The Ghost: The Brimstone mine has swallowed a victim! Old resentments are rising from the dead. Only the truth can banish what is to come. Brimstone needs a team who aren't afraid of no ghost to bust this case.
The Giraffe: The circus is in town and passions are as high as a giraffe's head. Can the famously murder-happy residents of Brimstone enjoy the exotic delights of the circus without butchering one another in the dark?
The Cocktail: The who's who of Brimstone is throwing a party after an incredible windfall. The ice is cold, the drinks are exotic, and the odds of survival are... about the same.
The Curse: Something has been festering in the heart of Brimstone for years. Escalating events reveal a disturbing truth at the core of Brimstone. Will you be able to solve the mystery and bring the secrets to light?
Each case is designed to be solved in about 60 - 90 minutes - that’s 6 - 9 hours of gameplay guaranteed in the initial release. Although, if you are playing solo, it’s likely to take a little longer.
Friends play for free
As promised, Whispers in the West is a point-and-click adventure with a twist - as a player, you can either go solo or collaborate with family or friends. Unlike many co-op games, Whispers in the West doesn’t require those who are invited to buy another copy of the game. Anyone can join a room using the Steam demo for free, as long as the host owns the game. Because we are a firm believer that games are better with friends, and friends should play for free.

Twitch Integration for Streamers
Whispers in the West could not have existed without our previous Twitch streamers and their community. To support streamers better engaging with their audience, we designed a Twitch integration that enables viewers to interact with the streamer in the game through chat - viewers can prompt the streamers to check on a suspect or vote on the final answers.
Multi-languages for the Base Game
For gamers from 🇲🇽 🇦🇷 🇪🇸 🇩🇪 🇨🇱 🇨🇴 🇯🇵 🇺🇾 🇻🇪 and beyond, we are glad to announce that the base game will be available in English, Spanish, German and Japanese. However, the DLCs are in English only at the moment. Sorry, we’d really like to offer the full game to a global audience, but unfortunately, our budget doesn’t allow us to localise the full game or in more languages. That’s why, if you’d like to see more content in your language, please let the world know - that’s the only way we can do it.

A Sneak Peek: Whispers in the West available on 25 July
Cowboys and cowgirls, saddle up and get ready to solve crimes in the West - Whispers in the West will soon be available on 25 July. Let’s take a sneak peek at what’s there in the initial release -
Six mystery cases to be solved
Whispers in the West is an episodic point-and-click murder mystery game - each episode is a mystery case waiting to be solved. Each story is unique and independent from each other (OK, they are loosely connected). The initial release will come with six cases: The Break-in: The Break-in comes with the base game. Dawn breaks to find the Brimstone Bank broken open. What comes spilling out could bury this town. It's time to roll up your sleeves and get sleuthing, before everything unravels.
The Cult: A grizzly murder with an old-fashioned weapon! A town overrun with superstition and paranoia! An inventor and “saviour” who claims he can remake the world! Four investigators to make sense of it all before it's too late.

