when killed.
(Versus) Fixed a bug where the "Not so Fast! - Disable a Hero that is Reviving another Hero" challenge was obtainable by simply disabling any hero, regardless if they are reviving or not.
Fixed some mistakes with the German localization.

Fixed the model of a rapier illusion having a gap between the blade and the hilt.
(Versus) Fixed a bug where controller sensitivity would be reset to default after each round.
Fixed wonky UI behaviour after deleting a loadout.

Devious Delvings: FREE New Map coming January 23rd
Heroes!
We hope you enjoyed the Holidays and are itching for more Vermintide! In early December last year, we released a brand new map ‘The Forsaken Temple’, and it’s already time for another.
‘Devious Delvings’ is the second installment of the Verminous Dreams campaign and picks up where the last mission left off. Our Heroes have successfully infiltrated the ruined Elven temple that Skaven has taken over; it’s now time to investigate what they’re up to.
This new map will arrive on January 23rd, FREE for all owners of Vermintide 2!
Versus Update - New playable monster: Rat Ogre! Patch 6.2.0
Heroes and Pactsworn!
This update brings a new dangerous toy for the Pactsworn side in Versus: A new playable monster, the Rat Ogre!
When the time comes for a Monster to spawn in a Versus match, Pactsworn players can choose between the Bile Troll and the Rat Ogre. While both are monsters, their way of assaulting the Hero team is very different, and so it is up to the players to choose the right tool for the job (or just the most fun!)
The Rat Ogre’s specialty is scrambling the Hero team through a frenzied assault. It excels at separating the Heroes and taking advantage of the chaos to chase after stragglers, pummeling away with wild, ferocious attacks that don’t give the defender room to breathe.
How to play the Rat Ogre
Similar to the Bile Troll and the Heroes, you’ve got light attacks and heavy attacks. Tapping your attack button (Default Keybind: Left Mouse Click) results in a series of fast but powerful attacks. Holding down the attack button results in a Heavy Attack, a downward slam with both fists that deals massive damage but is tricky to pull off!
Holding the secondary attack button (Default Keybind: Right Mouse Click) allows the Rat Ogre to prepare to Leap! Charge the leap for a short while and then aim. Once charged, you can release the button to launch yourself through the air, knocking any Heroes you land upon away and sending them flying all over. Perfect for making a dramatic entrance and throwing those pesky Heroes into disarray.
You can also find this information in the in-game Handbook!
What’s next?
We’re super excited about the release of Versus, it was a massive milestone for a project that we love and we’re glad that it’s been overall a fun time and well-received by the community!
But what’s next for Versus? Beyond the Rat Ogre, we’re looking to add more little things and tinker a bit more in the coming year! There’s a lot of very valid feedback that you guys have given that we want to address and we hope to be able to do that bit by bit in 2025. There are also small additions planned, such as Custom Settings to player-hosted games.
Other than Versus, we’ll continue working on the rest of the Verminous Dreams campaign maps (hope you’ve been having fun with The Forsaken Temple!), as well as a previously mentioned Weapon Pack which is still in the pipeline. Beyond that, well, we can’t reveal everything, can we?
Barring hotfixes, this will be the last Vermintide 2 update of the year, and what a blast it has been!
We hope you enjoy the Holidays and the Gifts of the Wolf Father, and we hope you’ve had as much fun with this game this year as we have! See you next year, drengbarazi. - The Vermintide 2 Team.
Patch 6.2.0 patch notes
As a heads up, due to a sudden issue with our patch building process, this update will be around a 25 gb download on PC. We apologize once again for the inconvenience, we thought we had seen the last of it. We’ll continue investigating to hopefully avoid more patches like these in the future.
Features & Tweaks
(Versus) Enabled the Rat Ogre as a Monster option for Pactsworn.
Hero Poses should no longer be counted as inventory items when calculating inventory space and should allow players that have reached the inventory cap due to poses to once again open chests.

(Versus) Fort Brachsenbrücke - Prevented cannonballs from getting stuck in the elevator
An update regarding the data loss issue:
Hey all, just checking in again with a progress update and some further information to share.
