Gates and Starters

For completing event missions and certain Progression Stages, as well as for defeating the rare Blitzträger auf E 220, you will receive two types of Starters, which are necessary for activating the Gates. Through activated Gates, you’ll be able to get valuable loot.

You can earn the Harriers' Starters for completing event missions and progression milestones while playing in Harrier Squad vehicles. These Starters will allow you to activate the Harriers' Gate with the following in-game items:

By completing the missions while playing in the Blitzträger auf E 110, you earn the Engineer’s Starters. These Starters are used to activate the Engineer's Gate. You can also get the Engineer's Starters upon completing certain progression milestones, as well as for free with each special bundle. See the infographic below for a full list of available rewards and their drop rates:

The most interesting loot we would like to highlight is a random Tier VIII–IX Premium vehicle with a Garage slot, including two brand-new formidable warriors:

  • NEW! FV4201 Chieftain Proto: A multi-role Tier IX Premium British heavy tank with an incredibly tough turret and decent frontal armor, great gun depression angles of –10 degrees, and a respectable 400 HP of damage per shot. Like its brother in arms sitting at Tier X, this heavy boasts an overall good mix of characteristics, allowing it to dominate in positional battles or win one-on-one duels. Depending on the situation on the battlefield, it can lead the attack and carry the team, absorbing enemy shells, or it can perform as a powerful support vehicle, assisting medium tanks.
  • NEW! KV-4 KTTS: A Tier VIII Premium Soviet tank destroyer. A rear-mounted turret and its similarity to the KV-4 heavy tank leave a mark on the vehicle's gameplay. Low maneuverability and mediocre mobility are counterbalanced by well-sloped frontal armor, so hitting it will not be easy. The KV-4 KTTS is armed with a 107 mm high-penetrating gun that causes 360 HP of damage per shot and has a reload time of under nine seconds. With its rear-mounted turret and 90-degree gun traverse limits (45 degrees to either side), it can successfully use side-scraping tactics at the most effective angles from both cover and open terrain.
  • Chieftain/T95 : A Tier VIII Premium British medium tank. The well-angled upper glacis plate and strong turret armor make it perfect for frontal assaults. It may confidently follow the mediums path on almost any map, and with your armor, you can bully same-tier medium and even heavy tanks.
  • M-IV-Y : A Tier VIII American heavy tank from the Yoh branch featuring the reserve track mechanics. This well-armored tank has good mobility for a heavy and is armed with a menacing 105 mm gun that causes 360 HP of damage per shot.
  • EMIL 1951 : An outstanding support Tier VIII Swedish Premium heavy with a strong turret that features a powerful autoloader. It can easily switch roles between a mighty frontline brawler and a menacing flanker thanks to its good mobility.
  • ASTRON Rex 105 mm : A Tier VIII American medium tank. A universal soldier with a five-round autoloader and 1,600 HP of potential damage!
  • VK 75.01 (K) : A Tier VIII German heavy tank with solid armor and a powerful gun.
  • M54 Renegade : A Tier VIII American heavy tank and a true all-rounder, featuring an easily penetrating sharpshooting gun with 360 HP of damage per shot.
  • Škoda T 27 : A Tier VIII Czechoslovakian medium tank with a fast autoloader gun and great dynamics.
  • Kampfpanzer 07 RH : A Tier VIII German medium tank that sits at the junction of medium and light vehicles. Its 9 cm gun features good stabilization, rapid loading time, and a high rate of fire
  • AltProto AMX 30 : A Tier VIII French medium tank that features the second-highest armor penetration value with a standard shell (232 mm) among all Tier VIII medium tanks.
  • M48A2 Räumpanzer : A Tier VIII German medium tank. It is equipped with a real bulldozer blade that serves as a screen, as well as a fast-firing gun that lets you fire every 7.6 seconds!
You have a 2.4% chance to get one of these tanks when activating the Engineer's Gate. Most importantly, you will receive vehicles that you do not have in your Garage yet.

