Hello heroes of Who Needs a Hero! How is everyone doing?
I would like to thank you for your continuous support and patience over the past years. We know that many of you are eagerly awaiting a new update on Steam, and we understand how much it can enhance the game and provide more hours of gameplay.
Our team consists only of me and a programmer, and unfortunately, we cannot dedicate all our time to the game's development. Currently, we are working on it only in our spare time, which is why it has taken so long to bring you new content.
However, I want you to know that I highly value your support and I am truly grateful. We are doing our best to bring the Steam update to you as soon as possible. While we cannot make specific promises at this time, we are committed to offering you an increasingly better experience.

Fixed a bug where the last armor cape was not showing
We have increased the value of some items on the market
Fixed two events/character that aren't showing up so often
Fixed two characters that should not appear at certain level
Fixed some spelling mistakes
And we're investigating a bug where people are not receiving the achievement "Save the Kingdom". if you didnt receive, or received this achievement, please let me know on comments. (IMPORTANT: you need to win the battle against the first BOSS to get this achievement.)

Hero Tournament Update!
The Hero Tournament update is alive!
We are pleased to announce that the new update HERO TOURNAMENT is NOW AVAILABLE! (I'm gonna cry haha)
The Hero Tournament update brings an exciting inventory systems and a new funny and challenging story! Who Needs a Hero is a text-based game with RPG elements, and WE LOVE RPG! So fortunately this update comes with a huge improvement and enhancements for your experience.
So to bring this new experience for you, we had to take a hard decision to reset your save games. The reason is because this new update was no longer compatible with the previous version of the game. It's crucial that you start a new game, since the merchant and new characters will show early on. I really hope you understand, I'm really sorry! Lov you all heroes <3

What's new?
Inventory and Shopping!
For a better use of your coins and followers, we're adding a inventory system with 20 unique and comic items. Heroes will be able to buy items with gold coins, and those who want to be a evil hero, there's the black market to trade your followers for items too.
The items will have different effects such as: Increase your health, increase your strength, roll more dice in battles, evolve your pet, unlock new customs, unlock new dialogues, etc.
A New Story! New Characters!
We're adding 30 new characters with their own dialogues and story! Not all characters are listed below, but I know you will unlock everyone as a true hero.
4 New Scenarios
There will be 4 new scenarios: Underworld, Capital, Arena and Ocean. It's time to cross the Ocean, visit the Underworld to get stronger, buy items in the Capital and battle in the Arena to become the strongest hero in the world!
A New Ultra Legendary Sword
We're adding a new pog sword with a new feature. You will be able to enchant your Raw Sword with four Rare Gems: Fire, Ice, Fire and Ice, Dark.
Each gem has an unique skin and status/effect. And of course, a nice description for each one!
More customization and mounts to ride!
We're adding 5 new color and hairstyles, a new system to customize your armor color. And we cant forget about the mount to ride! But don't forget, to unlock certain mounts you need to choose wisely.
Quick word and future plans
We still have a lot of ideas that we want to implement, ideas that have already been posted here on Steam before. But we decided to go slower, we're always reading your feedback and reviews. So after this update, based on your feedback, we'll be studying the best features to be added in the next major update.
IMPORTANT: As I mentioned earlier, this is a new game that's no more compatible with the previous version. So all save games were reset. please don't be mad with me, I always want the best for you <3

Beta Version - PATCH NOTES
Hello Heroes! Hope you're doing great! We just updated the BETA with a new bug fixes and improvements.
Here's a quick summary of what we've been up to:
Small fixes to prevent getting stuck.
Adjustments to sound effects.
Added a healing animation.
Decreased the followers price on the Black Market
Added more Health Potions to buy
Added more Traps to buy
Added a new monster
We fixed some spelling mistakes
We improved the Save Game system (we're still testing)
Fixed a layout bug on the chat followers and store
Layout improvement
Fixed a small visual glitch where the edges of the player sprite don't fully disappear when attacking.
Fixed an event that Black Market was asking for gold intead of followers
Added new dialogues to the story

Thank you all so much for your support throughout Beta Test! Many people helped us by filling out the form! And that's very good, because we can improve the game even more.
The plan remains the same, we intend to launch on April 10th. But since there are a lot of people testing, we are finding more bugs than we expected (GOD HELP US). But don't worry, if we need to delay the release, it will only be for a few days! We want to be sure everything is ok.