6 Essential Social Narrative Experiences
Games are better with friends. Narrative or story-driven games are traditionally a single-player experience. However, with the rise of social narrative games, you don’t have to be a lone wolf any more. Social narrative games are all about experiencing a story with your friends along for the ride, often making choices about how things will play out.
We wanted to share some that have been getting us excited -
-TickTock A Tale for Two
We’ve found that playing a puzzle game with other people in the room is an inevitable recipe for frantic gesturing at the television screen, amiable bickering, and an altogether excellent time. TickTock: A Tale For Two does a great job of accentuating this experience by providing each player with differing information and requiring their communication to succeed. It’s interested in being cosy and involved in a way that similar more party-oriented games like Keep Talking And Nobody Explodes fundamentally aren’t. It’s well worth a look.
-King of the Castle
King of the Castle really plays to the strengths of its medium. By casting you and your friends as monarchs and nobles, before setting you loose scheming against each other, it invites players to bring themselves into the game and build stories and jokes on its excellent foundations. It can be as crunchy as the legacy boardgame meetup you’re still struggling to schedule or as breezy as your lockdown Jackbox sessions. Best of all, it’s full of surprises.
-As Dusk Falls
As Dusk Falls is an award-winning entry in the genre of “films you’re supposed to talk over”. There are tons of opportunities to argue with your friends over precisely what to do, and with a maximum of 8 people playing at once, you can get pretty raucous with it. These multiplayer cinematic adventure games feel like they’re developing in an exciting direction, and we can’t wait to see more.
-Whispers In The West
Whispers In The West is our own multiplayer murder mystery game. In it, teams of up to four players investigate crimes in the Old West in real time. It’s all about splitting up whilst constantly communicating and comparing information. Where was the mayor at 10 am? Why does the butcher stammer when you ask her about her seasoning? What’s that spooky sound in the mine? And did everyone hear it? Whispers In The West is a party game that invites players to immerse themselves in the goings-on of the small town of Brimstone one 20-minute mystery at a time, in an ongoing story that plays out like a classic murder mystery television show.
-Chronicles Of Crime
If a traditional face-to-face social experience is more of your thing, Chronicles Of Crime is a board game with maximalism that’s always worth a second look. It’s a board game with an app that supports virtual reality to boot. The mysteries you’re solving often link into bigger stories, and there’s something for everyone to talk about and loads of toys to play with.
-MUD
If you are feeling nostalgic, MUD or multi-user dungeon, was an avant-garde video game experience rooted back in the 1970s. It’s difficult to talk about multiplayer social experiences without someone eventually going dewy-eyed and recollecting the most exciting thing you’ve ever heard about their experience in MUD or one of its offshoots. MUD is directly responsible for some of the most astounding MMORPGs like EverQuest or World of Warcraft. Today, MUD can still be accessed for free. It’s definitely worth your attention.
Steam Mystery Festival Wrap-up
The Steam Mystery Festival came to a close recently and we loved watching streams of our game. We were actually in the Wild West over the festival and thought it’d be an idea to send out postcards to those who played the game live.
As well as participating, we managed to sneak off to investigate some truly wonderful mystery games also taking part in the festival. Here are some of our favourites:
The Case of the Golden Idol Something genuinely new and fresh, and with fantastic pixel art, The Case of the Golden Idol leaves the investigating firmly in your hands. Search for clues, motives and murder weapons and put them together in your notebook to solve each case. But get the wrong choices, and it’s curtains! We LOVED it.
Grimfield Mystery Cute and beautiful on the outside, deep and macabre on the inside! Grimfield Mystery features the small village of Grimfield, where the mystery is its middle name. The protagonist Lucas goes along with the wishes of his paranormal-loving parents to check out the local forest, and a new floating hand later, Lucas goes on his adventure!
A Lonely Cabin Trip When has a solo visit to an isolated island ever gone well? A Lonely Cabin Trip takes this premise and invites you on a psychological horror adventure with a genuine mystery to uncover. Have you visited before? It all looks familiar, but it shouldn’t, should it? There are different ways to solve problems with several endings too, plus it looks gorgeous!
Wayward Strand This story-rich adventure left us wanting more. We have to learn about the lives of those living in an airborne hospital, explore the area and generally collect our stories for the school newspaper. Time continues for everyone, so if you don’t investigate one strand of a story, it’s gone til your next playthrough. A wonderful delight of a game.
We spoke to so many players, both old and new, who played Whispers in the West during the festival and saw a lovely bump in wishlists too! Thank you to everyone who tried out our game.
You can still play the demo and wishlist the game now!
Today marks the start of the Steam Mystery Festival showcasing the best and brightest detective and mystery games available and coming soon. And you’re invited!
The ‘Mystery’ genre is not a new concept, with the very first graphical adventure game ever made being Mystery House in 1980, a ‘whodunit’ set in a creepy Victorian mansion. Fast forward 43 years and our very own mystery will be on its way soon!
When you’re unravelling a mystery, it’s handy to have a notebook of sorts to keep track of your ideas, possible suspects and motives, but sometimes you need a different way of thinking. You need a second pair of eyes.
You need a team.
Whispers in the West, our multiplayer murder mystery, brings together all the vital parts of the mystery detective genre and adds co-op! When you’re stuck on a clue, a motive or a suspect you can have a discussion with your team and maybe broach a different theory. Sure it might be off-kilter, it may be a radical idea, but sharing with your friends is what gaming is about! You may all align your thoughts and crack the case, or you may discuss at length and still disagree on the who, the what and the why. But in the end, you’ll have to come together to decide who you think is the culprit.
Whispers in the West can be played with up to 4 players, each member of the team picking a different character to play. Will you be the tough Sheriff and use your badge to calm down a suspect? Or maybe the lawless cowboy, shooting from the hip with his gun, ready to scare the truth out of people? Each character has their own unique skill to help, and hinder the case.
We’d love for you to try out Whispers in the West and stream it with your friends. The game can also be played as a 1 player game.
The demo features the first case and is fully available to play right now.