On top of that, the Engineer's Gate has a chance of dropping 10 Random Battles in the legendary Waffenträger auf E 100*!

*10 rental battles in the Waffenträger auf E 100 may drop no more than five times per account.

The Engineer's Gate: How It Works

  • When a vehicle drops from the Engineer’s Gate, a slot in the Garage is credited first, and information about it will be displayed in the in-game notification center.
  • If you receive a vehicle that is already in your Garage, it will be replaced by any vehicle from the above list that you don’t already have in your Garage.
  • If you already have all the vehicles from the list, the cost of the dropped tank will be compensated with gold.
  • If you have sold a Premium vehicle from the list above and it can be restored using the in-game Vehicle Restoration tool, it may drop from the Engineer's Gate at the standard drop rate. However, it will be compensated with gold instead.

Guaranteed Vehicle Mechanics

If you spent 49 Engineer's Starters but still did not receive a Premium vehicle, then with the 50th activation of the Engineer's Gate, you are guaranteed to receive a random Premium tank that you don’t have already from the list above, as well as a Garage.

If you already have all the vehicles from the list in the Garage, then the guaranteed vehicle mechanics will be disabled.

After the end of the event on October 10 at 11:00 CEST (UTC+2), all unused Keys to play in the Blitzträger auf E 110 will disappear, and the corresponding number of Gates will be activated automatically. All items from them will be automatically credited to your account. All event vehicles will be deducted, and XP earned in them will be moved to the MS-1. All Collection Items, rewards, and loot from the Gates remain with you permanently. You will be able to play your battles in the rented Waffenträger auf E 100 until October 18 at 06:00 CEST (UTC+2).

Key Changes From the Previous Event

  • Instead of facing Max von Krieger, the Harriers will be opposed by his daughter, Ermelinda.
  • The Harrier Squad consists of a team of six random players—a Platoon of up to three players is allowed. They have unlimited respawns in a single battle, but each subsequent respawn will take more and more time.
  • If a Harrier vehicle has a load of Plasma on board and is moving faster than 50 km/h, the Plasma counter will slow down, meaning it will disappear later, giving you more time to deliver it to the Generators.
  • The event progression is now more linear and visually understandable. You will always know which rewards you can earn and how soon you will achieve the next Progression Stage.
  • The Waffenträger: Legacy features a ton of cool rewards, including the Engineer's and Harriers' Starters to activate the Gates containing valuable loot, new customizations, bonds, and even rental battles in the Waffenträger auf E 100! The Engineer's Starters will also be available as gifts in bundles in the in-game Store.
  • The Engineer’s and Harriers’ Gates feature a reward replacement mechanic: You can replace their contents up to three times using a few credits (the Harriers’ Gate) or up to five times using gold (the Engineer’s Gate).
  • You will have the opportunity to rent the legendary Waffenträger auf E 100 to fight in Random Battles when activating the Engineer's Gate (with a certain drop chance), or it will be a guaranteed reward for completing the event's progression.

The Waffenträger: Legacy Event Summary

If you choose to transfer your account to a different region, your event progress and any in-game items received or purchased will be transferred along with your account. You’ll be able to continue your progress from the Stage at which you left off.