Our backend developers have a 3-step plan to restore the missing data:
Stage 1: Gather and collate account data from storages we have, and transfer this to another system which will be used for rebuilding missing account data
Stage 2: Conduct some wizardry in this system to organise the data (e.g. get the latest/highest/correct value for each statistic for each player) and prep it for being merged back in to our backend data
Stage 3: Update the backend and merge the rebuilt data into existing account data.
Stage 1 is in full swing and data is currently being downloaded and transferred to our system required to rebuild the missing data. This is a tremendous amount of account data, and will take some time to complete. We’re exploring whether we can scale this process up and complete it any faster, but for now an approximate estimate is that this stage will take a few weeks to complete.
Please bear with us, and we’ll continue to provide updates when we have more to share.
A big thank you for your continued patience during this process.
Versus Spotlight - Bardin Goreksson & Warpfire Thrower
Heroes and Pactsworn!
Welcome to the last out of five weekends of the Versus Spotlight events. Every week, we’ll take a closer look at one of the Ubersreik 5 and one of the Pactsworn Specials. Unlock unique time-limited rewards, learn more about the spotlight Hero and Skaven, and do it all while having fun. This week's spotlight will be on the hearty Bardin and the nasty Warpfire Thrower!
Previous Spotlight's Rewards
As said in the the previous post, we changed the end date for the event from Sunday to Wednesday, which was more than enough to reach and beat the new ambitious target of 250K kills!
The rewards for the previous spotlight were delivered yesterday, so check your inventory! As a note, the Hero Pose might take a few restarts before it applies properly to your account. Sorry about that!
Congrats to everyone for your continued hard work! Now just the final stretch!
This Week's Rewards
There are unique rewards to unlock weekly, all earned by the community as a whole through completion of the Kill-Counter. There are currency rewards, portrait frames, skins, and weapon poses to be earned.
Bardin Goreksson & Warpfire Thrower Spotlight rewards will be earnable between December 12 - December 18. All rewards will be granted after the end of the spotlight.
Kill-Counter
Rally together as community to eliminate Heroes in Versus to complete the Kill-counter. If the community completes the counter, you will all unlock:
An exclusive skin for the Warpfire Thrower!
120 shillings.
100 Helmgart Sellsword Marks.
A brand new Portrait frame.
A Hero Pose for Bardin!
Bardin Goreksson
Bardin Goreksson introduced himself to the world as an unstoppable avalanche on the battlefield, an ale-swigging hurricane at the inn, and a steadfast friend by the campfire. A bulwark of comradeliness and good cheer, Bardin became the glue binding our unlikely band of heroes.
The The Warpfire Thrower is whispered of in many quarters – chiefly for the horrors it has wrought in the cramped confines of dwarfen holds. With the smouldering projector aimed, the simple flip of a switch births roiling clouds of warpfire that scours all from the gunner’s path.
Today we bring you a brand new mission: The Forsaken Temple! This FREE mission is the first of three maps in the brand new ‘Verminous Dreams’ campaign.
Tipped off by an otherworldly visit, Lohner’s investigations have led to the discovery of Skaven around the ruins of an ancient elven temple, possibly one that was rumored to not even exist. What could the Pactsworn be looking for in these mythical ruins?
Better stop them regardless, Heroes! Can’t be anything good.
Gifts of the Wolf Father
And of course, this December will also mark the return of the Gifts of the Wolf Father! He’s got an exciting bag of goodies to share with you all this year!
How it works: Starting today and until January 3rd, every day you jump on Vermintide 2, you can access Lohner’s Emporium to claim that day’s Gift*. There’ll be cosmetics, illusions, coins, frames, and all sorts of goodies!
There might even be a very, very special hat that makes its long-awaited, fishy return!
Today’s gift, you might ask?
*: You may also claim the gifts from two days prior, as a small buffer to make things a bit more flexible.
Upcoming playable monster: Rat Ogre - December 17
We also wanted to give you guys a taste of what’s coming next for Versus!
Coming December 17th, the Pactsworn are going to get another fun toy to torment the Hero team: The Rat Ogre will be a playable monster before the end of the year!
