Control Function Overhaul

Hey everyone!

We've just launched a rather important update though its not gameplay related-- we've overhauled our controller support. We're now using a brand new controller API: this one is more fitting for the type of game that Wishmere is.

We've long recognized that the majority of the issues in Wishmere are controller support related and we apologize for that. We've worked for nearly over a month to redo the ENTIRE controller support for the game.

One of the key features we've worked on is unknown controller support, that now better recognizes and remaps controllers of all makes / brands. This should hopefully fix all the controller related issues that have previously been plaguing the game.

Although, there may be a couple of bugs in there that we've missed. If there is a bug that you've encountered, do let us know here and we'll work on it.

Paragon Ascension: New Mode and New Taunts!


Hello all! We've just launched our latest update to Wishmere, and it's called Paragon Ascension!

We've added a new mode called Paragon Battle, a boss battle where you can fight against Elreed at his full strength. The mode is for players who love a challenge and for more advanced players. He's designed to be a boss that's akin to secret bosses in RPGs (think Omega Weapon in FF7) or action games, so he's a little tough (OK, he's very tough)!

If you beat him, you'll get a Keepsake + Taunt of your choosing for any character you wish, so give it a go and go grab some taunts! As he's a little difficult, it'd be interesting to see how players go about beating him. We'd be very interested to see some of your fights against him.

Also, we've unlocked all the previously exclusive seasonal palettes for all the characters (Christmas, Lunar New Year & Halloween), added 2 new taunts for all the characters, so there's plenty things to unlock in this new mode! UPDATE: We have just unlocked the previously exclusive seasonal versions of stages. Players should be able to play them in all modes, including Base of Darkness.

Combat, Boss & Additions Update. +Bug Fixes


Hey everyone,

A nicely packed Wishmere update is here! Thanks to player feedback, we've taken note and made several changes to the game. Our goal with this latest update is to make the game way more welcoming to new players and players who aren't so familiar with fighting game and beat-em-up mechanics.

In the new update, bosses can now enter hit stun and be knocked down, once their superarmor has been broken. The armor is refreshable but this should make the combat of the game more coherent (you'll need combos to break the armor).

We've also made changes to the mechanics of the game to make it easier for newer players to feel welcome and powerful. We've also added in a quick tutorial in the actual gameplay of the game for players to jump right in and learn how to play without going to the tutorial mode.

All in all, we hope the fun of the game shows itself sooner now with these changes!

Lunar Update & Bug Fixes

The Lunar New Year is here and we've launched some color palettes and fixed some nagging bugs!

Lunar New Year Costume Colors



Limited-time New Year costume colors for all the characters. You can unlock these colors permanently per character by clearing ANY Special Match base in Base of Darkness mode!

You can find a list of the bugs we've fixed in the Change Long thread. The Lunar New Year themed mini-content will run till February 19 2018!

Winter Update and Happy Holidays!

The seasonal winter holidays are here! To celebrate, we've just dropped festive themed content!

Holiday Ice Stage - Ice Celebration



Roll around in the festive snow. This stage replaces the Ice Wasteland stage for a limited time.

Holiday Costume Colors



Limited-time Holiday costume colors for all the characters. Thanks to some feedback from the community, we've decided that you can now unlock these Holiday colors permanently: before the Holiday period is over, clear the 'Water is Stiff' base in Base of Darkness mode with a character of your choice! Completing the base with each character will unlock the color for that character. There's no limit, so you can unlock the colors for all the characters!

As per usual, we've also fixed some bugs here and there, based on what's been reported. You can check out the listed bug fixes in the Change Long thread. The Holiday themed content will run till January 2, 2018 (just past the New Year), so do have fun! If you managed to unlock the colors before the last day, you'll have the unlocked colors for good!

Trick of Treat - Halloween Update

Halloween is upon us and what better way to celebrate with a scary makeover for one of our stages?

Pumpkins, cobwebs and spooky pumpkins and other goodies.

We've also got some exclusive Halloween costume colors for the festivities. Every character gets some Halloween costume flavor.

Base Change


As a request, we've also made a slight change to the 'Warriors of the Winter' Hard difficulty base in Base of Darkness mode. As requested, we've enabled 30 skill points to be awarded within the first 2 rounds of the 'Warriors of the Winter' base, so that you can play through the whole base with lots of skills upgraded. We're trying the idea out to see if it works, and if it works we might even migrate it to a permanent base in Base of Darkness.

