Onslaught: Season of the Azure Pegasus: Mid-Season Update

Commanders!

We have been keeping a close eye on the latest season of Onslaught. Many of you have already started your journey through our competitive game mode, and there is still plenty of time left to become a Legend! However, we have noticed some minor issues that need adjustments in order to improve the experience for everyone.

The mid-season patch will affect the following features:

 • Vehicle Role Skills
 • Prestige Point System
 • Earning Rating Points
 • Rules for Creating Platoons

Changes to Vehicle Role Skills

Role Skills are a crucial aspect of the game mode and greatly influence the vehicles used in battles. Based on our observations, we need to weaken some of the more popular choices and strengthen the less utilized ones in order to create a more diverse range of vehicles and tactics.

The following Role Skills have received an update:

Medium Tanks

Fury

As of now, Assault Medium Tanks appear too effective in situations where they manage to force a close-range battle, leaving virtually no chance for their opponents. Reducing the gun reload bonus at level 3 and shortening the skill's duration should cool them down a bit.

 • Gun reload bonus was reduced from 25/30/40% to 25/30/35%.
 • Skill duration was reduced from 15 s to 12 s.

Inspiring

We would like to see more vehicles in the Versatile Medium Tank role in battles given the bonuses they provide to the team.

 • Bonus to the crew major qualification level was increased from 15/25/35% to 17.5/30/42.5%.

Fire Cover

The role of Sniper Medium Tanks is now particularly popular for capturing Points of Interest, but after, they are in no hurry to return to the team. Reducing the amount of damage they cause from a distance should encourage them to be more active in battles.

 • Stun time was reduced from 0/6/10 s to 0/6/8 s.
 • Damage caused was reduced from 75/150/250 HP to 70/135/225 HP.

Tank Destroyers

Second Wind

Support Tank Destroyers have finally received their share of attention, albeit by being included in a list of rental vehicles. Even in the hands of not the most experienced player, however, these vehicles turn out to be quite effective, which is why their Role Skill is more demanding in terms of activation time.

 • Duration of the "Acceleration" part was reduced from 8 s to 6 s.
 • Amount of restored hit points was reduced from 150 HP + 35/65/85% to 75 HP + 35/65/85%.

Straight Ahead

Certain vehicles in the role of Assault Tank Destroyers were weakened in the recent update, which naturally affected the effectiveness of the mode. We strengthened their Role Skill in the following ways:

 • Engine power bonus was increased from 25% to 30%.
 • Bonus to module repair speed was increased from 15% to 30%.
 • Reload time reduction when receiving a shot was increased from 4 s to 5 s.

Minor Adjustments to the Prestige Points System

We continue to closely monitor your feedback regarding the operation of this system while simultaneously making small adjustments to the logic of its operation. This update aims to increase the value of player damage by reallocating points from categories such as blocked damage and HP loss.

 • Changes were made to the system for accruing Prestige Points.

Changes to Rating Points Distribution

This season, a fairly large number of changes were made to the rating system of the mode, such as the appearance of qualifications, changes to the number of Ranks and Divisions, changes to the size of Divisions, and more.

Taking into account the information collected, and based on the results of the first three weeks, we decided to make a set of small changes to the logic for accruing and losing Rating Points.

 • Changes were made to the Rating Points system.

Changes to the Rules for Forming Platoons

We are increasingly seeing cases of high-ranking players abusing the Super Platoon system to earn Rating Points, so we are reinstating the cap on the maximum rating difference between players. The change should not affect the majority of players while simultaneously complicating such fraud.

 • Maximum rating difference between Super Platoon players is now 1,500 Rating Points.

We are sure these updates will improve the experience for everyone participating in the Season of the Azure Pegasus. You still have plenty of time to climb the Ranks and earn fantastic rewards before Onslaught ends.

Good luck, and roll out!