New Premium Cosmetics: The Mythic Masquerade
Can’t just let you guys go on a brand new Adventure without some brand new swagger to show off, ey?
This bundle of Premium Cosmetics, purchasable directly from Lohner’s Emporium, has a fantastic set of new cosmetics inspired by iconic characters from Warhammer Fantasy!
Gotrek Gurnisson
Our dear Bardin gets to look even more fierce than usual with this intimidating outfit fashioned after the most deadly of all slayers: Gotrek Gurnisson. Available only to Bardin’s Slayer career.
Felix Jaeger
Of course, we can’t have Gotrek without Felix! Kruber gets to accompany his best buddy in with this dashing outfit inspired by Gotrek’s faithful companion, Felix Jaeger! Available only to Markus’ Mercenary career.
Count Boris Todbringer
Proving that he ALSO can sport a magnificent beard, the imposing Count Boris Todbringer-inspired hero skin and hat are equipable by Saltzpyre’s Bounty Hunter career.
Naieth the Prophetess
Delving into mysticism, Kerillian has access to an outfit inspired by Naieth the Prophetess, equipable on all of Kerillian’s careers.
Isabella Von Carstein
With a sudden propensity for walking around with a cup of wine (at least, we think it’s wine!), Sienna gets a new regal look with this armour inspired by Isabella Von Carstein. This hero skin and hat are equipable on her Pyromancer and Necromancer careers.
Developer stream: December 9th, 17:00 CET!
Don’t forget to tune into our twitch stream today, at 17:00 CET! Developers Anton, Theodor and Tom are going to go over the new DLC, play the new map, and talk a little bit about what’s next for Vermintide, including both Versus and PvE.
Versus Spotlight: Week 4 extension
Perhaps we overshot a bit when adjusting the kill counter target! We were so impressed with your performance in the first weeks that we got a bit overambitious for the new one.
In the spirit of giving during this Gifts of the Wolf father, we’re extending the period to reach the kill counter from Sunday to Wednesday. Make sure to reach the target of 250.000 Heroes killed in Versus before the next spotlight starts, or you really might miss out on the rewards!
Without further ado…
Patch 6.1.0 patch notes
Features & Tweaks
Added the new free map: The Forsaken Temple.
This map is the first mission in the new Verminous Dreams campaign. More maps coming later!
Added Okri's Challenges & rewards related to The Forsaken Temple
Added a new set of Premium Cosmetics: the Mythical Masquerade.
The Gotrek Gurnisson hero skin and hat, equippable by Bardin's Slayer career.
The Naieth the Prophetess hero skin and hat, equippable by all of Kerillian's careers.
The Felix Jaeger hero skin and hat, equippable by Kruber's Mercenary career.
The Isabella Von Carstein hero skin and hat, equippable by Sienna's Pyromancer and Necromancer careers.
The Count Boris Todbringer hero skin and hat, equippable by Saltzpyre's Bounty Hunter career.
Minimum and maximum power level for items in chests and crafting increase by one for every level above 30 (added across all characters), before limiting it to its original max value.
Increasing the minimum means that at a certain level, all items are guaranteed to be max power.
Increasing the maximum and then reducing it to the cap means that you are more likely to roll a maximum power item as you increase levels, even before your minimum power gets high enough to be equal to the cap.
Enabled the Gifts of the Wolf Father advent calendar! Log in every day and check the calendar to unlock gifts!
Purchasing a DLC while in the keep now requires a game restart.
Fixes
Fixed an UI issue where Shillings and Helmgart Sellsword Marks would overlap with the store interface when looking for a match.
Fixed an issue causing Saltzpyre's animation to not take a cool step forward when shooting the rapier's pistol. Now he does his fancy move again!
Fixed a bug where Bardin could sometimes respond with a Kerillian voice line when Victor gets knocked down too many times
The Forsaken Temple: FREE New Map releasing next week!
"I don't know what they want with it, but if even half the stories of Athel Lithri are true, you better go up there and stop them."
Heroes!
We've been teasing it for a while now, but it's finally time to reveal the next step in the Ubersreik 5's adventure! The first of three missions in the new Verminous Dreams campaign, 'The Forsaken Temple' is coming out next week, free on all platforms!
