"The Corrupted Rifts" Update
Hello Space Cadets!
We’re happy to announce that we have dropped another We Are Screwed! update for you. The Corrupted Rifts update introduces side missions that take players into twisted universes, where they need to deliver a Corrupted Module before it overheats and destroys the ship. These timed challenges consist of multiple levels where players will be able to test their skills in fast-paced missions.
The goal of Corrupted Rifts missions is to deliver the dangerous cargo to “The Sealer'', the only being in the multiverse who can defuse it. This rat-like creature will generously reward players with module variants, passive modules and in-game currency. Full update notes can be read below!

Star Blaster Update!
Hello Space Cadets!
We’re happy to announce that we have dropped another We Are Screwed! update for you. The update introduces new features such as the new ship modules. The ‟Black Hole Turret” will release a small black hole that will travel towards your enemies, sucking them in causing them to take damage, in addition a new ‟Star Blaster” will be added. In terms of accessibility, a Control Remapper will be introduced that will allow players to configure/remap controls according to their gaming preferences.
We can’t wait for you to see what we’ve prepared for you, and we dearly hope you enjoy it! As a developer, we would love to hear your feedback and thoughts on our game, it helps us greatly to improve it and add more exciting content. Therefore, we would like to invite you to follow us on social media, which we are regularly monitoring and would love to communicate with you there, as well as our Discord.
- Added Black Hole Turret - Added Star Blaster - Added Exting-Squish to give players a second option to extinguish fires - Carrying heavy washing machines to Scrappy didn't feel as rewarding as we wanted it to be, so we added some variety to the amount of scrap you earn from it. Heavier items will reward more, and lighter ones will reward less - Enabled arrow key menu navigation for keyboard players - Replaced input system to improve game performance - Added input remapper to allow players to reassign controls on their input device - Nerfed the amount of items spawned by a clean bot in Infested Swamps - Nerfed enemies in four-player mode in later stages as they were too bulky and spawning too frequently - Improve BF-S-G penalty cooldown to make it less punishing
Fixes:
- Added a cooldown indicator for chargeable modules such as the BF-S-G and the new Black Hole Turret - Added a cooling mechanic to overheating modules such as the Gatling Gun. Spraying those turrets with a Fire Extinguisher or the new Exting-Squish item will cause them to overheat slower and cool down faster - Added visualization for the item throwing mechanic - Fixed Infested Swamps strains often spawning inside of walls - Fixed an issue where Dusty would get stuck while cleaning - Fixed a bug where locked chests would spawn underneath quests - Fixed an issue where pickups could not be collected but were instead rotating around the ship - Fixed a bug where stealing from the shop would not trigger a warning message by Ceasar - Fixed a bug where unlocked module variants would not display in the upgrade panel anymore - Improved localizations - Minor balancing changes
Known issues:
- Turning on Stasis in the ship and then disabling the option in the options menu will break all the enemies in the game
