Hi, Birders!
We’re thrilled to introduce a new game mode in Wingspan Digital - Automarazzi!
Automarazzi is a cooperative experience where human players play together against a common opponent - the Automarazzi.
The Automarazzi make a fortune selling photographs of interesting and rare birds to bird tabloids and television shows. They couldn’t care less about the impact of their fumbling and stomping around the birds’ habitats.
You and your fellow bird enthusiasts unite to stand against this evil photographer. Your mission: to outsmart the greedy Automarazzi and protect our feathered friends and their habitats! Work together to outscore your opponent and enjoy Wingspan Digital like never before!
The Automarazzi mode brings you an entirely new exchange system to manage resources with other players and help each other in the game. You can give away bird cards, and take eggs from other players. If you play with the Automa’s Hoard variant, you can additionally give away food. You can do it anytime during your turn, but remember: these actions have their costs!
To help you navigate through the new rules, and give you quick access to your knowledge, with this update we’re introducing another new feature - the Automa Rulebook!
It’s a comprehensive guide to help you navigate through every Automa variant, including newly added Automarazzi, and maximize your strategy. You can access it in the Automa menu, and throughout the game against any Automa variant - including the Online Challenge.
It’s also available for everyone for free!
The Automarazzi comes as a part of the Oceania Expansion but it’s available for everyone in the Online mode.
We hope you’ll enjoy Automarazzi mode with your friends or solo, and discover a new way to challenge yourself. Share your scores with us wherever you can!
The update is live now, introducing a bunch of bug fixes as well, so remember to update your game!
With this update, we also introduce a bunch of fixes, see the full patchnotes here:
- Automarazzi mode added in offline (through Play > Automa > Game mode > Automarazzi) and online (Online > Automarazzi)
- Automa's Rulebook available in the Automa game setting menu and while playing the game at the top left of the screen
- Updated Automa's background
- Hoard tokens visualized on Automa's background
- New portrait for Automarazzi
- Updated Automa's settings
- New icons for Automa's difficulty presets
- Settings for a new game stay saved after starting the game or coming back to main menu
- Reworked Pileated Woodpecker, Western Meadowlark and Lazuli Bunting powers - now they can be activated even when the player does not have egg slots available but opponents/teammates do
Fixed:
- Automa's bonus card partially covered by UI on some screen ratios
- GameEnd powers drawing bonus cards showing the same selection of cards when activated one after another
- RoundEnd powers not selectable in overview after playing a bird using "Play another bird" RoundEnd power.
- Some predators and Southern Cassowary not activating their powers in some cases
- Common Moorhen and Short-toed Treecreeper returning discarded resources after activating their power
- "There's always a bigger bird" achievement not unlocking

Prepare Yourself! Cozy Quest is Coming!
Hello Birders!
We are happy to announce that Wingspan will be part of Cozy Quest by Secret Mode!
During the event, you will not only be able to get your hands on a variety of cozy games, but also learn about upcoming titles, watch playthroughs and listen to interesting interviews about this wholesome genre. Each day of the festival will feature a different topic related to cozy games, so every day will be an occasion for new adorable discoveries.
If you need more coziness and warmth during this autumn season, be sure to check out Cozy Quest! The event will run from November 14 to 18.
Online Server Issue - October 9
Everyone,
Unfortunately, we have encountered an unexpected issue with the Online servers this morning, causing problems with server connection and, as a result, loss of multiplayer games.
Games that started before 11:17AM CET have been affected by this error and unfortunately, we are unable to bring them back. We are very sorry for this inconvenience.
We just introduced a fix so this problem won’t happen again in the future.
We ask for your understanding regarding this very unfortunate incident.

Double Karma Event is back!
Hi, Birders!
As we promised last week, we are here to share a real treat with you!
We would like to announce that the Double Karma Event is back!
Starting tomorrow, September 13th, points awarded for completed Online games will be doubled. You can enjoy the event until September 24th, so there’s plenty of time to pump up your scores!
The event will start at 12PM CET and will be preceded with a short Online maintenance.
The Online maintenance will start at 10AM CET, and as with every online maintenance, please end all your matches before and start new ones after the works are over.
We hope you’ll have double the fun with your games!

With this patch, we continue our work to improve Wingspan and to bring you the best experience we can.

Check out the patchnotes below:
- Fix for a card not returning to the player's hand and locking the discard slot when undoing a Forest or Grassland bonus conversion.
- Fix for Round End and Game End bird powers not activating in the overview.
- Fix for birds played on two slots not giving the player the choice to play them on one or two slots.
- Fix for Rufous-Banded Honeyeater not activating Spangled Drongo's power.
- Fix for Magpie-Lark returning discarded eggs at the end of power activation.
- Fix for Cockatiel's activation incorrectly counting as predator's success if a predator was tucked.

Happy Wingspan Anniversary!
It’s hard to believe that our digital adaptation of Wingspan is already four years old!
We would like to thank you for all the love and support we’ve been receiving from you through all these years. Your feedback means the world to us and it truly inspires us to make more great games for you!
Since the premiere of the base Wingspan game in September 2020, we have released two main expansions - European and Oceania, and two decorative packs - Seasonal Decorative Pack and Woodland Wonders Decorative Pack. We have started with Steam and made it to GoG, mobiles, and with the upcoming release on PlayStation on October 11th, Wingspan will be available on every major console.
Our team, which originally consisted of seven people, has also grown significantly. We are so proud of our 26 brilliant and talented teammates, 16 of which are currently taking care of Wingspan in many different ways. We couldn't have done this if it wasn't for your support and love for the game.
To celebrate this lovely occasion we have prepared a special something for you, dear Birders - a unique Wingspan Anniversary Background!
It will be available for you to enjoy from September 10th to September 24th.
Speaking of feedback, we also have a small request for you.
As it’s already been four years since the release, we would love to know the “current” you. We have prepared a short survey to get a better understanding of your needs and expectations - we would be super grateful if you could find a while to send us your answers!