Gates and Starters

You can earn two types of Starters for completing event missions and Progression Stages and for defeating the Blitzträger auf E 220. Starters are necessary for activating both the Engineer's and Harriers' Gates, which are filled with valuable loot.

Harriers‘ Starters are rewarded for completing event missions and progression milestones while playing in Harrier Squad vehicles. They are used for the Harriers’ Gate with the following reward items:

Engineer’s Starters are rewarded for completing missions while playing in the Blitzträger auf E 110 and progression milestones, and they are part of the special event bundles. They are used to activate the Engineer’s Gate with the following reward items:

The most exciting and valuable rewards from the Engineer’s Gate are random Tier VIII and IX Premium and reward vehicles that come with a Garage slot. They include these three brand-new warriors:

 • NEW! The KJPZ TIII Jäger, a Tier IX Premium German tank destroyer, is a nimble mobile sniper with great gun handling and accuracy. Similar in appearance and layout to the Waffenträger auf Pz. IV and the Grille 15, already in the game, this TD also shares similar characteristics with them. The Jäger can't boast any significant armor as it focuses on shooting and mobility.
 • NEW! The Object 283 is a reward Tier IX rear-turreted Soviet medium tank with a high DPM. This tank has an unusual layout for a medium tank with rear turret placement. Despite its similarities to the branch of Soviet sniper medium tanks with the K-91 up top, its characteristics are closer to those of the Object 430. It has a strong front hull and turret armor, as well as impressive thick sides strengthened with screens.
 • NEW! The Jagdtiger Prototype, a Tier VIII Premium German assault TD, wields a powerful 128 mm gun. This modification of the Jagdtiger is equipped with the 12.8 cm Pak 44/1 L/55 gun. The general concept of the vehicle is the same as that of its more powerful version: unimpeded destruction of enemy vehicles with the help of its excellent gun.

 • T54 Heavy Tank
 • K-2
 • CS-52 LIS
 • Object 274a
 • M-IV-Y
 • ShPTK-TVP 100
 • Strv 81
 • ISU-152K
 • FV1066 Senlac
You have a 2% chance to get one of these tanks when activating the Engineer's Gate. Most importantly, you will receive vehicles that you do not have in your Garage yet.

On top of that, the Engineer's Gate has a chance of dropping 10 Random Battles in the legendary Waffenträger auf E 100*!

*10 rental battles in the Waffenträger auf E 100 may drop no more than five times per account.

The Engineer's Gate: How It Works

 • When a vehicle drops from the Engineer’s Gate, a slot in the Garage is credited first, and then information about it will be displayed in the in-game Notification Center.
 • If you receive a vehicle that is already in your Garage, it will be replaced by another vehicle from the above list that you don't already have in your Garage.
 • If you already have all the vehicles from the list, you will be compensated the cost of the dropped tank in gold.
 • If you have sold a Premium vehicle from the above list and it can be restored using the in-game Vehicle Restoration tool, it may drop from the Engineer's Gate at the standard drop rate.

Guaranteed Vehicle Mechanics

If you spent 49 Engineer's Starters but still did not receive a Premium vehicle, then with the 50th activation of the Engineer's Gate, you are guaranteed to receive a random Premium tank that you don't have already from the list above, as well as a Garage slot.

If you already have all the vehicles from the list in your Garage, then the guaranteed vehicle mechanics will be disabled.

After the end of the event on October 9 at 12:00 (UTC+3), all unused Keys for playing in the Blitzträger auf E 110 will disappear, and the corresponding number of Gates will be activated automatically. All items from them will be automatically credited to your account. All event vehicles will be deducted, and all XP earned in them will be moved to the MS-1. All Collection Items, rewards, and loot from the Gates remain with you permanently. You will be able to play your battles in the rented Waffenträger auf E 100 until October 15 at 07:00 (UTC+3).

Any bundles that you sent as gifts but that were not accepted by their recipients will be returned to your account.

Meet Sparks and Ricky—New Members of the Steam Community!

