Who's Your Daddy

Release Delay

Hello Everyone

I have decided to delay the official release for up to another week.

It is unfortunate, however several game breaking bugs and performance issues have been found after testing the full release version of the game across several systems.

I do not wish to push broken content, and will release once these issues are addressed. I apologize for any broken hearts this may cause.

V1.2.0 Minor Update - Daddy learns to crawl!

V1.2.0 Is now available for download!

This update is on the smaller side as most changes will remain "behind the scenes" until the official release date of April 29th.

Main Changes:
  • Daddy can now crawl! This was added to address the issue of babies hiding under objects daddies could not previously reach. It is defaulted to "Z" (You may be required to set this manually)
  • Fixed an issue where you lost your cursor after spectating in Family Gathering
  • Lobbies now use your Steam name by default. This can be reverted within the "Gameplay" settings menu
  • Mouse sensitivity can no longer be set to absolute zero

No detailed patch notes as this is the full list.
For those concerned with the achievements appearing, they are purely for testing purposes. I have no way to hide them from the public. Achievements will be made available on April 29th with the official release of the game.

V1.1.0 - Graphics Optimizations - What to expect for official release?

The most significant change in this update is increased frame rates cause by improved meshes and several new graphics options including:

  • Low Quality Textures
  • Limited View Distance
  • Low Quality Render Engine

Several other features/fixes come with this update as well:
  • When playing Family Gathering with the "All Babies Must Die" option, babies can now spectate after dying
  • Set To Default buttons have been added to all the main menu options
  • Split Screen UI has been restored
  • And more to be found in the detailed patch notes

What to expect for the official release on April 29th

With the official release coming soon, I'd like to fill everyone in what to expect by this date. You can be prepared to see the following core new features by this date:
  • Explorable outside mode with new dangers and chores
  • 22 Achievements to be earned, with an unlockable wearable connected to each one
  • Increased customization for custom games, options such as turning off specific items, changing round time, and additional win conditions
  • Various Leaderboards to compete in
  • And more to be revealed!

The purpose of this release date is to signify the completion of the product which I had originally intended to end up with. However, due to the games extraordinary success, development will be continuing far beyond this point and you can still expect weekly updates for many months to come! Features such as more game modes, new maps, new items, and new characters will be coming at no additional costs to all players!

V1.0.0 Beta is Here! Character Customization!

V1.0.0 is ready for download!

The Official Beta is now beginning for Who's Your Daddy! With this update comes a new "Character Customization" Menu allowing you to give your Daddy or Baby some fashionable head-wear! Currently all items are unlocked, with more planned to be added in the future as unlock-able within the game!

V1.0.0 Main Changes
  • Character Customization
  • Private Family Gathering Games now available
  • New Item Fire Extinguisher: Allows you to de-flame a lit Baby
  • Family Gathering now has the option to require all Babies to die
  • Can now choose whether to start as Daddy or Baby when creating a custom Original game
  • And many other changes which can be found in the Detailed Patch Notes

The main focus of the beta will be to improve networking and graphics optimizations. Please continue to post any issues you come across in the discussions, remember to include specs. Videos/Screenshots are immensely helpful as well.

If you have ideas for wearable items, post them in the discussions! I just might put it in the game!

V0.9.9 - New Game Mode! - Family Gathering

V0.9.9 Update: Family Gathering Game Mode

The highly anticipated Family Gathering Mode is now ready for public testing! This mode allows you to play with up to 8 players having any combination of Daddies and Babies.

Currently, only one baby has to die in order for that team to win. Game hosts have sole control over who plays what and hold the ability to kick players. There is also a chat feature in the Family Gathering Lobby which will soon be moved to other modes if it is taken well.

There are also several bug fixes for this build which can be found in the Detailed Patch Notes.

Warning - A lot of major systems/code needed complete rewrites to support more than two players. While I do my best to test on my own, this build may potentially be filled with some new bugs. Please post in the discussions with anything you find as I will be on standby over the weekend to push necessary hot fixes addressing any serious issues.

The plan over the next 7-14 0 days is to push several updates to prepare for the official start of the beta, which will feature improved matchmaking, lobbies and the basis for character customization.

Character Customization will include the ability to switch between cosmetic items such as hats, shirts, and diapers and will give you the ability to stand out from the crowd. All items will be unlocked from simply playing the game. More details will come with their release.

Have Fun!

Family Gathering and Official Release Delayed

Family Gathering is still too deep in the testing phase to be made public at this point. I chose to focus on increasing performance this week, this is the cause for delay. You can expect it to come with next week's update ready to go!

After some careful consideration, I have also chosen to delay the official release of the game. The games official release date will now be April 29th, and the Beta will begin on March 31st.

I made this decision being well aware that I would not be able to add in the remaining content I have planned before the initial date(Such as game modes, an outside area, and character customization). I did not want to give the impression that I was pushing what is currently an incomplete game as ready for an official release.
