Winter Wastelands 1.1.3 Update is out!
The Winter Wastelands 1.1.3 Update came out on February 22, 2022, and the game has been free (no longer $4.99) since February 27, 2022. Below are some of the features included in this update and a link to a previous community announcement post explaining the game's price change. Thank you!

Features:
1. After 3 seconds, the stamina bar reloads
2. Increased invincibility frames
3. Made The Knight's sword destructible to crystal projectiles
4. Made vines easier (only in easy-mode)

Winter Wastelands FREE-TO-PLAY after this month!
Starting on one of the last days at the end of this month, Winter Wastelands will no longer be available for purchase on Steam and will instead become Free-To-Play. However, the soundtrack will remain up as a way that people can still buy it to support me (the solo developer behind Winter Wastelands) and the game itself. There are several reasons as to why this is happening, some personal and some business-oriented, but I will try my best to explain some important notes.

1. For the several dozens of people that have graciously purchased the game from over 10 countries around the world, thank you very much!!! Thanks to your support I have recovered the original cost of putting the game up here on Steam so please know that your support does not go unappreciated.

2. One of the main driving factors behind this move was to grow the player base. So to people that enjoy the game, I highly encourage sharing it with others after this month, especially now that there is no financial barrier to getting the full game experience.

3. Finally, the way this is going to happen is that the 1.1.3 update will be released before the price change will occur (the update will probably come out a couple of days from when this is posted). The 1.1.3 update will have small but important changes like a refreshed stamina system and a small increase in invisibility frames. The goal would then be to set the price change between February 26 to the 28th.

Winter Wastelands Soundtrack Now Available for purchase!
The Winter Wastelands Original Soundtrack from solo developer Michael Haapasaari is now available for purchase on Steam for $2.99! The soundtrack includes 23 original songs and short tunes composed for the game.

1.1 Update Adds Easy Mode
The Winter Wastelands 1.1 Update adds an easy mode to the game. Easy mode puts a smaller emphasis on combat and exploration in order for more people to play the game in its entirety. However, there will still be the normal mode in order for players to play the game how it was initially released. Enjoy!