  • Battles take place in the 6v1 format on one of three lightly redesigned maps: Murovanka, Siegfried Line, and Steppes.
  • Before entering battle, you can choose one of the sides in the conflict.
  • The Harrier Squad—as either a team of six random players or a Platoon of up to three players (Dynamic Platoons are allowed)—will rush into battle in extensively modified special vehicles: the Foudre (Bat.-Châtillon 25 t), Resistor (Object 140), and Thunderbolt (M48A5 Patton).
  • Ermelinda will face them in the Blitzträger auf E 110, an incredibly powerful tank destroyer manned by a single player. It will be flanked by AI-controlled guards called Sentinels.
  • Each team has its own objective: The Harrier Squad must disable the Blitzträger auf E 110’s protective energy shield and destroy this vehicle within the allotted time, and the Blitzträger auf E 110 must hold out until time expires.
  • To enter battle in the Blitzträger auf E 110, you need to have a Key. You can earn it while playing the game mode or receive it as a part of special bundles in the in-game Store. Keep reading to find out about one more way to get a Key for the Blitzträger auf E 110!
  • Complete special combat missions in the event to get Tokens that will gradually fill the progression meter. The event’s progression consists of 20 Stages. Upon reaching each Stage, you will receive rewards, including cool customization items, Waffenträger auf E 100 rentals to enter Random Battles, bonds, the Engineer’s and Harriers’ Starters, etc.
  • In addition to the rewards that you will receive for completing the Progression Stages, you can also get valuable loot through the Gates. The most coveted prizes are Premium vehicles, including two brand-new ones:

    • FV4201 Chieftain Proto, a Tier IX Premium British heavy tank
    • KV-4 KTTS, a Tier VIII Premium Soviet tank destroyer
These and 10 other Premium vehicles can only be obtained from the Engineer's Gate with a certain drop rate. Plus, you can rent the legendary Waffenträger auf E 100 to fight in Random Battles!

  • The Engineer's Starters are special in-game items you can earn during the event to activate the Engineer’s Gate, which contains cool Premium vehicles and other valuable loot.
  • There are also the Harriers' Starters for activating the Harriers’ Gate, which has a chance of dropping useful in-game goodies, such as cool 2D styles and other customizations, Personal Reserves, days of WoT Premium Account, etc.

Mod Performance During the Event

Popular mods may cause performance issues during The Waffenträger: Legacy. To prevent this from happening, please play without mods or update them.

How to Start Playing

  1. In your Garage, choose the “The Waffenträger: Legacy” mode in the drop-down menu to the right of the “Battle!” button.
  2. Click the event banner in the lower-right corner of the screen.
  3. Click the interactive 3D portal in your Garage.

The Harriers

The Alliance once again went on the trail of the von Krieger family and found the coordinates of this base, where the Harrier Squad was immediately sent. But something unexpected happened… Instead of von Krieger, they had to deal with his daughter, Ermelinda. But this doesn’t mean that it will now be easier to triumph in this conflict!

The Harrier Squad consists of six battle Harriers who will have to take on the extremely powerful Blitzträger auf E 110. You will have the following three special vehicles to choose from in the event Garage:

  • Resistor, a versatile multi-role tank
  • Thunderbolt, a slow tank with decent turret and frontal armor and a formidable gun
  • Foudre, a speedy tank with an autoloader that sacrifices armor and survivability for greater dynamics
Choose one of them and click the “Battle!” button to take on Ermelinda’s incredibly powerful combat monster!

The Harriers can respawn an unlimited number of times in a single battle, but each subsequent respawn will take more and more time. If your vehicle has a load of Plasma on board and is driving faster than 50 km/h, the Plasma counter will slow down. Take advantage of this to deliver Plasma faster and increase your chances of winning!

The Harriers’ Missions

Completing the Harriers’ missions will reward you with Tokens to fill the event progression meter, as well as Keys that allow you to play in the Blitzträger auf E 110. Some of these missions will also reward you with the Harriers' Starters to activate the Harriers’ Gate.

The Blitzträger auf E 110

To ride in the mighty Blitzträger auf E 110, you need a special Key. There are several ways to get them, as follows:

  1. Complete a special mission in Random Battles (available once per account) to earn one Key. The mission will be available on September 26 at 11:00 CEST (UTC+2) and will remain active until October 6 at 11:00 CEST (UTC+2). You need to win five Random Battles in Tier IV–X vehicles and be among the top 10 on your team by XP earned.

  2. Complete Harriers’ missions.
  3. Reach certain milestones of the event’s main progression meter.
Keys will also be available as free gifts in bundles in the in-game Store during the event.