BETA TEST IS AVAILABLE!
Hello Heroes, hope you're doing well! The BETA TEST is now available!
HOW TO PLAY: 1) You need to have Who Needs a Hero? game on your Library 2 Right click on Who Needs a Hero? and click on properties 3) Select "BETA" and use the code: milkyway9000 4) Done, now you can install the BETA VERSION.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:
You need to start a new game. And after this Beta, all your progress will be lost.
Press the "T" key to increase the game speed by 2x. This will help you test faster.
The game has a few errors that we are already aware of, but these errors will not interfere with the gameplay, don't worry.
KNOWS ISSUES:
After you finish the game, we're facing a save game problem. So you won't be able to start a New Game.
In the coming weeks we will be fixing and improving the game for the official release (APRIL 10).
The beta version will end April 9th

Beta Test: 27 March
Hello Heroes! Hello Army! Hope everyone are doing well! 🧡🧡🧡
I'd like to announce that we will be doing a Beta Test before the Update come alive. And I'm really sorry for letting you know just one day before the release date.
Below I will explain it better why we had to do it. Hope you understand.
The game will go into a beta testing on 27th March, during 14 days. There is a lot of content being added and we're facing more bugs than we expected ːsteamsadː ːsteamsadː ːsteamsadː So we want to test the game with as many people as possible before releasing the update to the entire Steam community.
The new update will be released on Sunday (10/04/2022), with NO DELAY THIS TIME. We will make sure that everything is balanced, no bugs, new music implemented, new animations, among other details and effects.
We prefer to delay the release for a few days instead of releasing a buggy game and spoiling your experience.

Hello Heroes! Its been a while, right? Hope everyone is doing great. The new update is taaaking so long, I know. And I'd like to apologize again for that.
The main reason of this delay, is that I had a few personal problems. Also, the new update have a lot of content, so we're doing our best to deliver everything we promised. Hope you understand 🙏 🙏🙏
But now we have a release date: March 21st, 2022. Now let me show what we've been working on!
As I mentioned, we want you to make better use of your coins, fame and followers. So we'll be adding 20 new items that you can buy on the shopping. There will the normal shopping to use your gold coins, and there will be the black market to trade your followers and fame for items too.
The items will have different effects such as: Increase your health, increase your strength, roll more dice in battles, evolve your pet, etc.
Yes, we will be adding a whole new story with 30 new characters. Not all characters are listed below, I want you to play before you see everyone, for example the new Final Boss that's surprise.
There will be 4 new scenarios: Underworld, Capital, Arena and Ocean. As I mentioned before, after you save the Kingdom of Grimar, you will be invited to a tournament that takes place every 10,000 years. So now you will need to cross the Ocean, visit the Underworld to get stronger, buy items in the Capital and battle in the Arena to become the strongest hero in the world!

Here is a list of everything that will be added to the new update:
<*> A New Story for level 80+! A tournament that takes place every 10,000 years will start. And only the strongest heroes were invited! Will you be the strongest hero in the world?
<*> Twenty new characters with new dialogues!
<*> Three new scenarios! (Yes, Underworld is one of them!)
<*> Market: Buy items, mounts, weapons and relics with your gold coins.
<*> Black Market: Buy prohibited items with your followers.
<*> Mount System: You can have up to 4 mounts, changing them whenever you want in the main menu.
<*> Items: Life potion, strength potion, mermaid milk, boar bones, a rare candy to evolve your pet, four new weapons to roll more dices during the battle and more. (I haven't decided all of them yet, but there will be more than 10 items!)
<*> Save Slots: You'll be able to have three save games.
<*> Russian and Germany Languages confirmed!
<*> Mind Reading Skill: The skill that is available only on DLC 18+, now will be on the next update too! It's time to read their minds to know their true intentions.
<*> More content for the custom system! (New colors and hair styles, scars on the face and you'll be able to change your armor color now)
