Redmoon Rising Raid Preview
The Redmoon Terror raid fast approaches, and the first tale in this terrifying saga of extraterrestrial doom is the Redmoon Rising update—arriving August 17!
The Redmoon Terror
In a transmission intercepted from a Protostar QC recovery team—presumably on a routine mission to annoy every sentient creature in the galaxy—a craft reportedly hulking in the Nexus skyline has been identified as the remains of an abandoned pirate ship known as the Redmoon Terror. A spokesperson for the Ekose Shiphands Union was able to specify that the floating fortress had been a Marauder flagship seized in a murderous mutiny by none other than Mordechai Redmoon himself—who then very humbly attached his own name to it. Known to have bitten the proverbial moon dust on Skullcano Island, the ship of Mordechai Redmoon serves as a haunting reminder of his vast (and past) pirating deeds—if not the general dangers of space debris.
Even after all this time the ship now appears to be teeming with activity, believed by some to be automated response systems due to its proximity to the Nexus atmosphere. But one of the first captains of the ship, Ish’amel—back when it was called the Nebula's Knave—believes the crew to now be risen from the dead by the insidious Laveka the Dark-Hearted, and is offering a reward to all able bodied adventurers willing to end this undead nightmare.
Spooky sorcery or just spinning space trash? You decide!
Redmoon Rising
After identifying the nature of the threat posed by this cursed craft and its risen captain, Ish’amel is calling on the most bad-ass level-50 heroes to board the dread ship Redmoon Terror and confront its malevolent Marauder menace. Those who raid the vessel and live to talk about it will walk away with some precious plunder, and promising new levels of power. Don’t storm in ill-prepared though! Redmoon Rising is a foreboding first foray onto this ship—a challenge demanding even of those adventurers with experience braving the Datascape!
Before you blast off to certain doom, let’s take a look at the filthiest of foes—among mini-bosses and other mischievous minions—you’ll encounter. All aboard the Redmoon Terror!
Swabbie Ski’li
Normally on cleaning duty for the disposal chutes, Swabbie Ski’li has suddenly found the walking dead in his domain. With the flick of a switch, he’ll be throwing all unwanted invaders into his giant shredder.
Robomination
A horrible amalgam of mechanical and biological waste that “lives” in the trash compactor, Robomination also happens to be a bit territorial—just FYI.
The Redmoon Engineers
The brothers Wilbargh and Orvulgh reign supreme in the Main Engineering Core. While they can’t agree on who’s in charge, they agree that no one gets through Engineering without their say-so.
Mordechai Redmoon
The Dread Captain has returned! Laveka’s dark power keeps his heart beating, and he’s dead-set on once again becoming the most powerful Marauder Captain in the universe.
Redmoon Mutiny
Laveka and her remaining instruments of horror are menaces to look forward to in the Redmoon Mutiny update arriving soon after Redmoon Rising. The most ardent heroes will have the opportunity to loot additional spoils, complete their new class armors sets, and deal with the true threat once and for all.
Redmoon Rising will be available on August 17, so don’t get caught sitting on the sidelines when zombie space pirates are literally on the horizon!
Store Update! Darkspur of the Moment
The Lizarding World
Attention aspiring cartel moguls and criminal organizations! Your efforts toward violence and extortion will finally pay dividends when you grasp the reins of the Darkspur Trask. This reptilian roamer comes equipped with approximately the exact right amount of intimidating spikes and coarsened leather.
Judge, Jury, and—Killer Boots, Man!
If some Granok lawmaker is challenging your authority, you probably need a more demonstrative outfit. Even bullies on Nexus want to look pleasing while thieving. Slip head-to-toe in the Darkspur Costume like a boss on the frontier.
Mookie of the Year
Every mobster needs a loyal four-legged—scratch that—six-legged companion to pet menacingly whenever scheming and plotting. This little Mookie may have a vicious bite, but for you, he (she?) is as submissive as they get. Note: We’re not responsible for any collar-inflicted puncture wounds either accidental or purposeful.

