For a limited-time Protostar will match your experience point for point, which means you earn twice the XP every time you earn XP during this special event. The XP X-Plosion runs from October 4 at 2am PDT until 11:59pm PDT on October 17.
We recommend maximizing Protostar’s very generous Double XP X-Plosion! by tackling adventures, expeditions, and dungeons, which you can queue for by using the Content Finder (N). Already level 50? During the event you can earn Elder Gems twice as fast to purchase items like Ability or AMP points. When you hit the weekly cap of 350 Elder Gems, your XP is converted to gold. It’s a good time to make good use of your time!
Don’t have any WildStar characters yet? The Double XP X-Plosion! event is the perfect time to start, and it’s completely free!
Puppy Love Store Update
Phage Fashion Forward
Some claim that style is a way to say who you are without having to speak. Well, on Nexus, style can be a way to say where you’ve been—and what kinds of contagions you might spread—without having to speak. This is all too true with the Grimvault Violet Dye. Put a splash of this on your clothing as if to say, “The Strain epidemic never looked so good.”
Small Legs, Big Heart
A new breed of canine has been delivered to Nexus! These pint-sized pups are reportedly referred to as corgis, and we’ve got a particularly pleasant pooch seeking adoption that we colloquially refer to as Leelo. Your new best friend awaits you! And, while you’re at it, go ahead and celebrate these little guys by also picking up the Doggie Dasher hoverboard too—available together as a bundle. You’ll be howling with joy in no time!
Bingo! Dino DNA
Madame Fay is now offering all three Retrosaur color variants, for a limited time until the next full Fortune inventory refresh. If you’re missing the yellow, purple, or green mount and still want to score the gold variant, now’s the time! For a refresher on how to turn in the three color variants for a rare gold version, see the Madame Fay is Going Retro article.

Stellar Signature Monthly Rewards!
For the months of October, November, and December we’re kicking off a program to reward anyone with a Signature Membership with some special tokens of appreciation just for logging in each month.
October Signature Reward
When logging in during the month of October with a Signature-status account, players will receive a multi-redeem Preposterously Fancy Sack in their account inventory. The sack contains the aptly-named Fancy Blurple dye, and preposterously fancy Preposterous Silk Hat.
November Signature Reward
For logging in during the month of November as a Signature member, you’ll score a multi-redeem Empyrean Woolie. This peregrine plain strider is more than ready to make its debut, eagerly waiting to transport you on your wildest adventures across just about any terrain.
December Signature Reward
Signature holders who log in during the month of December will get to care for an adorable multi-redeem Sproutshell. The little thing doesn’t even have the intellectual capacity to understand what it is (plant-turtle-chicken?) but it’s ready to love and be loved in return. You could maybe try feeding it plants, though that might be considered cannibalism. In any event, cannibalism isn’t strictly policed on Nexus—use your best judgment!
If you don’t have Signature status and want to get your mitts on these rewards, it’s not too late! Sign up now and grab these perks while they’re around each month. You’ll still get all the other Signature benefits too!
Double Prestige Bonus Sept. 30–Oct. 3
Put on your game faces people. It's time to be a player versus other players! “Power, Prestige, and PvP!” is a limited-time bonus event that doubles the rate you earn Prestige. Which isn’t, like it may sound, indicative of your recognition among the local monocle-laden nobility—no, in WildStar Prestige is PvP currency.
From September 30 at 2am PDT until 11:59pm PDT on October 3, you’ll earn Prestige twice as fast.
You can queue for Battlegrounds starting at level 6 through the Content Finder (press the N key), or you can start an Arena team for practice or ranked matches, which begin at level 30 and 50 respectively. You can even take party in the most dangerous game of all: world PvP. Keep in mind that full social leadership options (such as the ability to invite others to social groups, like Guilds or Arena teams) require Signature status, or reaching the 1,600 Cosmic Point reward.
Be sure to keep an eye on your Prestige—it caps at 12,000 points until you spend some. Visit the vendor regularly in Thayd (for Exiles) or Illium (if you're with the Dominion) to spend your Prestige regularly and wisely, and you can keep dominating the unlucky chuckleheads that made the mistake of going toe-to-toe with you.
See you on the Nexus battlefield!
Lockboxes and You
Unlock & Load
If you’ve ever wondered what that shiny chest is at the end of an instance, or shrugged it off because you didn’t have a key to peek inside, listen up!
Every savvy Nexus adventurer should know that Lockboxes provide a perfect means of padding your inventory with quality bonus items, after all other loot has dropped and been dealt. These chests spawn upon completing Veteran Expeditions, Veteran Adventures, and Veteran Dungeons, as well as defeating world bosses. In addition, you’ll earn a lockbox for completing any of the three Public Events in Star-Comm Basin, plus Siege of the Lightspire (the Defile), Guardians of the Grove (Blighthaven), and Hellrose Bowl and Containment R-12 (Malgrave).
And—coming to Nexus with the 1.6.1 game update Wednesday, September 28—there’s also a chance for a lockbox to drop for your Raid group each time you kill a boss in Genetic Archives and Datascape. It’s up to your team to determine how to dole these Raid caches out when they drop from a boss, as they can be traded or even sold on the Auction House.
What’s in the Lockbox?
Standard (non-Raid) lockboxes are guaranteed to contain gear and foci for all levels of players. Level 50 players will always receive a piece of ilvl 100 gear and a cosmetic item, as well as variable amounts and qualities of rune set foci. If you’re not yet level 50, the drops will be scaled down to your level.
Raid lockboxes contain class set gear correspondent with the Raid in which they drop, variable amounts and qualities of class foci, as well as the potential for some assortment of rune foci and cosmetic items from the same sets found in standard lockboxes.
Ultimately, lockboxes are there to give you an extra shot at significantly boosting your character’s power, as well as a chance at bonus OmniBits, Service Tokens, and a plethora of cosmetic items.
Where My Keys?
Of course, a lockbox wouldn’t be very useful without a key! You can collect keys in a number of different ways to ensure you always have one handy before warping into the fray. Signature subscribers receive one free Lockbox Key per week as a perk of membership. In addition, anyone can purchase Lockbox Keys from the In-Game Store using OmniBits (a free currency earned in-game alongside XP) or Protobucks.
Ready to jump into WildStar and start unlocking some Lockboxes? You can unleash these treasures—and a ton more—totally for free!
Update: An earlier version of this article implied that the changes to standard lockboxes and addition of raid lockboxes are already live. They'll be implemented with the 1.6.1 game update currently slated for release Wednesday, September 28.

