New menus with plane stats and changes to ambient sounds
We have updated the menus to include plane stats and a representation of the rotating aircraft. It is now also easier to hop into your friends Hansa W.29 as a gunner.
We are adding more and more ambient sounds and effects. In this latest version we have added a spatial gliding noise to airframe and changed the ambient effect in clouds and fog.
Various bug fixes and niceties include changes to player hands when acting as the gunner.
Graphic and performance improvements
Better lighting on ocean Better gun tracer and impact with terrain and water Improved explosions More detail on terrain New bomb drop mechanism for VR wiith gamepad (look down and right to be ready for drop) Use F11 to toggle mirror render on Desktop PC Improved rendering performance
You can now bomb the boat
The boat now receives splash damage from the bombs
Boat can be sunk with machine gun
The boat can now be sunk by machine gun fire.
Couple of minor bug fixes - such as hiding the hands if not used.
Various updates include multiplayer gunnery positions on a/c
This version adds:
1. New pilot head models
2. Rear machine gun is guarded against shooting your own a/c. This is similar to the way you can't shoot your own propellor.
3. New aerodynamic improvements to Hansa
4. Joining as a gunner in multiplayer =====================================
Once you have begun hosting or have joined a game, go to the in-game menu and select the gunner icon.
Use Select or Return to cycle through the available aircraft.
Hansa-Brandenburg W.29 rear gun can be now aimed
We've updated the rear gun of the Hansa to follow the main pilots look direction.
This takes some getting used to but it's a great defence to use against an attacking Sopwith.
Note, two people cannot fly in one aircraft. We are working on this...
Improved water landings on non seaplanes
We've spent a lot of time on the buoyancy models for the Sopwith seaplane and Hansa W.29, so we've updated the standard planes to allow more realistic splash downs.
Hansa aerodynamics change
We've changed the flight model to the better matched W.29 Hansa - this had lower HP but also lower weight and a similar takeoff run to the Sopwith seaplane
Hansa-Brandenburg W.33 now added to the game
The Hansa-Brandenburg W.33 was a German two-seat, single-engined low-wing monoplane floatplane which first flew in 1918.
Enjoy flying this seaplane but be aware its take off distance is longer than the Sopwith seaplane. You'll need about 110kph to get airborne next to the red base - and beware the stronger waves out to sea if you put more fuel onboard.
Lighting improvements
Removed specular from the water where it is in shadow. Improved cockpit shadowing.
