[Fixed] Some players fail to enter the game after matching

To assist you in the game experience, we'd like to inform you in advance of any in-game issues you may encounter.

If you are experiencing any problems in the game, please refer to the instructions below.
We'll update this announcement as we identify additional issues that need to be addressed.

We are currently working very hard to make the game environment of Warhaven a smooth experience, and we appreciate your patience and understanding.

■ Infrequent game crashes on lower graphics driver versions (6/19 00:55 added)
→ Please update your graphics driver to the latest version.

■ World Pass War Rank "first-time achievement" rewards are awarding more Talent Points than the system intended. (6/18 23:15 added)
--> During Early Access, we'll be adjusting the percentage of Talent Points awarded as a First-Time Achiever reward.
--> We encourage you to actively participate in World Pass during Steam Next Fest to get an early taste of the various talent effects.


■ Unable to enter the game from match making attempt after leaving the match for AFK.
→ Relaunch the client, and you should be able to start the game normally.

■ After a battle, the results screens are skipped and moved to the lobby.
→ Exp and match results are applied in the game server data safely.

■ Guardian and Martyr pressing attack immediately after a successful parry makes the character freezes at the same time with the parry motion.
→ This is currently under investigation. We will fix it as soon as possible.

■ Event notifications appear when there are no event rewards available.
→ This is also currently under investigation. We will fix it as soon as possible.

■ Magnetic field damage does not apply to some spaces inside the opposing faction's magnetic field in the battlefield “Gella”.
→ We are currently investigating. We'll fix it as soon as possible.

■ When earning WP as a reward for accumulating points for World Pass events, castle-shaped points are also displayed as well.
→ Castle points are not awarded as a cumulative point reward for World pass.

■ Earning a new outfit doesn't unlock a main character
→ When you restart the game client, the main character will be unlocked normally.

■ A character is stuck in a specific location and cannot move.
→ Recall (B) keystroke to continue playing normally.

■ DLSS 3 feature is not supported with the Nvidia RTX 40 series graphics cards.
→ We're working closely with Nvidia to ensure we can support the latest technologies like DLSS in early access.

■ Occasional Game crashes
→ 1. If your PC specifications are lower than the recommended specifications, please change the game settings as the instruction below.
1) Press [Esc] in the lobby screen and click [Settings].
2) Lower the overall [Quality] of the game.
3) Disable environment interactions, character special effects, and detailed corpse-stone effects.
4) Change the antialiasing settings in [Display] to FXAA.
5) Disable motion blur, and threaded resource rendering from [Advanced Settings]

→ 2. If you are still experiencing crashes after changing your settings, please try the following solution:
1) Press Win + R to open the Run window and enter %LocalAppData%\Warhaven\Saved\Config\WindowsClient
2) Delete GameUserSettings.ini once the folder opens
3) Restart to reset the settings. (This resets your previous settings.)

Dev Log #3



Greetings from the Warhaven team!

We've used your feedback from the global beta test to create a Steam Next Fest Warhaven demo that helps get new players into the fight!

Let's dive into the major changes:


🏰 Character Combat


There are a total of 6 soldiers and 4 Immortals that can be played during the Steam Next Fest.

Soldiers: Blade, Spike, Warhammer, Guardian, Hush, Smoke
Immortals: Martyr, Raven, Hoet, Darkgale

The newly-added soldier Hush specializes in outmaneuvering the enemy and attacking them while they least expect it.

The HUD and UX/UI elements have been improved for greater clarity in the chaos of battle.
Additionally, the camera POV has been optimized for melee combat to improve overall attack accuracy,
which should provide a better gameplay experience.


🏰Victory Conditions


Victory Condition: Point Deduction → Point Increase
In order to clarify the relationship between capturing footholds and victory,
players now win by increasing their own point total to 100%, instead of deducting points from the opponent's total until it reaches 0.


Previously, enemy points would be deducted when players defeated opponents and captured footholds, as seen in the earlier test version.
However, after removing point changes from defeating enemies and shifting gameplay focus to capturing footholds, we decided that adding points were much more natural that deducting points from the other team.


🏰Maps and Modes


Game Modes: Onslaught → Dominion
The previous Onslaught rules, where teams would push the front line into enemy territory by capturing activate footholds, were unintuitive.
Many players responded with feedback saying that they felt bored or let down as the front line moved back and forth.

So we decided to simplify the game mode to "Dominion," where the team that controls more foothold wins, a game mode commonly seen in other PvP games.