Commanders, welcome two new members of our big tanker team!

Sparks and Ricky will appear in our articles here on Steam Community Hub from time to time, sharing some tips, jokes, thoughts on ongoing events, and more. These two are quite a pair...Sparks asked us not to go into too much detail, though, as she would like to introduce herself on her own.

So, we’re just going to give you two quick pieces of advice before you meet them: don’t call Sparks a newbie, and don’t show Ricky any cookies if you have them. Just for your own safety.

Heyo, Commanders!

So... I’m Sonia, but friends usually call me Sparks. I like to think that it’s all because of the charming sparkle in my eyes… but I’m afraid it’s my, ehm, not-so-calm temper that is the actual reason. In any case, I like it, so Sparks it is.

To be honest, I’m not a fan of long intros and boring character-building childhood stories. Well, I could go on a 15-minute rant about how I got my first Ace Tanker badge and how it changed my life forever… but come on, with time you’ll get to know me, and I’ll get to know you, so let’s just skip that part for now, alrighty?

This armoured devil here on my shoulder is my buddy Richochet, or just Ricky for short. Don’t even ask me how I got hold of an armadillo... though, I think, you will hear that story at some point. And don’t get fooled by his cute look - this little beasty is tougher than a Maus.

Hey, Ricky, could you at least pretend to be polite and wave your tail or something, while I’m introducing you?

We’re going to hang around here from now on, looking after you (kind of). I have some tips to share and some jokes to tell... and Ricky just wants some cookies. He loves cookies.

I guess that’s about it, really. Well then, congrats to us on joining your Community!

Sparks and Ricky will see you again soon, Commanders!

NEW MECHANICS

Both sides of the conflict have been preparing for this showdown. The Blitzträger auf E 110 is now equipped with new Hyperion tech enabling it to do massive damage to multiple enemies. The Alliance has added one more tank type to their roster, which now lists four powerful machines; there are additional abilities allowing them to do splash damage and slowly regenerate HP.

Plasma obtained by the Harriers when a Generator is overloaded now enhances the power of their shots and abilities. There are three Generators on the battlefield at any moment, and each can be overcharged right after you deal with the Sentinel bots protecting it. Players will also meet opponents of comparable skill in battles, and the rental Waffenträger auf E 100 now comes with a fixed four-perk crew.

TO THE FULL GUIDE

GATES AND REWARDS

During the event, you can obtain lots of valuables from different sources, with Harriers’ and Engineer’s Starters being the most desirable prizes. Each Starter type is used to open their respective Gate.

Harriers’ Gates can hold vehicle customization, credits, days of WoT Premium account, Personal Reserves, and more. Engineer’s Gates contain especially valuable items, such as more battles in the Waffenträger auf E 100, assorted customization elements including the Harriers’ 3D styles, gold, credits, Personal Reserves, Demounting Kits, Crew Books, and Premium vehicles, including new and very rare ones. You can replace the rewards you receive with credits (Harriers’ Gates) or gold (Engineer’s Gates).

Starters of either type are awarded for completing some combat missions and Progression Stages, plus Engineer’s Starters also come as gifts with special in-game Store packages available from September 25 until October 9.

REWARD VEHICLES

12 Premium and reward vehicles can be obtained from Engineer‘s Gates. That includes the CS-52 LIS, the ShPTK-TVP 100, the M-IV-Y, the Object 274a, the T54 Heavy, the Strv 81, the ISU-152K, the FV1066 Senlac, and the K-2.

There are three more machines that deserve particular attention. The KJPZ TIII Jäger, a Tier IX Premium German TD making its debut, is a nimble mobile sniper with great gun handling and accuracy. The Object 283, already known to the community, is a sleek Tier IX rear-turreted reward Soviet medium tank with a high DPM. Another interesting visitor is the Jagdtiger Prototype, a Tier VIII Premium German assault TD wielding a powerful 128 mm gun.

