Announcement and Discount! - Fragmented Reality : Inception

While I know not everyone loved this game, I tried hard to deliver the goods; I think early on, the crashes were distracting, and then, the economy was too generous.

Either way, I've been busily working on (and yes, I do this in my own spare time and it doesn't pay, it's just for you) the REAL Fragmented Reality Experience and in support for that, I've dropped the price of this game to 99cents (trying to figure out how to make it free, don't know if i can since it's a greenlight).

I'll post a video soon here, maybe tonight, to give you a hint of what it looks like.

It's a completely new gaming experience!

FINALLY FIXED DEFEND MY HOME

Tiny little issue with GeoLocation detection, and since I'm the only guy on this, well, sorry it took so long.

Where shall we go from here?

This game has always been about you: the players. I’ve not communicated much lately because I have been heads down on the Fragmented Reality piece, which I’m excited to show you my progress on very soon - maybe tonight, buy my Tango device is dead, and it drains battery while you develop, so I have to wait..

But before I do, I wanted to get some direction. First, realize, I do this for fun. And, it is only I. The meager dollars I get from sales will never pay the raw expenses, much less the time I have into this (so please tell your friends to buy it!!) While I had some help on the tower models, and a goodly amount of help from Digital Rune on some tough stuff (and boy those guys are smart, but they get paid), it is otherwise little ole’ me who has built this entire game.

So, the question is, if you were me, (from your perspective), where would you like me to spend my time?

1) Lordy, too many bugs, please fix the bugs first especially this one (fill in the blank)
2) Great game, but horribly unbalanced, I mean I wish you would just make (fill in the blank) happen
3) Hey buddy, time to make this game better – please add monster effects, I mean thanks and all for introducing the backwards firetruck, but until it shoots water and puts out the Fire Tower, who cares!
4) Dude, that Fragmented Reality stuff is where you need to spend your time.

Finally, special call out to my brother Chris who has been helping promote. Check out the Facebook page and sign up for the Twitter feed (if that’s what you do, I’m so lame to this social stuff).

YES RELEASED!!! But do please read these notes :)

Ok, let's be super honest. I have developed this game on my own, with a great bit of effort - feel free to critique because I try to respond quickly to bugs as well as recommendations.

OH BOY
And yet, the day I released, I somehow messed up and posted a version that was about 5 months old. Very sorry to those that purchased and deserved more, but hat has indeed been fixed, so please, if you were disappointed - TRY AGAIN :)

Do realize that this is "Part 1 of 2" of the full Fragmented Reality experience (for which I am happy to share I just recently secured the trademark). Part 2 is the continued engagement with Google to deliver a truly, immersive experience with the Google Tango device. So Excited!!!

I also introduced a new monster : the fire truck, but I pulled back on the functionality so it wasn't quite ready (you will indeed see the fire truck, but I made it drive backwards by design). Just as recently I released combo tower effects (i.e. Fire Tower and Oil Tower work very well together), I am also introducing enemy effects via the fire truck which will eventually douse the flames of the fire towers. This was in response to my most harshest critic with whom I've engaged to help me improve the game.

I am one guy; one developer who has created this game for you to have fun with; if 100,000 of you buy it, it wouldn't even come close to the time and money I have put into it, so I beg you, please just have fun with it. That is what it is for :)

Good News!!! Almost Ready to Release

There are still a handful of crashing bugs, mostly around upgrading towers to quickly, but I do invite you to check out thew experience!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUHiQOJFOMk

1. Levels, monsters and towers have been balanced well (we think)
2. Shadows have been introduced and now the whole game feels better :0
3. Rocket Tower now is much better and more effect and *physics are now a benefit* (we hope)
4. Dual tower effects are now in play (check the end of the new sample video where a fire tower lights the monster on fire, but then the water tower puts it out)

Hints
Don't forget to double-click on an enemy to take control: then you can use AWSD to drive them around : also you cannot destroy the home while in enemy control

While you are starting a new game, hold the "D" key down and select "New Game", you'll get 100,000 and all tower access and 100 monsters)

Known Bugs:
Steam Overlay still not working (coming soon)
Clicking tower upgrade too quickly causes crash

In new video:
Note at the end of the video, the duality of the attack; in this case the fire tower sets the enemy on fire, but the water tower puts him out

Have you tried commandeering an enemy?

Just double click on an incoming enemy, then use AWSD to drive around.

Steering is shaky :)

New update - bug fixes

Thanks to community feedback we're able to fix issues, and we hope to fix them quickly. Some fixes here include:

-adjusted enemy speed (hopefully to avoid spin outs)
-removed joint from drag/drop (no longer throw towers around, though no longer -drop them accidentally while they are swinging)
-fixed round begin / round end issues
-added close button to wave (in case we really didn't fix round begin/ round end issues)
-modified zoom out to allow for a larger view of the area
-fixed please wait dialog to be customizable so the user knows more of what's going on
-resized round control end so the wording fits without wrapping

You should get an automatic update soon.

Released!!

I'm so excited we finally released! Yes, it might be a little bumpy, which is why we are in early release.

This game is the foundation for Fragmented Reality, a technology we've been working on with Google. If anyone is interested in participating in that effort, please send me an email entitle :Tango (patd@hobbisoft.com)