The Forsaken Temple
Devoted readers of Lohner's Chronicles (spying on someone's personal journal is very rude, by the way) would know that dear Franz was recently visited by an Elf of the Divine persuasion, who gave him a cryptic warning of things to come.
While he never spoke a word about this to our Heroes, his investigations nonetheless led him to uncover hints of Skaven presence in the ruins of what could be an ancient and even mythical Elven temple: Athel Lithri.
Whatever it is that the Pactsworn plan to do with that temple, it can't be anything good. Time for our Heroes to take a peek and hopefully put a swift end to any verminous schemes going on there.
New upcoming Premium Hero Cosmetics: The Mythical Masquerade
Just in time for the new adventure, Lohner got a glorious shipment of new outfits and hats, all inspired by some of the most iconic characters from Warhammer Fantasy!
Bardin and Kruber get to pair up as an iconic duo, wearing vestments inspired by Gotrek Gurnisson and Felix Jaeger! These hero skins and hats are equipable on Bardin’s Slayer career and Kruber’s Mercenary career, respectively.
Proving that he ALSO can sport a magnificent beard, the imposing Count Boris Todbringer-inspired hero skin and hat are equipable by Saltzpyre’s Bounty Hunter career.
Delving into mysticism, Kerillian has access to an outfit inspired by Naieth the Prophetess, equipable on all of Kerillian’s careers.
With a sudden propensity for walking around with a cup of wine (at least, we think it’s wine!), Sienna gets a new regal look with this armour inspired by Isabella Von Carstein. This hero skin and hat are equipable on her Pyromancer and Necromancer careers.
Versus Spotlight - Victor Saltzpyre & Packmaster
Heroes and Pactsworn!
Welcome to the fourth out of five weekends of the Versus Spotlight events. Every week, we’ll take a closer look at one of the Ubersreik 5 and one of the Pactsworn Specials. Unlock unique time-limited rewards, learn more about the spotlight Hero and Skaven, and do it all while having fun. This week's spotlight will be on good ol' One Eye Saltzpyre and the cruel Packmaster!
Previous Spotlight's Rewards
An update on the way the rewards are handed out: Due to feedback from the community, as well as some technical issues on our end regarding this, we've decided to change how rewards for the Spotlight are given out.
All rewards for the spotlight will now be earned upon completion of the kill counter. That means all of the currency, portrait frames and Hero poses will be unlocked for the community (alongside the Pactsworn skin, as before).
This change is retroactive and will also affect the rewards of the first weeks of the spotlights.
The rewards for the previous spotlight have just been delivered, so check your inventory! As a note, the Hero Pose might take a few restarts before it applies properly to your account. Sorry about that!
This Week's Rewards
There are unique rewards to unlock weekly, all earned by the community as a whole through completion of the Kill-Counter. There are currency rewards, portrait frames, skins, and weapon poses to be earned.
Saltzpyre & Packmaster Spotlight rewards will be earnable between December 5 - December 8. All rewards will be granted the following week.
Kill-Counter
Rally together as community to eliminate Heroes in Versus to complete the Kill-counter. If the community completes the counter, you will all unlock:
An exclusive skin for the Packmaster!
120 shillings.
100 Helmgart Sellsword Marks.
A brand new Portrait frame.
A Hero Pose for Saltzpyre!
Since all rewards are tied to the kill tracker, and since you've all been smashing through every target so far, we've decided to up the ante and increase the target kills from 40K Hero kills to 250K! Get crackin', players, that's a lot of Heroes to kill.
Victor Saltzpyre
For Victor, life has ever been a never-ending battle against heresy and destruction – the beleaguered Reikland is but a vaster stage upon which to strut his hour. Though it is hardly in Victor’s nature to trust such outcasts as are his companions in these dark days, he accepts that righteous work can sometimes be accomplished by stained souls and soiled hands.
The Packmasters of Clan Moulder excel in driving packs of ravening beasts into battle, but in the crush of the swarm they favour other tactics. Clan Moulder is ever seeking new subjects to further its vile breeding experiments, and every Packmaster covets the bounty paid for a particularly noteworthy prize.
