Outdoor Running Fixed- Patch 1.18
We fixed an issue where sometimes Elena would not run outdoors. Thanks everyone who brought this to our attention!

RUN ELENA!- Patch 1.17
A highly requested feature was to increase Elena's walk speed or allow her to run. Whispering Willows was created to be an immersive experience where players took their time to really read, admire, and explore the world. The puzzles and maps were all designed around this, and that's the main reason why we didn't do it in the past.

After a lot of playtesting and feedback we decided to include running for the outside area. This outside area was always meant more as a map to get from one location to another, and there are only a few puzzles. It's the most tedious area to walk slowly around, and so now you can hold shift to run when outside. We hope everyone enjoys this change, thank you for your feedback.

We have also included language support for Ukrainian and Polish languages as well as updated others! The full list of patch updates can be found below. :CatacombSkull:

Patch Notes:
  • When outside you can run by pushing [SHIFT]. Elena disapproves if you attempt to run indoors, because we all know her parents wouldn't allow that :)
  • Added Ukrainian language
  • Added Polish language
  • Updated French language
  • We included a save point right before meeting Wortham the last time, so all you achievement hunters can load up your game after you beat it to get the remaining achievements.
  • We removed the intro cinematic that played when booting up the game. Now it only happens when you start a New Game
  • We fixed a bug near Fleur. You could push the dresser through the door way which would cause the door to shut on you and trap you, making it so you were unable to get back through the doorway. If this bug happened to you return to the stuck door from the right side and it should pop open.
  • We fixed a bug where the mace would stay in your inventory after you gave it to the knight.
  • Dialogue is fixed in some areas for English where there would be a bunch of dialogue on one page, and only a few words on the next page. It's spaced out more accordingly now.

Controller Support!- Patch 1.16
We're pleased to announce that we now have controller support for Whispering Willows. This was a heavily requested feature that we really wanted to deliver on. Whispering Willows is an adventure game that was made to be played on a couch. The game just feels right being played with a controller, so if you have one, we suggest plugging it in!

Since we released the game on Steam, we also fixed the following:

  • Elena can switch forms while moving
  • Game is playable offline
  • Multiple resolutions available

  • Secret easter egg ghost added from So Many Me
  • Fixed spawn points


As well as a bunch of bugs fixed across patches.

Patch 1.15
We are still working on controller support and hope to have it ready by later this week. In the meantime we fixed a few major bugs:
  • The screen would go black (and stay black) when starting the game with higher end hardware. This should no longer happen.
  • Cutscenes quality improved so they are less laggy and less pixelated

Patch 1.14
Thanks everyone for your continued support. We ironed out a lot of issues in this latest patch and hope this version should hold up for a while. We also recently released the extra DLC contents (art book, soundtrack, wallpaper) of the Deluxe Edition for purchase separately. You can find that on the store page.

Patch Notes:

  • As Elena, you can now switch forms while moving. You can also now interact with objects while moving!
  • Game is now playable even if not logged into Steam
  • Multiple resolutions are now available, instead of just one (we claimed this was fixed in the last patch, but it wasn't)
  • Italian language bug fixed where if you quit the game and came back, diary and notes wouldn't display correctly
  • Fixed a bug that would display the "Chapter 2" and "Chapter 3" title screens every time you entered particular doors


The big thing we'd still like to work on is getting the video quality to be less laggy and higher quality.

Patch 1.13
Hello everyone! Thanks for working with us today on our Steam launch. It has been a very exciting day for us. We have received quite a bit of fantastic feedback from the community, thank you!

Here are the patch notes:
  • Downloadable content for the "Deluxe Edition" will now download correctly- soundtrack, art book, and wallpaper
  • Language selection was not available in game, only when starting new game- you can now adjust from the main menu, "new game," or in game menu
  • Various bugs with translations are fixed including diaries & notes now displaying correctly. Some translations were also updated to include more correct phrasing
  • New secret ghost added in the gardens
  • When you receive a new note or diary, the wording was very close together- this is now fixed
  • In chapter 4 we fixed some of the spawn points that were far away