We hope that players enjoy it as an intuitive, fast-paced game mode where both teams fight to control footholds A, B, and C.
During the Steam Next Fest, you will be able to play 2 modes, Skirmish and Dominion, and fight on 4 different battlefields.


🏰Dominion: Gella/Moshabarg


Including the 3 main footholds and slingers, Gella has a Respawn Foothold, and the team that captures more main footholds than the enemy team will increase its Morale points.

The first team that reaches 100% Morale will be victorious.

🏰Skirmish: Podden/Sihan


Both teams fight to control the central foothold, with the team that holds Foothold A longer earning more points, and victory.

🏰New Skirmish Battlefield, "Sihan"


The Steam Next Fest build will feature Sihan, a new Skirmish battlefield that wasn't shown during the Summer Game Fest.
The Skirmish map Sihan has ballistae near each team's Respawn Point, and when enough environmental damage is dealt to the main foothold with the map's cannon, the floor gives way, changing the combat environment.

🏰Boot Camp and Practice Battles


The Boot Camp has been reorganized so that players can learn both basic controls and each character's unique skills. Additionally, Practice Battles have been added to allow new players the chance to practice against bots.

The Boot Camp is a training area which players enter as they start the game, where they learn attack range, basic skills, and controls as Blade.
Practice Battles, where up to 8 players can fight bot opponents, let new players see how games work and familiarize themselves with the map.



In Advanced Training, players will be able to learn the unique skills and combos of the soldiers and Immortals, and take their knowledge to the battlefield.




🏰Relics


Relics are holy artifacts that can give your team tactical advantages.
By fighting in matches and earning Battle Points, you also earn Strategy Medals, which can be used to summon relics.
How to Use: Open the relic selection menu with (V) and move the mouse cursor to select and summon a relic.



Relics and Their Functions
Relics are unlocked based on your account level, and have the following functions:

⚔ Squad Scarecrow ⚔
When summoned, it counts as 1 ally for capturing a Main Foothold and can also be used as a squad respawn point.

⚔ Immortal Power Emblem ⚔
Use an emblem to immediately charge 20% Immortal Power.

⚔ Respawn Tent ⚔
Up to 4 allies can respawn once the tent is placed.

⚔ Ice Stone ⚔
Move an Ice Stone to an enemy foothold to instantly capture the foothold and lock it for a set time. (1 can be summoned per team.)
(Cannot be used in Skirmish mode.)

⚔ Ignition Stone ⚔
Move an Ignition Stone to a foothold frozen by an enemy Ice Stone to unlock it instantly.
(Cannot be used in Skirmish mode.)
* Foothold Ice/Ignition Stones cannot be used in Skirmish. (Podden/Sihan)

🏰Skills and Character Actions


New skills have been added to the game, such as Smoke's Smoke Clone and Darkgale's Rear, and certain characters have new combo actions and Dash skills.
You can see detailed information on each character's skills by pressing [F1] in the [Barracks].

How to use the Battle Cry emote: Battle Cries can be used with the Emotes key (G)
and with the interaction key (F) if a nearby ally is using the emote.


🏰Other Changes


• System
- You can unleash faster consecutive attacks by mixing basic attacks and attacks in the opposite direction.
- Instances where battles dragged on because blocking while low on HP triggered Exhaustion have been reduced.
- Superior blocks have been added so that skilled players have greater durability.
- Jump penalties have been enhanced to dissuade players from trying to gain an advantage by making jump attacks repeatedly.
- Ladders now trigger automatic short distance movement so that players aren't at a disadvantage when using them.
- Ally collision has been removed in order to keep players on the same team from obstructing each other.
- Instances of attacks being blocked by terrain have been reduced to make fighting in tight spaces easier.

• Battle
- Special attacks such as Vertical Slash can now ignore-guard breaking attacks, creating more variety in combat.
- Guard-breaking attacks are faster and deal basic damage, giving them more utility.
- Fast counter attacks have been removed and attacking while blocking is available, allowing players to react while blocking.
- Dashing has been added to each character, giving them more tactical mobility.
- Block detection is now more intuitive.
- Combat results display as text and icons, making them easier to identify.
- Skill utility has been expanded by adding combo attacks.

• Inputs
- The command for sprint attacks has been changed from left-clicking during a sprint to scrolling the mouse wheel down during a sprint to reduce mistaken inputs.
- Instead of having a separate command for running, soldiers now run automatically after moving forward for a set duration.
- Changing attack direction with a separate command has been removed.
- Mouse wheel up inputs have been removed to reduce both the number of input keys and the amount of input errors.