Welcome to the third out of five weekends of the Versus Spotlight events. Every week, we’ll take a closer look at one of the Ubersreik 5 and one of the Pactsworn Specials. Unlock unique time-limited rewards, learn more about the spotlight Hero and Skaven, and do it all while having fun.
Previous Spotlight's Rewards
You guys continue to smash through these! The target for the Community Challenge was surpassed in no time and so the community as a whole has unlocked the Ratling Gunner skin.
For everyone who played during the last spotlight, you've earned these goodies, depending on your playtime: The rewards for the previous spotlight have just been delivered, so check your inventory! As a note, the Hero Pose might take a few restarts before it applies properly to your account. Sorry about that!
This Week's Rewards
There are unique rewards to unlock weekly through the Kill-Counter and personal rewards to unlock through a small ‘win-track’. There are currency rewards, portrait frames, skins, and weapon poses to be earned.
Sienna & Poison Wind Globadier Spotlight rewards will be earnable between November 28 - December 1. All rewards will be granted the following week.
Kill-Counter
Rally together as community to eliminate Heroes in Versus to complete the Kill-counter. If the community completes the counter, you will all unlock an exclusive skin for the Poison Wind Globadier.
Spotlight-track
Meanwhile, the win-track rewards will be unlocked depending on how much time you spend in Vermintide 2. Don’t worry, it won’t be too difficult, we promise. You can play Adventure, Chaos Wastes, Weaves, or Versus to unlock the rewards*.
Playing for at least half an hour earns you 60 shillings.
Playing for at least an hour earns you another 60 shillings as well as 30 Helmgart Sellsword Marks.
Playing for at least two hours additionally earns you a brand new Portrait frame and 70 Helmgart Sellsword Marks.
Playing for at least three hours additionally earns you a Hero Pose for Sienna!
This playtime is tracked across all game modes, but is only tracked while in an actual match.
*You cannot actively check on your track progression. All rewards will be granted the following week
Sienna
Sienna Fuegonasus is an addict, forever torn between her will to control the destructive magics of Aqshy – the Wind of Fire – and a burgeoning desire to set the world alight for no other reason than the rush of magic in her bones. Another being might succumb to such temptations, and indeed, many have. But Sienna’s compassion and wry sense of humour keep her grounded.
Tattered robes and ramshackle gas masks grant Poison Wind Globadiers a sinister silhouette. This is a harbinger well-deserved, as are the rasp of rotting lungs and the acrid stench of warp-gas that sours the air about them. Globadiers care nothing for the lives of their fellow skaven, and will happily slaughter dozens of their own kind to fell a single foe. Life is cheap in the Under-Empire, and victory forgives all.
Fixed an issue that made it so that Hero levels past 30 did not continue increasing the minimum item power from gear received from crafting, as introduced in a previous hotfix.
We've also applied all of the rewards from last week's spotlight! It might be necessary to restart the game a couple of times to get them applied, sorry about that!
Status update for the players who lost progression during the update:
Our Backend Service Provider have now confirmed that they are unable to restore/provide us with a snapshot of the missing account data, sadly. Though, we would like to reassure you that after working with them on this issue, new measures are in place that should a similar issue arise in future (we certainly hope not!) that we will have the necessary data backups in place.
What does this mean? We will be proceeding with our plan B to restore the missing account data.
What will Fatshark be doing? Our backend developers will be working with our analytics team to rebuild the missing account data ourselves, and then merge this into your current account data.
How long will this take? It's difficult to give an ETA currently, as our teams are planning the most effective way to proceed, and it is a lot of account data. We'll hopefully have a clearer idea of this soon, and will continue to communicate on the issue as regularly as we can.
Is it safe to continue playing on my account with missing progression? Yes. We will be merging the missing account data into your current data - so any recent progress should be kept.
Are there any risks? There is a small risk that merging the missing account data with current account data may lead to some slight discrepancies and cause minor elements of recent progression to be lost. Though, this would be far less than the current missing progression, and we will do our best to assist anyone should this happen. Though we will be doing all we can to best avoid this.
You can follow the status on this issue here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/552500/discussions/9/4631483655073586117/
