DXF Games' upcoming roguelike, Equin 2: The Warren Peace, on Steam Next!
Good morning!
If you think a traditional roguelike that doesn't have a kabillion key controls might be for you, well then I might have just the thing right here ːsteamhappyː And now it looks like Steam supports cross-promotion on these things too!
My upcoming sequel to Equin: The Lantern is part of the October Steam Next event which started today, Friday Oct. 1st. Be a part of it and check out the new & updated free demo. The demo lets you play as the Warrior class though the first two areas but otherwise has no other restrictions. I really think anybody who enjoyed my first roguelike Equin: The Lantern will for sure like The Warren Peace as well.
As always any feedback would be super helpful to me. The game is planned for a Nov. 19th 2021 release.
Thanks and enjoy the event!!
It's a Weebish Mines update!?
Hey!
I was pretty busy working on my Equin: The Lantern stuff however I had some time tonight and worked in some nice little things for Weebish Mines as well.
Shoulder Button Support
If you're using an XBOX 360 controller you can now use the shoulder buttons to open up and sift through your held items while playing! This is actually pretty cool.
If it doesn't work on your non-360 controller you can still always press up to select your held items like before.
"Not Safe" Item Tag Changed
When you dropped an item on the ground (by pressing down) it would say "Not Safe" on it. This was meant to tell you that the item would not be saved in that position should you decide to quit / save the game before picking it back up again.
The new tag is better: A little floppy disk with a red slash through it is a better indicator of the message I was trying to get across before.
Remember the Controls!
Please remember, the game's control scheme can be viewed from the start menu by choosing Options and then Controls. How can ya' play if you don't know the inputs, eh?

As always, if one of my games needs an update and I can make things better for everyone I will. I'd never consider one of my babies up here dead or abandoned, so neither should you!
The recent not recommended review of Weebish Mines mentioned there was a ladder bug where placing a ladder down next to a door got the guys stuck. Since I'd never heard of this before I asked for more info and then tried it myself and it's true: If you tried to place a ladder down while standing almost on top of any door this would happen.
It's funny what thousands of hours testing can miss sometimes. ːsteamfacepalmː
Luckily I was able to fix this issue in about 5 minutes, which has now been rolled out to you guys. If only all problems could be solved so fast!
So remember, if you have any problems it's always better to let me know first as I'm not your typical dev and will try to address problems quickly and work with you.
Hey everyone, I figured out how to set up a bundle for all 3 of my games up here as well as the soundtrack to Just a Cleric.
The bundle is 40% off the total retail value and includes:
Just a Cleric: Scholar of the First Wuss
Just a Cleric OST
Equin: The Lantern
Weebish Mines
The good thing about how this is set up is that you won't get charged for any of these you already own, and the 40% off is on TOP of any current sales going on with the individual games. ːsteamhappyː

Thank you fo your continued support!!
Update #2
Hello again!
Yoritoshi brought it to my attention that upon pressing the F12 key to take a screenshot of the final credits screen (to capture the total time played) it triggered the "Ok, I'm all done with the game let's go to the title screen!" action.
So this has now been fixed.
For the inconvienence, I've also added 5 more achievements to the game which brings the total up to 27.
One of the achievements is to beat the game in under an hour.
Can you do it??
Patch #1
Hi guys!
Tonight I've done some changes to the game which will make for a better experience for everyone:
ADDITIONS:
There's now a game timer on the pause screen. This also shows when you win the game. This is a great addition if you'd like to either speed run the game or otherwise show off how long it took you to save your pets!
FIXES
Yoritoshi mentioned something about the pets always being in the same spots, though it wasn't happening to me. I figured out what was causing this discrepancy: He had been winning the game all in one shot, while I had used the suspend save and continued it later.
What had been happening is the game would reposition the pets but ONLY upon loading the continued game back up. There was an error where it wasn't positioning them upon starting a new game too (!!)
This has been fixed!
TWEAKS
I figured out a way for some better randomization of the shop's stock as well.

I really believe these changes and fixes will make for a better game, and none of these should interfere with your current save files. If you've already got a saved game before the time of this update, your game clock will start at 00:00:00. So I guess you'll get caught up the next time you start a new game.
Thanks for listening to me blab, and have a grreat Saturday night! ːsteamhappyː
Achievements are here!
SHEW.
Okay, that's 22 achievements for the game. Ranging from killing big monsters to finding rare items to saving the ol' pets, there should be a good range of different tasks to complete now.
This was a good idea. Thanks, Batmobility!
Achievements are coming!
I plan on creating achievements for this starting tonight, to be added to the game shortly thereafter.
I wasn't really sure if people wanted them but I was wrong :JAC_Cleric:
More to follow!
Mere days before release!
MERE, I say!
Weebish Mines will drop this Friday, April 21st for everyone. In addition to being a tough, old school Metroidvania it'll also be 20% off the already low retail price of $2.99.
So what can you get instead of Weebish Mines this Friday?
2 McDonalds hashbrowns
3 donuts at Dunkin Donuts
A few tubes of an acrylic paint set
1/3 cup of a small Starbucks anything
If you could buy Weebish Mines 14 times for your friends, you could've also named a star at Star Register.com, but honestly that's the stupidest thing ever.
If you could buy Weebish Mines 169,583 times for your friends, you could have also bought a 2016 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4, and then we'd all smack you.