If the queue time to enter battle is too long, or if the number of players in the Blitzträger is insufficient, the matchmaker may allow you to play in the Blitzträger auf E 110 even if you don’t have Keys.

There will be no compensation for unused Keys when the event ends on October 10 at 11:00 CEST (UTC+2).

[expand type="details"]

  • Gungnir - A shot that causes considerable damage to enemy vehicles.
  • EMP Arrow - A shot with a high-voltage charge that slows down and stuns enemies. Resets Generator Overload points of damaged vehicles.
  • EMP Burst - A charge of energy that covers the entire area around the vehicle. Stuns all enemies in the impact area and causes damage to those closest. Passes through all obstacles and resets Generator Overload points of damaged vehicles.
  • Teleportation - Allows the vehicle to teleport to a selected point on the map after some delay. Operating the vehicle is impossible during preparation. Cannot be used while the shield is deactivated.
  • Absorption - By being near a clump of Plasma on the ground, the vehicle accelerates its evaporation. If, at the moment of evaporation of Plasma, the vehicle is within a 50 m radius of it, it will recover a certain number of hit points and accelerate the Teleportation cooldown.
[/expand]

The Engineer’s Missions

Completing the Engineer’s mission will earn you Tokens and the Engineer’s Starters.

Battle Time Mechanics

The initial battle time is five minutes, but this can be increased to up to 15 minutes thanks to the overtime mechanics, which can only trigger once per match. If at least one Harrier vehicle has a load of Plasma on board their vehicle, then the battle time will increase by the time remaining until it disappears, provided that the overtime mechanic has not yet been triggered.

If there are several loads of Plasma in the battle, the load with the most time left will have its time added to the battle timer. If the overtime conditions are met, 60 seconds will be added to the battle time.

So, what happens if a Harrier vehicle has a load of Plasma on board?

  • If overtime mechanics have not been triggered, additional battle time will be added according to the above rules.
  • If overtime mechanics have already been triggered, the timer will remain at zero but the battle will not end.
  • If the Generator is captured, the battle will increase by the same amount of time as during a normal capture.
  • If the player leaves the Generator's capture zone and the battle time expires, the Harrier Squad will lose, and the match will end.

The Blitzträger auf E 220: A Rare-Yet-Coveted Opponent

The Blitzträger auf E 220 has the same stats as the E 110, but it features a unique camouflage pattern so you can easily identify it. This is a vehicle that only certain Wargaming employees and famous content creators can unlock. You may encounter it during special days.

If you and your team manage to defeat the E 220, everyone on your team will receive a special medal and one Engineer’s Starter. Check out the dedicated article for additional information about the big E 220 hunt, including a list of participating content creators and prime hunting times!

Rush Into Random Battles in the Iconic Waffenträger auf E 100!

To complete the event progression meter and grab all rewards available in the event, you should play for both the Harrier Squad and Ermelinda. If you skip several missions or only start playing in the middle of the event, it will be hard to catch up and rent the legendary Waffenträger auf E 100.

Complete special missions in the event battles to earn Tokens that will gradually fill the progression meter. The progression system consists of 20 Stages, and you need 20 Tokens to complete each Progression Stage. On the progression screen, you will see how many Tokens you still have to earn to complete the Stage and grab the reward.

Reaching each new Stage awards you valuable in-game items, including the following:

  • Two unique female crew members with exclusive voiceovers (upon completion of the 10th and 17th Progression Stages)
  • Imposing event-themed customizations (an emblem, decals, inscriptions, and camos)
  • The Engineer’s and Harriers’ Starters
  • Bonds
  • Days of WoT Premium Account
But most importantly, upon completion of the final 20th Stage, you will have the opportunity to rent the legendary Waffenträger auf E 100 for five Random Battles!

You will receive the very iconic, incredibly powerful Waffle, a Tier X German tank destroyer that was removed from the game in 2016. If you have previously played in this formidable predator, your daily statistics for this vehicle will be recorded in all Random Battles. You can also obtain additional Waffle battles as loot from the Engineer's Gate with a certain drop rate.