We've also squished / fixed some bugs and made some changes to some hitboxes. You can read more on the Change Log thread. The Halloween update will be up until November 3, after which, the stage and costume colors will be gone, so go try them out before it goes!

Wishmere Soundtrack DLC and Soundtrack Edition bundle is now up

You can now get the Wishmere Original Soundtrack as a DLC or pick up the Wishmere Soundtrack Edition, which comes with the game and the original soundtrack at a discounted price!

Wishmere is now fully released

Wishmere is now fully released!

Now that Wishmere is in it's fully featured version, we want to highlight that Wishmere can be played a variety of ways; as a single player game, versus or co-op. We've got modes and content for all three modes of play, allowing you to enjoy it as a solo experience or with friends. With a focus of modes, let's go through what is different from our Early Access version:


Story Mode


Explore the story in an over 2 hour story campaign, with in-game cutscenes and dialogue.



Free Mode


Play with friends up to 4 players and fight through the stages, with enemies lurking in every corner. Confront a boss at the end of every stage.



Versus Mode


Throw down with up to 4 players locally. Big combos, freeform playstyle are what it's all about.



Base of Darkness Mode (with 35 challenge maps)


35 challenge maps with Skill Tree upgrades and even an Endless mode for the survivalist in you.



Practice Mode


Like other fighting games, the Practice Mode is robust, allowing for creativity and toggling of settings and situations. Definitely for the lab / combo monster.



Tutorial Mode


Goes through every element of the game, no matter how basic or detailed. After the whole tutorial mode, you will know the ins-and-outs of the game.



Unlockables (7 taunts per character)


7 unlockable items that come with a free taunt, each with it's own set of requirements for an unlock. Comes with some lore too.



13 colors per character (+1 exclusive one for Early Access buyers)


With some fun colors that are nods to fighting game and video game history.

Wishmere has a Release Date: September 26!

And here we go! We've been working hard and now we're happy to announce: Wishmere is set to be released on September 26, 2017!

Here's a quick rundown of what's going on as we head towards September 26:

  • Wishmere will be releasing on PC / Mac / Linux. We're unable to add the Steam store platform indicators for Mac and Linux right now due to Valve's policy. It will be added on launch day.
  • The current version offered on our Early Access store is not the fully-realized version. However, getting the Early Access version of Wishmere before release date will still get you the full release version, set to release in just short of two weeks.
  • We're also looking at getting a nice little Steam bundle up for sale, which will include the game + the official soundtrack done by Zack Parrish.




The full version of Wishmere will feature:

What's in Full Release, plus Early Access thanks

Hey everyone. We'd like to inform everyone that close to the finish line. It's been a long but awesome 2 years of development for Wishmere.

So, what new features are going to be in the full release? Along with all the current features in the Early Access version, these are the new features. Read on!

Free Mode



Free Mode is like Story Mode but can be played co-op with up to 4 people. You'll get to upgrade your skills and take down enemies and bosses across 7 stages. Each stage has their own 'personality', from saving students to inputting a secret code. Some stages even have (small) secrets!

Story Mode



Story Mode is a single player campaign that explores the story of Wishmere. The character you end up playing for a stage depends on the narrative of the story.

Training Mode


Now with fully featured settings, including dummy settings and input display.

Additional gameplay mechanics


You can now tech recovery from being floored to being airborne with invincibility, similar to Blazblue. Also, Invalid Throws have been implemented to prevent 'jailed' opponents, who are in blockstun, to be thrown by normal throws.

Base of Darkness Mode



The challenge map mode of the game. Includes a total number of 35 bases, including new bosses (like the Wishmere as bosses).

Tutorial Mode


Every gameplay element of the game broken down as concise as possible. Updated to include the new gameplay mechanics.

Unlockables



As you play, you can unlock Taunts (7 taunts per character, tied to Keepsakes) and Keepsakes (which are little trinkets that explain some lore).

13 colors for each character, including some fun nods



From 7 colors in Early Access to 13 for full release. Who doesn't like colors?

Steam Trading Cards, Badges, Emoticons, Achievements

Early Access Color Exclusives



And as a thank you to the Early Access players, all Early Access players will all get an exclusive color for all 7 of the playable characters. The exclusive colors will be included with the full release of the game for those that got Wishmere during Early Access. Though, this applies to anyone that picks Wishmere up from now till the day before date of release, so everyone can get it on with some exclusive color action.