Battle Chase Arrives July 22
Peeping Krogg
The Darkspur Cartel seeks out profit anywhere it can find it, and that includes benefiting from the conflict between the Dominion and the Exiles. While the Krogg claim to be a neutral party with no preference for either faction, they nonetheless seek to prolong the war for as long as they’re able to. By offering military goods—which are often stolen from Dominion logistics depots or Exile supply drops—at a steep discount, the Cartel continues to line its own pockets at the expense of others. The Dominion and Exiles are so blinded by their hatred for one another that they hardly notice as the predatory Krogg observe their battles from the shadows.
Prize Fight
The Battle Chase runs from July 22 until August 1, and during that time the Krogg are rewarding anyone that steps foot into a Battleground. Go toe-to-toe with the enemy and (win or lose) you’ll earn Battle Bits—a tradable event currency. You’ll get more Battle Bits for a win, of course, and once you’ve saved up enough Battle Bits you’ll want to visit Arnie “The Exchanger” Vandragg in Conqueror’s Square in Illium, or Champion’s Corner in Thayd. Arnie will exchange your Battle Bits for Krogg Kash, which you can then use at the guy next to him—Sly “The Collector” Lundggor—to purchase Battle Chase rewards like housing décor.
In addition to completing Battlegrounds and collecting Battle Bits, there are also Battle Chase Crates, which is where all the best rewards come from. You can go straight to the In-Game Store and purchase Battle Chase Crates for Protobucks or OmniBits (a free in-game currency earned alongside XP), or you can even buy Krogg Kash directly for use at Sly’s store, but you can also earn Mini-Crates just by completing a Battleground. At the end of a match you’ll have a chance to earn a Mini-Crate, which has a subset of the larger purchasable crates, but still has a chance to drop the Exile- and Dominion-themed hoverboards.
There are two In-Game Store Battle Chase Crates to purchase directly, and they offer either Exile- or Dominion-themed items inside. They’ll be available for purchase during the following times:
Battle Chase Dominion Crate
July 22–July 26
July 29–August 1
Battle Chase Exile Crate
July 26–August 1
Good lucking chasing the battle, and don’t forget that with the Heroes Evolved update being live you can now queue for multiple types of content at the same time. Have fun and see you on the battlefield!
Character Boost Guides
The in-game level 50 boosts are finally here, and by boosting a character any daring, space-faring adventurer can go directly to max level and experience some of the most insanely awesome end-game content ever made by humans. And if you need some directions for how to get to where you’re going, some ideas for how to play your character, or advice on skills and AMPs, we’ve posted a guide in partnership with Gamepedia and the official WildStar wiki to get you set off on the right foot.

Protostar loves eXtra Profits, and you love eXperience Points. Put them together and you've got a Protostar Double XP X-Plosion! For a limited time Protostar will match your experience—point for point. That means you earn twice the XP every time you earn XP during this special event. The X-Plosion runs from July 15 at 2am PDT until 11:59pm PDT on July 18.
Keep in mind that the double XP from this Double XP X-Plosion! event stacks with the bonuses from Signature, and Signature offers a ton of other great benefits too!
We recommend maximizing Protostar’s very generous Double XP X-Plosion! by tackling adventures, expeditions and dungeons, which you can queue for by using the Content Finder (N). Already level 50? During the event you can earn Elder Gems twice as fast to purchase items like Ability or AMP points. When you hit the weekly cap of 350 Elder Gems, your XP is converted to gold. It’s a good time to make good use of your time!
Put on your game faces people. It's time to be a player versus other players! “Power, Prestige, and PvP!” is a limited-time bonus event that doubles the rate you earn Prestige. Which isn’t, like it may sound, indicative of your recognition among the local monocle-laden nobility—no, in WildStar Prestige is PvP currency.
From July 8 at 2am PDT until 11:59pm PDT on July 11, you’ll earn Prestige twice as fast.
