The latest game version is almost ready for beta playtesting!
What new content can I expect in the closed beta (and also in the main game beta branch)?
- The car dealer is now your point of contact if you want to buy vehicles (and later also rent them) - but you need a driver's license (depending on the vehicle) to drive it.
- The talent system (the business branch) is now built into the game, in which you can unlock different skills and levels to get better conditions in all possible areas as well as driver's licenses for the different vehicle types.
- Trucks can now also attach trailers to give you the opportunity to transport even more goods at once - you can even have a reversing camera built into your truck to make coupling easier!
- Products (and shelves) must now be purchased from a local store and then transported to the respective stores on pallets.
- Product pallets can now be transported using the previously tested trucks and vans.
- Shelves can now be set up exactly by using the new menu to set where which product should be.
- The bank is now open and offers you up to 3 credits every day! (if you haven't accepted a loan yet)
- The rival market is now part of the game, customers can now also shop there.
- The new tutorial allows new players to understand the game as easily as possible and has been completely redesigned.
- We worked a lot on the game's performance to offer the best possible gaming experience, especially on older devices (minimum requirements) - even if you use more than the "Low" setting.
Start der ersten Closed-Beta!
We have started taking applications for the Closed-Beta.
The Closed-Beta is free to play, so everyone that gets lucky, can try our game.
If you are lucky and get accepted, you can play our game in the beta version, however, we ask that you report every bug that you encounter, please report them at our discord.
The approving process is completely randomized, we don't have any influence on it. If you are accepted, you will receive a notification via email.
This beta is not playable forever, but if we launch another Closed-Beta and you were already accepted, you can test it again without having to apply.
If you bought our game, you can always play our Beta-branch, which contains the same state as the Closed-Beta at all times without requesting nor waiting for it.
When our Closed-Beta is ready, we will announce it's start on our Discord as well as on Steam.
The full release is being postponed.
As stated in the title, we need to push the release back.
We are working hard to provide World of Retailing with frequent updates - as you could read in our last announcement, we are going to release plenty new content.
Due to these updates, we are pushing the final release back. This way, we will have enough time to check everything that we add.
However, we don't let you down: As announced on our Discord, we have launched a beta-branch for World of Retailing in which you can always test our latest updates, as well as reporting bugs in it so that they are fixed before the state is pushed into the release branch.
Inside the Beta-Branch, you will find frequent updates (usually every 2-3 days). The beta is fully compatible with the current release-version, so you don't have to worry about your save-games.

We would like to inform you about the next big update.
What will this update include?
- Sabotage against the competition. [e.g.: spreading dirt around the shops, spreading rumors around town, etc.]
- Competition to be eliminated that will regularly sabotage you.
- Products that you can buy from the competition [e.g.: a cell phone to report crimes, energy drinks to temporarily increase running speed, etc.]
- A talent and level system.
- An indicator on the map to check the "health" of a shop. [Stats like: estimated sales per day, aggression towards you, reputation of the store]
- Advertising posters in the world that can be used for marketing.
- Spying by and against competitors.
- You can manually adjust the prices of your products.
- Random street events through which you can get money and items. [Quests, NPC Interaction, Robbery]
- Products are no longer put into the inventory immediately, instead they are either delivered [with a delay, at an additional cost] or picked up.
- An office complex in which there are several offices. [among others: player office, office for suppliers]
- A health department that regularly visits all shops and, if necessary, requests cleaning.
- A new employee management system through which employees can be hired and promoted.
- Opening hours for the shops, which can be adjusted.
- Changed amount of NPCs in the city depending on the time.
We can't give you any information about when this update will be released as it is [obviously] very big.

Little Hotfix - V0.3.2
The new prices for specific regions have been approved!
Added - The cops blocking the road towards the rich region now have a rest animation instead of a T-pose.
Changed: - The money stealing chance had its development value (95%) which basically caused each NPC to pay less than they should, it now depends on the personality of the NPC itself and can vary between [b ]0% to 90%.
- The NPCs now have a 20% chance to visit a random shop instead of 10% (it could still be one you don't currently own).
Fixed: - NPCs could get stuck in the shops and never actually pay. - The "MegaCube" had a wrong name ("Playbox 4").

We want to inform you, that the previously announced update is now live!
What does this update contain?
- A new Townhall, in which you can get licenses for side businesses and mange your taxes. - Collectables across the map which contains money. - A Mini-Map aswell as a Live-Map [default Key: "M"], meaning: you are able to see npcs walking on it. - NPC Interactions now take affect on the npc. - Side Businesses are now included (Hot-Dog) - Updated NPC-Models. - Several visual bugs have been fixed. - Over 40 new Items to sell [Electronics, Toys, Food] - 2 new Markets that can be rented and bought. - A Basic Tutorial to get you started. - Translations for every new part of the game.

Big upcoming update!
Hello everyone!
As you have probably already seen, our release date has been pushed back a bit, this is due to the following update that we want to finish by then! - don't worry, the wait will be worth it!
What exactly does this update include?
Good question!
- New NPC models (about 20 new models and animations for them) - A new rich district, with particularly rich NPCs, lower theft rate and a much friendlier environment! - Collectable bags where you can find money! - A small tutorial to get you started, to make it easier to immerse yourself in the game. - Side trades that bring in passive money. - A town hall where you can get licenses for side trades. - A skill tree through which you can unlock new products and improvements, sabotage your rival or do marketing!

Some Bugfixes and more.
Bugfixes - It was possible to duplicate Items with the Hotbar of the players Inventory.
- Whenever the player redefined the Render-Distance Setting, the Shadow Quality Setting had changed aswell.
- The base amount of Shop Items (1) had changed when the player had this item in its inventory.
- After reloading the game, the Shop couldn't detect Items in the Hotbar which resulted in multiple stacks (the Hotbar stack and a new one in the Inventory) when the Items were bought again.
- On some locations the player was not able to jump even if he should have been able to do so.
Changes
- The default volume was lowered (Music-Volume and SFX-Volume).
- The gravity has been increased, the players jump height has been increased a bit aswell.

- The Shop-Sign UI now has a close button.