Platoons with the Waffenträger auf E 100 are not allowed.

You will be able to play your battles in the rented Waffenträger auf E 100 even after the end of the event, until October 18 at 06:00 CEST (UTC+2). After that, this living legend will be removed from your account, and all unplayed battles will disappear with no compensation.

Additional Daily Missions

Two additional daily missions will be available to those who have completed all 20 Stages of the event’s progression. They will award you a Harriers' Starter and a Key to play in the Blitzträger auf E 110.

There will be a special guaranteed vehicle counter in the game client. Each time you get a Premium tank, the counter is reset, and the countdown to the next vehicle drop starts over. After you receive all the vehicles, this counter will become unavailable.

The Reward Replacement Mechanic

The Waffenträger: Legacy event features a reward replacement mechanic, meaning you can replace your current prize. Each reward replacement counts towards a guaranteed vehicle and takes you one step closer to getting a Premium tank.

The Harriers’ Gates can be reactivated up to three times for credits.

  • The first replacement costs 25,000 credits, the second 50,000 credits, and the third 100,000 credits.
The Engineer’s Gates can be reactivated up to five times for gold.

  • The first three replacements cost 250 gold each, and the rest are 500 gold each.
You cannot replace your reward if the Engineer’s Gates drops a Premium vehicle or compensation in gold.

Exclusive Crew Members

Ermelinda Jung and her Alliance antagonist, Villanelle Rapière, are ready to join the ranks of your commanders! Neither crew member is affiliated with any nation, so you can assign them to any vehicle in your Garage. Initially, they can only be recruited as commanders, but you can change their major qualifications using gold.

If you retrain them to any qualification other than commander, their unique voiceovers will no longer be available. But if you retrain them as commanders, their voiceovers will become available again.

The Medals

Achieve at least one victory over the Blitzträger auf E 110 or the Harrier Squad, and you will be decorated with the corresponding medal. There’s a third one, but getting it requires a bit of luck, as you need to defeat the Blitzträger auf E 220.

Special Bundles

There are four special bundles available during the event. These bundles include free Keys that are required to play in the Blitzträger auf E 110. Plus, each bundle contains a set of exclusive event-themed decals to customize your vehicles, as well as the Engineer’s Starters to activate the Engineer’s Gate as gifts.

What Will Happen to the Keys and Starters After the Event Ends?

After the end of the event on October 10 at 11:00 CEST (UTC+2), all unused Keys to play in the Blitzträger auf E 110 will disappear, and the corresponding number of Gates will be activated automatically. All items from them will be automatically credited to your account. All event vehicles will be deducted and all XP earned in them will be moved to the MS-1. All Collection Items, rewards, and loot from the Gates remain with you permanently. You will be able to play your battles in the rented Waffenträger auf E 100 until October 18 at 06:00 CEST (UTC+2).

Join the Harrier Squad or drive the Blitzträger itself, and earn the right to rock out with the legendary Waffle in Random Battles!

Waffenträgers Will Return—Thousands of Them

“Show restraint,” my father often says. “Restraint is class. Restraint fits a decent Jungfrau like a nice modest dress.”

Good old Papi. Maximilian Leonard von Krieger-Witthoffen. Baron zu Ledensburg. He knows very well that I’ll always choose a greasy mechanic’s overalls over the best dress—even an immodest one. Yet he still sees me as his little girl. Sure, he does call me his wild child sometimes (when his monocle is in place, I presume). But, seriously… Wild? I have a degree in engineering! I’m just a bit temperamental and uninhibited. Sorry, not sorry.

My father is of noble birth—and of noble soul. He’s a brilliant scientist, an underrated and misunderstood genius. His exploits are to advance humanity’s knowledge. And yet, the crooks of the Alliance are trying to hunt him down. They dare attack his base and distract him from his work, wasting his precious time. I’m sure it’s all driven by that malicious woman and her personal vendetta against my father. What was her name… Evillanelle?

