Wow, what a crazy week! ๐คฏ Between 31st October and 7th November, we broke all of our own records...
Over 600,000 unique players played Witch It during this week. ๐ At it's peak, we had over 200,000 unique players in one 24 hour period!
During this week, we peaked at 18,000 concurrent players across all platforms, beating our previous record of 4,971 back in December 2022! Please note that Steam Charts won't show non-Steam players.
While this amount of traffic was exciting, it was also extremely challenging. Witch It is our first game, and we've never had to prepare for such a high influx before, so this was a huge learning experience for us. Fortunately, we have patched up the holes and are now stronger than ever! ๐จ

In the past 24 hours, we've had over 80,000+ unique players open Witch It across all platforms, and hit our highest-ever concurrent playercount at over 17,000+! ๐
To keep up with the huge influx of new players, Witch It is currently in "Overflow Mode". Overflow Mode aims to let as many players into the game as possible by limiting some functionality of the game. ๐

We feel Overflow Mode is necessary to ensure as many players as possible can play Witch It over the weekend and limit further server crashes. We aim to keep Witch It in Overflow Mode at least until the end of the weekend, but may extend it further if it remains stable.
Your progression and items you have earned previously to Overflow Mode are safe, and will be accessible again once we exit Overflow Mode. Levels earned in Overflow Mode will not be saved.
โ ๏ธ DLC Packs will not work in Overflow Mode. If you have bought DLC, it is safe and you will be able to access it again once we leave Overflow Mode.
While this is not the most ideal solution, we would like to assure you our team is working tirelessly on maintaining the servers. We've never experienced such large numbers before, and so it's been a huge challenge for us to keep everything stable! ๐คฏ
We plan to extend our ongoing events (Dreamland and Halloween), and we will compensate all players with crafting ingredients in the next few weeks.

Server Maintenance
We're currently working on a fix for the current server issues that are preventing players from connecting to Witch It. These issues are due to an influx of almost 10,000 concurrent players in just a few hours across all platforms.
We're working hard on a fix and we will update here as soon as possible once the issues are resolved. Thank you for your patience! หluaqห

Collect these four very rare Witch items through Halloween crafting (explained below)!
How do I obtain Halloween items?
Opening Witch It during the Halloween 2024 event will grant you 40 "Gloomkins"! A Gloomkin contains a random Halloween item (including Halloween items from previous years), which can only be opened by combining them with "Haunted Candy". ๐ฌ
To earn Haunted Candies, fill up the Item Cauldron with 250 experience points. You can see the item cauldron fill up at the end of the round, on the level up screen.
Haunted Candy has a 60% chance of being earned on any Official server once the item cauldron is filled, but must be earned on specific Halloween maps: Sleeping Rose Cemetery, Cursed Ruins, Grunewald Library or Grave Gulch. If you're lucky enough to earn one, head back to the main menu and press 'Halloween Event' to combine it with a Gloomkin!
Every Halloween 2024 item earned through Gloomkins are tradable and craftable even after the event is over. If you use up all your Gloomkins, you can craft more by combining 5 Haunted Candy together! ๐ญ Note: Haunted Candy can only be obtained in Official servers.

Never made a map before? Don't sweat! ๐ฆ Witch It's Creative Mode is easy to pick up and learn. Give it a shot by pressing "Play" then "Creative mode" in the main menu. Who knows - you might find out you're a natural architect!

In the courtyard, each segment brings a different season to life, complete with themed props and structures unique to that time of the year. Seamlessly travel between each area by using the portals located at the centre of each seasonal zone! ๐

The Witch Tower
Venture into the mystifying Witch Tower at the centre of the courtyard. Hide up high and out of sight of hunters - the unpredictable magic infesting the tower provides the perfect cover from even the most talented opponents! ๐ฎ
The Castle
Take cover within the castle's beautiful architecture and furnishings, using balconies and rafters to outsmart the hunters! Escape quickly through the corridors, or via the huge double doors leading directly into the Autumn zone. ๐ฏ๏ธ
70+ New Props!
Adapt to the surroundings in Dream Valley Castle by transforming into any one of the 70+ new props scattered across the map. Transform into various weaponry, potions, or even disguise yourself in Knight's armour! Blend in effortlessly with the seasonal zones by switching into bushes, beans, or one of the many secret props tucked away out-of-sight! โ๏ธ

Creative Mode QoL
We've made a bunch of useful quality-of-life changes to Creative Mode:
Change your camera speed by scrolling your mouse wheel.
Save a selection with ALT + [NUMBER]
You can select the previously saved selection by pressing the corresponding number once.
Centre the previously saved selection by pressing the corresponding number twice.
Move your camera downwards by using "C".
Moving props around using the gizmo now follows your mouse speed (no more repeated dragging)!
In addition, we've added many more material overrides to many of the Dreamland structures - for example, towers placed in a desert map will look different to towers placed in an island map. You can also manually set the material variant using Edit Mode! โ๏ธ
48 New Skins!
If you're running around Dream Valley Castle, please come properly dressed (we don't want to upset the King)! Dress up as the marvellous King himself, or an enchanted fairy that blends in with the seasons... or even one of the many horses (don't forget to attach a horn)! All skins can be earned through event crafting, explained below. ๐งต

How do I craft Dreamland items?
Opening Witch It during the Dreamland event will grant you 30 "Jewellery Boxes"! A Jewellery Box contains a random Dreamland item, which can only be opened by combining them with "Dreamy Fluff".
To earn Dreamy Fluffs, fill up the Item Cauldron with 250 experience points. You can see the item cauldron fill up at the end of the round, on the level-up screen.
Dreamy Fluff has a 50% chance of being earned on any Official server once the item cauldron is filled, but only if you are currently playing Dream Valley Castle! If you're lucky enough to earn one, head back to the main menu and press "Dreamland" to combine it with a Jewellery Box!
Every Dreamland item earned through Jewellery Boxes are tradable and craftable even when the Dreamland event is over. If you use up all your Jewellery Boxes, you can craft more by combining 5 Dreamy Fluff in the event screen. Note: Dreamy Fluff can only be obtained in Official servers.
You can also receive the new items through: - As random drops from filling up the item cauldron at the end of a round. - Trading with other players (we recommend using our Discord server to find traders).
Dreamland Event Icon
Collect the limited-time "Dreamland Event" icon by playing Witch It during the event season. At the end of the Dreamland event, this icon will never return, so make sure to pick it up before it disappears! โ
DLC Rarity & New Sets!
With the introduction of our new DLC rarity, we will be releasing two new DLC sets:
Introducing the Time Keeper, and Moon Sorceress! โฐ ๐
These sets will be released within the next few weeks, and purchasable as a bundle or seperately via the Witch It Steam store page! โ๏ธ
The Time Keeper and Moon Sorceress will be permanently available, and are not tradable or smashable.
