Community Update November 2020
I'm WGTChampion and welcome to another edition of WGTChampion's Community Update Blog.
And now the updates:
1. There's going to be a release with downtime next week
We're scheduling a client update with downtime before we take a little break for Thanksgiving which means it's been a short development cycle and it will be a fairly light release. Be sure to check out the release notes next week to see what's new.
2. The new release will have a much-needed improvement that allows country club owners to approve players who request membership to their club
Previously, club owners would have to keep their club open to all users or log in to the Flash version of the game to approve requests for players to join their country club.
3. This Saturday, November 14, is the WGT Live Series: November Championship streaming live on WGT's Twitch channel

4. Let's talk about Notebooks.
If you're not familiar, in the Flash version of WGT players could buy Notebooks as a way to write and save notes in the game for every hole on every course.
If you already had a notebook from the Flash version, you'll be receiving one for free AND it will come ready to use, with all your saved notes in it!
If you haven't had it in the past, The Notebook is coming soon to the proshop for all players.

Community Update October 2020
This week we released an update that added a new Putting Grid style to the game. For players who have played the Flash version of our game, you can now find a "Putting Grid Classic" mode, that's much closer to that experience.
To use it: Go to settings, find the "Putting Grid" option and switch from the default "Standard" to "Classic."
The Putting Grid Classic option sets the putting grid dots to move at the same speed as Flash did, changes the elevation colors slightly, and adds the lock/unlock putting grid feature.
In the next update we're adding a new brand of apparel to the game called WGT Classic. This brand will include apparel items that match avatar outfits from the Flash version of the game, so your avatar can maintain their style from Flash. All of the items will be available in the Pro Shop, but if you owned the Flash versions of the outfit previously, you'll automatically receive the apparel pieces in your inbox once they've been released.
In our first WGT Classic apparel drop, we're planning to release the following:
- Funky Fan Choice 2012 (male and female)
- Tartan Blue (male) bundled with Sweet Tartan (female)
- Vintage Plus Fours (male and female)
- Crimson Pride (male and a
- new* female version)
This is just the first release of WGT Classic items, and we'll be continuing to add more over time. One more note, some of the outfit names may change (I'm looking at you, "Funky Fan Choice 2012"), in case you don't see the specific outfit you're looking for by name!

Community Update September 2020
It's that nice part of September when the leaves start changing color and Champion shows up to talk about WGT.
In my August post I listed a few things we're working on. Today I want to focus specifically on the progress we're making to improve the aim marker. As you continue reading, please keep in mind that development is still in progress, and the final product may look or be functionally different than shown here.
The first change is to the aim box itself, which is now a single color that's easy to see on bright backgrounds and easier to see through when on the green.
The second change is to the reverse camera when putting. The aimer will now move low to the ground, which is the default placement from the Flash version of the game. This gives a better look at the green. Plus, the aimer no longer covers the majority of the grid lines between the player and the cup.
The third change is a show/hide toggle for the aimer altogether. When this feature is available, you'll be able to use the "v" key, which you can rebind in settings to hide the aim box. This will allow you to get a clean view of your putts or anywhere else you'd prefer to see without the aim marker box. Note that you cannot drag your aim while the aim box is hidden.