GOLDEN BLITZTRÄGER AUF E 220 HUNT

Playing as a Harrier during the Waffenträger: Projekt Hyperion event, you can encounter a special version of the boss adversary, the Blitzträger auf E 220. The slightly different name of the vehicle and the special color scheme with a touch of gold signify that you are facing a special opponent: one of your favorite content creators or a Wargaming employee. Defeat a golden Blitzträger, and you (and every Harrier on the team) will get an Engineer’s Starter, plus some bragging rights.

THE PLOT THICKENS

Waffenträger: Projekt Hyperion continues the story of intrigue, betrayal, and covert operations. Last year, the Alliance’s plans to acquire the dangerous tech developed by the notorious scientist and engineer Max von Krieger were thwarted by a gifted daughter of his, Ermelinda. This time, the Harriers’ superiors have decided to fight lightning with lightning, enlisting the help of her elder sister, Hannelore. The latter has improved the tactical potential of their vehicles, while Ermelinda has been busy working on the devastating Hyperion device.

Does this arms race boil down to mere sibling rivalry, or could some higher motives possibly be involved on either side? Participate in the event and find out! You can also recruit Hannelore as a tank commander (by completing one of the Progression Stages).

THE STORY SO FAR

Join the Fray, Commanders!

From September 25, try it all out: beat the boss and be the boss in event battles, play in the rental Waffenträger in Random Battles, maybe meet a golden Blitzträger, and earn a load of valuable and memorable rewards!

An Excerpt from the Personal Diary of Ermelinda Jung

These Alliance hounds aren’t learning from experience. They took quite a beating from yours truly the last time, and they’re still preparing for a rematch. What are they hoping for? They must be completely incapable of basic logical thinking. I mean, what are the chances for a different outcome? One side of this equation (an inequation, to be precise) is a dull, rigid, bureaucratic structure under the mask of a secret international cabal. The other is a blooming and ambitious scientist and engineer with a proven record of dealing with trespassers who want to appropriate her (and her father’s) creations and to stifle the free pursuit of knowledge.

What’s most important, though, is that this daring researcher has just completed what can only be called her magnum opus (as of now). Sure, it’s not a big deal to design and build a powerful generator/projector. But it’s another thing to integrate such a device with a group of low-orbit satellites redirecting the energy beam back onto the planetary surface, and then to install a control module on an armored vehicle. And now, all those sleepless nights working on my passion Projekt and all those countless liters of coffee prepared by my personal assistant have finally paid off! I’ll order this modified Sentinel to bring some champagne from the cellar—Hyperion is fully operational!

A Recording from the Voice Journal of Hannelore Ritter

Some might find it hard to feel sorry for Ermelinda, going for admiration or envy instead: She’s intelligent and beautiful, young but already accomplished. Yet one can have it all and still be a tormented soul. Ambition is a devouring fire fueled by achievements. I know that my younger sister is going through a difficult phase in her life; I’ve been there myself. We child prodigies mature slowly, and a powerful mind can easily deceive itself. I know from my own experience that her quest for unlimited knowledge is in fact a desperate plea for recognition—most of all by our father, whom she (so naively) idolizes. Plus, she’s yearning to be accepted and contributing to a cause. (Note to self: I do realize that that is part of my own motivation for helping the Alliance and tinkering with their suboptimal vehicles. And yes, I like it when they praise my solutions and how the novice operator, Jana, is trying to impress me.)

The real problem with Wunderkinder is that our games can seriously hurt others—and, obviously, ourselves. I wonder if Ermelinda understands the potential of her newest invention. It already qualifies as a weapon of mass destruction, but what’s worse, it’s scalable. It must not end up in some very wrong hands. (Note to self: The Alliance has many hands. How can you be so sure not a single pair is dirty, Hannelore?) Like Ermelinda, I was scorched by my ambition. But I survived—only to be slowly gnawed by uncertainty, the tireless enemy of those in their thirties.