• Improvements
- There are fewer instances of invincibility, and previous instances have been replaced by the Unstoppable status to allow for a better gameplay experience.
- Attack input feedback has been improved with better attack animations.
- The camera POV has been changed and related settings have been added to increase attack accuracy.
- The direction of knock back when attacked is now more intuitive.
- Perks have been improved overall.
- Resurrections have been balanced to keep battles competitive.
- Attack trajectory visibility has been increased to make measuring distances easier.

Game Event Guide

Greetings from the Warhaven team!

We'd like to introduce four in-game events that will start on [PDT] June 18(Sun).
Please check out the event details below, and have a great time at Next Fest!

* Please Note:
- All event times are based on UTC.
- Account items are reset at the conclusion of the Steam Next Fest.


1. Daily Login Event


- Earn rewards each day you log in and obtain WP by clicking the rewards icon!
* Daily rewards are granted based on the days that you log in.
Ex) If you log in 3 days after the date of your first login, you will receive the Day 2 login rewards.
* If you're already in the game when it renews to the next day at UTC 0:00 AM,
you'll need to exit the game and reconnect to earn the next day's rewards.
* You can earn up to 8 daily rewards from the Daily Login Event.
* The WP earned from rewards can be used to purchase items from the shop.




2. Login Time Event


- You can earn World Pass EXP, Challenge Coupons, and WP based on your total login time and matches completed, which can be claimed by clicking on the icon.
- Rewards reset every day at 12:00AM UTC, so make sure to claim them each day before they're gone!
* Each tier's rewards can only be claimed when the previous tier's rewards have been claimed.
* Only fully completed Practice or Standard Battles count.

■ Reward Items
1) World Pass EXP: EXP for your World Pass Level,
which grants rewards and unlocks additional content as it increases.
2) Challenge Coupons: Change your Daily/Weekly Quest.
(Changing Daily Quests costs 1 coupon, and Weekly Quests cost 2.)
3) WP: Used to purchase items from the shop.




3. New Recruit Event


- You can earn event points and World Pass EXP by completing quests each day!
Rewards are immediately granted upon clicking the reward icon.
- Earn WP in intervals based on your total accumulated points and claim it instantly by clicking.
* Note that [BOT] kills in Practice Battles do not count toward progression in the "Kill an Enemy" challenge.
* Each daily chapter will open automatically based on the date of your first login.
Ex) If you log in 3 days after the first login, the Day 4 quest will unlock.
* You can participate for up to 7 days during the New Recruit Event.




4. World Pass Event


- The event page will display upon reaching World Pass Lv. 4.
- You can earn increase your World Pass level by training in the Boot Camp,
completing matches, from event rewards, etc. to earn World Pass EXP.

■ How to Participate
1) Complete event quests to earn castle-shaped event points and World Pass EXP,
rewards are immediately granted upon clicking the reward icon.
2) Rewards are granted in intervals based on your total castle-shaped points, which are reflected on the Federation Point Race.
3) You can earn additional castle-shaped points based on your ranking in your federation's race progress.

■ Quest Details
- Participate in a World Pass Battle : Participate in Reconnaissance, Patrols, and Conquests.
- Earn War Contribution : Participate in Reconnaissance, Patrols, and Conquests and earn rewards upon completion.
- Advance Your Carriage in the World Pass : Move your World Pass carriage forward.
- Defeat an Enemy in a Conquest : Join or launch a World Pass Conquest and defeat enemies.
- Participate in a Conquest : Join a Conquest to take territory from another federation.
- Win a World Pass Battle : Emerge victorious from a Reconnaissance, Patrol, or Conquest.

■ Additional Details
- You can open a detailed explanation of the World Pass by pressing [F1] in the lobby or World Pass screen.
- Quest progress earned before the event page displays is carried over.
- Each Conquest, Patrol, and Reconnaissance consumes 1 Battle Memory and 10 Resolve.
- 1 Battle Memory is generated for each fully completed Practice and Standard Battle,
and 10 Resolve is generated automatically every 60 minutes.
- Wins and losses in the World Pass are based on chance, so defeat is possible even if your Combat Power is higher than the enemy's average.
- Players are automatically placed in a federation upon reaching World Pass lv. 4, and cannot select a new one.
- The Federation points race displays the total number of points(castle shaped) earned by each member of the Federation.
- The summing operation is not reflected in real-time and has a delay of about two minutes,
and will be updated when you reopen the World Pass Events page after about a few minutes.
- The castle shaped points earned as a reward for completing a stage (checkpoint) in a Federation Points Race do not count toward the Federation Points Race.