You can queue for Battlegrounds starting at level 6 through the Content Finder (press the N key), or you can start an Arena team for practice or ranked matches, which begin at level 30 and 50 respectively. You can even take part in the most dangerous game of all: world PvP. Keep in mind that full social leadership options (such as the ability to invite others to social groups, like Guilds or Arena teams) require Signature status, or reaching the 1,600 Cosmic Point reward.
Be sure to keep an eye on your Prestige—it caps at 12,000 points until you spend some. Visit the vendor regularly in Thayd (for Exiles) or Illium (if you're with the Dominion) to spend your Prestige regularly and wisely, and you can keep dominating the unlucky chuckleheads that made the mistake of going toe-to-toe with you.
See you on the Nexus battlefield!
Heroes Evolved Update on PTR
Hey all, Pappy here!
It’s been an awesome few weeks for WildStar. As you probably know, we released on Steam on June 9, welcoming a bunch of crazy new kids to the WildStar family. Then last week we updated the game with some new PvP quests, additional lighting improvements, and some brand-spankin’ new shinies at Madame Fay’s Fortunes. Throw in there ten super-fun days of Space Chase, the continuing Starfall anniversary festivities, a new DevConnect, and you’ve got a full slate of delicious WildStar goodness.
But guess what? We ain’t done. Our next content update—Heroes Evolved—has just been released on the PTR, and it’s jam packed with exciting new systems and features that give you more choices on what you play, how you play, and who you play with! With Redmoon Terror and other new content set to release over the next few months, many of these features are focused on getting you prepared for more epic adventures on Nexus (and making sure that you look good doing it). Here are some of the highlights:
<*>Creating Level 50s: Players can purchase and create level-50 characters, allowing them to jump directly into max-level content. These characters will provide you with all of the necessary gear and system upgrades, along with some additional goodies to make sure you’re prepped for your big adventure on Nexus.
<*>Multi-Queuing: This long-awaited feature will allow you to queue up for multiple instances, either solo or as a group. We’re excited to get this feature out there, but we’re going to need your help testing it and getting it ready to go. More info on that (and a special reward if you do) below.
<*>New Race/Class Combinations: We’re adding two new race/class combinations to WildStar—Chua Warrior and Aurin Engineer. Sword-wielding space hamsters and gun-toting tree huggers are finally here!
<*>Race and Gender Changes: You’ll be able to change your race and gender inside the Chop Shop in this update. Been wanting to change that battle-scarred Draken Male into a highborn Cassian female? Don’t let your dreams be dreams.
<*>Path Master: You’ll also be able to learn and level up additional Paths, and switch between them any time you want. Become a super-smart explorer who likes to build stuff and blow it up at the same time!
<*>More Account-Wide Offerings: We’re making Protostar Promissory Notes (reputation turn-in items) into an account-wide currency that can be used by all of your characters, along with making a number of AMP and Ability Tier Points account tradeable. Altaholics assemble!
<*>Enhanced Arcterra Rewards: We are releasing some enhanced gear and other rewards to the Arcterra Soulfrost vendors, allowing players to get better prepared for veteran expeditions, dungeons and raids.
As I said above, the Heroes Evolved update is now live on the PTR and ready for you to help us test it. And if you do, you could get a Battlesworn costume back in the live game. We need to put the new multi-queuing feature through its paces, and we’re going to need your help. We’ll be organizing community playtests of the multi-queuing feature on the PTR, and those who participate during the specified times will be rewarded (along with the personal satisfaction that you have contributed to the success of one of WildStar’s coolest new features). Head over here for the details.
Last but not least, don’t forget that the Redmoon Terror—WildStar’s next raid—is also coming in August, along with some other new and exciting content that we’ll be announcing in the coming weeks. Stay tuned!
I want to end this update by giving a special shout out to the WildStar community for your passion and continued support. You have all really stepped up to help all of our new players, and have created a fun and welcoming environment where everyone can enjoy all the great things that the game has to offer. Team WildStar sends out a heartfelt “Thank You!” for your efforts.