Anyway… First and foremost, I want to save my sister, to save her from herself—and also from the Alliance. They are too frightened by her innovations to discern that, deep within, she means no harm to anyone. (Note to self: Oh my, I do hope I’m not mistaken, blinded by sisterly love.) And the name of that nasty device, Hyperion—I know where it comes from. Papi was very into Norse sagas, but we developed a taste for Greek mythology, and Ermelinda would ask me to read about the titans and the gods every now and then. She could flip through books at an improbable speed, but she preferred to listen to me reading aloud. She even told me this—once.

As it turns out, the balance of power is not as skewed in my favor as I’d assumed. My sources tell me that the Alliance has an ace up their collective sleeve. “A queen of clubs” is a more fitting metaphor, as the trump in question is my own socialite sister. No wonder she gained their trust so easily. If there’s anything she’s better at than me, it’s making useful connections and exloiting them to the fullest. Well, Hannelore, that’s a bit too much. This goes well beyond all that sibling stuff. You aren’t throwing down the gauntlet to me—you’re going against the family and what we stand for! Bring it on. Let them call it “The Duel of the Sisters.”

Update 1.22: British Wheelers, Battle Pass, Onslaught, and More!

Get into the thick of battle with Update 1.22, Commanders!

It brings a lot into the game, including a new branch of British wheeled medium tanks, balancing adjustments to multiple vehicles and maps, Season of the Azure Pegasus in Onslaught, and Season XII of Battle Pass. On top of that, there are Bootcamp Stories, additional WoT Plus bonuses, and auto-flipping vehicles.

Scroll down for details!

British Wheeled Medium Tanks

Six British wheeled medium tanks are entering the game! These agile vehicles can turn in place, are relatively easy to handle with no extra movement modes attached, and also have precise guns. All of the above allows them to excel as mobile fire support, striking opponents when least expected and driving away before the enemy can retaliate.

Rebalanced Maps

Ten maps received various adjustments that improve balance and create additional opportunities for more varied and nuanced tactical approaches. Mountain Pass, Fisherman‘s Bay, Studzianki, and Oyster Bay are the locations that received the most attention. Murovanka, Cliff, and Live Oaks saw significant changes, while Lakeville, Ensk, and Siegfried Line saw minor ones.

Rebalanced Vehicles

We are constantly monitoring the battle performance of all vehicles and community feedback on them, and several categories of vehicles will undergo stat adjustments in Update 1.22. These categories include not only Tier X researchables but also mid-tier ones, as well as a bunch of Premium tanks. Some Tier X reward vehicles will also have their overall efficiency slightly decreased. All in all, the current overperformers will receive a small nerf, while underperforming vehicles’ stats will be improved. The main goal of these changes is to make gameplay more balanced, tactically diverse, and fair.

DETAILS

Onslaught: Season of the Azure Pegasus

The new Season of Onslaught is the first in a year-long cycle of three seasons with nice rewards that include a new Tier X tank—the Hurricane, a Polish medium with an awesome 3D style and a unique crew. The much-loved 7v7 mode also offers an updated ranking system with Qualification battles to define your starting rank, new vehicle customization, new maps, rebalanced Role Skills, and battles without SPGs.

Battle Pass Season XII

Season XII of Battle Pass is Mirny-13 themed. The foreboding setting has defined the story of the hero tankers’ adventures, as well as the looks of progressive styles for the Core Vehicles: the Object 140, the M-V-Y, and the Jagdpanzer E100. Complete Stages and entire Chapters, earn goodies and get even more of them with the Improved Pass, and don’t forget to spend all your Tokens by the end of Season XII, as this one is the last of 2023!

Auto-Flipping Vehicles

Helpless tanks lying on their side or with their tracks up and unable to move will automatically be returned to normal from now on. After a 15-second timer runs out, they will be back on their tracks and ready to battle again.