Everyone needs the perfect attire, whether out for a thriller night or up for a little moonwalking. This Safety Dance Costume comes equipped with just the right amount of jacket zippers, shoe buckles, and glove sequins. And the whole world has to answer right now just to tell you once again…
It’s a the Green One!
It’s time again for Madame Fay to swap up her available mounts, and the green variant of the Retrosaur is now in stock and available to the fortunate among you. As a reminder, this update replaces the purple variant in the Madame Fay Fortunes. In approximately two weeks all three color variants will be available until the next full Fortune inventory refresh.

Nexus with Friends - September 16–19
Nexus is full of nefarious baddies and intergalactic space monsters—so many things better witnessed, experienced, survived, and slain for loot while in the company of dear friends (or even just a few strangers). There’s never a better time to group up than during the Nexus with Friends event!
Renown is a currency you earn from completing multiplayer PvE content, and during the Nexus with Friends event you’ll earn double Renown when grouping up for expeditions, adventures, and dungeons. Is friendship magic? Who knows, but there’s safety—and Renown—in numbers.
Once you’ve saved up enough Renown and are ready for a shopping spree, visit Renown Vendors Agent Tetch at Fates Landing in Illium, or Sergeant Syrrus at Academy Corner in Thayd. These vendors are also beamed directly to your housing plot via hologram for instant access and gratification. With the right amount of Renown you can buy costumes, dyes, décor, mounts, pets, toys, and more.
Your Guild can also unlock access to Flasks that will increase your rate of XP or Reputation gains, or even boost your Run Speed (to name a few). Check the Guild Perks tab in your Social panel for details.
Nexus with Friends runs from September 16 at 2:01am PDT until 11:59pm PDT on September 19. So group up and get ready to maximize your Renown!
Redmoon Boon Store Update
Red Side of the Moon

Everyone, Dominion and Exiles alike, could use a little marauder pizazz to spice up their homes—especially if that pizazz is a new bar! With the Redmoon Décor Pack you can put the finishing touches on an interstellar bar that’s good to rest an elbow or two on.
A Rave Between Your Legs
We’re not quite sure why this pumera is translucent and all digital-y and stuff, but it’s freaking awesome! Imagine yourself running across the surface of Nexus, people stopping what they’re doing to stare and wonder what that neon-explosion of cool is running toward them. Now stop imagining: the Hardlight Pumera is available right now!
Experience the pure unadulterated fun (and we assume radiation) at your own risk.
Hoarding with Elegance
Every good adventurer has sack upon sack of spoils, utilities, equipment, shinies, and the odd pile of animal claws and pancreases. Now you can increase your maximum storage potential with the Elegant Holding Pouch 17-slot bag. Carry all the things—perfect for the hoarder on the go!
Super Dee-Duper!
It’s time for Madame Fay to swap up her available mounts, and the purple variant of the Retrosaur is now in stock and available to the fortunate among you. As a reminder, this update replaces the yellow variant in the Madame Fay Fortunes. The green variant will follow in approximately two weeks, after which time all three color variants will be available until the next full Fortune inventory refresh.
