Wild Honesty: A Party Game for Deeper Conversations
One Year Anniversary Update (Extra Vulnerable Edition)
Big news to celebrate Wild Honesty's 1yr anniversary! Thank you all for sticking with us this long! 9/30/21 will be our first birthday!
First up: the game is 40% off through Sunday night (10/3/21) - our biggest sale ever. If you have friends who haven't bought it yet that might like it, we're celebrating, so now is the time!
Second: As a treat for our deepest fans, the Extra Vulnerable Pack is now released! Our lead question writer Kalina Silverman said that this was the first time she really felt that she didn't have to hold anything back - and I can confirm it. I'm really excited about this one, and I think you'll like it.
Third: Long overdue, we missed one of our intended question packs back in April of this year, and are finally releasing the Spring Pack to make the 1yr anniversary a double update. We've got questions about growth, nature, and wildlife in a number of ways. If you like the outdoors, it's a solid pack for that.
And fourth as always: twice as many new animals are added this time, for a whopping 40 additions. We now have 1,000+ questions total, 12 bonus question packs, and 250+ animals. We only launched with around 10% of this, so it's been a privilege getting to build it out with you all over the last year.
Just on a personal note - I want to thank you all for giving Wild Honesty such a chance. The idea of an emotionally vulnerable party game sends some folks running, but the fans we have are so inspiring, it keeps morale high. You all have been an honor to make this game for, and I feel lucky that together we've been able bring this to the world.
And please check the credits and give a shoutout to the rest of our team too - they've all been working nonstop on all this. Kalina, Rachel, Andy, Allison, Dana, and everyone at Tubik have all been working hard on a near weekly basis here - not to mention all who came before them. It's been a huge group effort, and I'm so proud of how many talented folks I've been lucky enough to work with along the way.
Thank you all! It's been an honor so far, and I can't wait for what comes next!
Sincerely, Brian
Back to School Update
Introducing the "Back to School" pack! With 80 new questions about academia, the formal and informal teachers in our lives, and what it means to learn and grow - you'll quickly get a sense for how education plays a role in the lives of your fellow players.
Long requested: a "Questions Only" option has been added too! In Settings, you can now choose an "Animals Off" state to play with only questions. Players who wish to keep diving into conversations without guessing games can settle into more serious, focused gameplay with no palette cleansers inbetween. We do not recommend this mode for first time players! The guessing game helps with the emotional weight of the subject matters, but we are introducing this experimental mode at players' requests. Please do give us feedback though if you do use it - that will help us refine it even more!
Minor fixes include slightly improved 4k screen support, better fullscreen and windowed hotkey and multi-monitor switching support, and very slight UI fixes for keyboard/controller navigation.
Thanks for playing, all! We should have something special to celebrate our 1yr anniversary near the end of this month!
National History Update
[previewyoutube="mUMrIW4TE3o;full"] This pack makes significant changes to the final question in each round. Now tied to vulnerability level, finale questions will be better suited for any session's chosen friendship level. This will lead to better connections, more fulfilling conclusions, and uniquely suited prompts for every set of friends. This has been applied to all past question packs now, as well as all future ones.
We also released the National game pack! It focuses on political history, national culture, and how land and ethnicity overlap with that. Expect to be challenged as you answer prompts about what our nations, their histories, and futures mean to you.
More animals are also joining the mix, but we figure the question changes and new questions matter most.
One more small update is that we've reduced the game size by almost 50% with improved video codecs! This should help us have space to keep adding more updates without becoming a large burden on anyone's computers.
Enjoy, and thank you for staying with us all these months! We have some big news coming soon!
