Sorry for the lack of news, we are still working on options and menus, which are boring stuff that aren't that exiting to post. Nonetheless we decided to share the overall progress on those.
The gameplay and screen sections are almost complete:

Only two sections are left; the sound settings, where players can adjust volumes for musics, sound effect and announcer voice, as well as turning it off or on. We may add a sound test there as well.
And then, the most time consuming and very important button mapping settings. Here is a screen of the eventual menu:
With this out of the way, we can finally start working on the story mode.

Hey there pilots!
I'm back with some updates.
Stage 6 is complete. Only some very minor tweaks left. Here's a short gameplay video:

As for what to do next, the plan was to immediately start working on the story mode. However, we thought that we should rather work on things that can be applied to the demo, so everyone can enjoy and test them.
With this approach, we decided to start working on the final menus/options first.
Here's the first options screen:
Now we'll be working on menus for every option category.
We'll try to keep things optional as much as we can; like screenshakes, announcer voice, visible hitboxes, death slow motions etc.
And, btw, something people always suggested, we'll add button mapping as well.

Some quick update on the progress:
Stage 6 is almost complete, like really complete. Which means, it's time to start working on the story.

Work on the 6th stage gameplay started today. Around 40% of the stage is done.

Hi there fellow pilots!!
Here comes some update about the actual game progress:
Right now the game has 5 full playable stages, with bosses/ mini bosses and all.
The 6th stage is almost complete; enemies behavior is coded, the boss is coded as well and the stage scrolling is ready. Maybe I'll just create a mini boss before putting everything together.

Once I'm done with the 6th stage, I'll pause work on stages (only 1 or 2 left) and then start on the story mode, which will be in the style of a visual novel that plays between stages, offering dialog choices and therefore leading to different endings.

(Disclaimer: the background is indeed painted by me, but it belongs to the game Phantasy Star Online 2 and I'm using it only as a place holder to test the visual style).