What’s the point in exercising restraint? Papi showed them mercy several times. They aren’t learning from experience. (And jerry-rigging their uninspired crackling tracked gizmos doesn’t count.) Yet they are so overconfident that they’re about to assault us once again, thinking that the worst-case outcome would be just getting schooled and embarrassed.

Time to change the approach a bit. Add injury to insult. Zap these Harrier pests even harder. And if I hurt some of them… Consider it a sacrifice in the name of science. And if—God forbid—they know about my father’s absence and hope to win against his assistant… Well, they’re in for a ton of nasty surprises.

Papi is too much of an idealist. That’s no wonder: He’s a theoretician. The brain. He devises powerful and magnificent machines. I am different. I’m the hands that build those machines. Hands can be caring—but they can also hit. I LOVE to get physical. And I can hit way harder than my father.

They’re probably thinking they can corner me on my home turf. Really? Ha sparklin’ha. When the Harriers invade my personal space, I’ll send over some presents into their world. Several thousand will do. I was the one who made and fine-tuned mass-produced minion tanks. What they certainly don’t expect is mass-produced Waffenträgers.

Dearest Diary, if only you could think and speak… You’d likely cry in terror (and awe?): “Oh, Ermelinda! You’re about to start some major mayhem! What will your father say once he’s back from his adventures—to see all the sweet, exquisite, delicious destruction you’ve caused?”

Well, Diary, I may be all-powerful and incredibly bright, but I’m still my Papi’s little girl. And lonely little girls are often frolicking about. My experience tells me I’ll get away with this mischief…

As easily as one zaps a bug.

Account Transfer for CIS Realm Players Starts on September 20

Dear players!

Earlier we announced that we would soon be giving all players from the CIS realm an opportunity to stay with Wargaming and continue playing World of Tanks via Steam. Since that announcement we’ve been carefully monitoring your feedback and fine-tuning the transfer procedure to ensure the maximum comfort for all players. We want to thank you for your questions and concerns as it helped us understand which aspects of the transfer need to be improved and which topics should be addressed in this article. Good job, tankers!

Now, we are ready to announce that the transfer procedure will start on September 20, 2022. Starting from this date, the following will happen:

  1. CIS servers will be no longer available on Steam.
  2. When you try to log in to your CIS account, you will be offered the option to transfer your account data to the EU server* and continue playing via Steam.
  3. You will not be able to use your CIS account on Steam until you make a decision about the transfer to EU.
*If you don’t want to transfer your account to the EU server, check the additional information by clicking on this link.

We fully understand that this decision might not be an easy one and you might have a lot of extra questions about the transfer. We will try our best to cover as much information as possible in this article. Let’s dive into the details!

PLEASE NOTE: In this article, we will be using some terms a lot. It is crucial to know what they mean to avoid any misunderstanding:

  • Transfer – the procedure of moving your account data from one realm to another
  • Realm = Region = Server – an entity that holds players’ data and divides players into large groups depending on their geographical location for better performance and social aspects (e.g., CIS, EU, NA, ASIA)
  • CIS realm = CIS region = CIS server – the realm which presently hosts the data of CIS players
  • EU realm = EU region = EU server – the realm to which CIS players can transfer their accounts to continue playing via Steam. Operated by Wargaming.
  • RU realm = RU region = RU server – the realm to which CIS players can transfer their accounts if they don’t want to stay with Wargaming and play via Steam. Operated by Lesta Games.
  • Wargaming Game Center Steam (WGCS) – World of Tanks launcher which pops up after you press “Play” on the game page in your Steam Library.

[/expand]

Transfer: General Information

This transfer campaign has been designed specifically for CIS realm players in order to give them the opportunity to move their accounts to the EU realm and continue playing World of Tanks on Steam. All the other regions remain without any changes (e.g., in terms of this campaign you cannot transfer your account from NA to EU, or from ASIA to NA, etc.).

The transfer allows the player to move their account data from one server to another while retaining all vehicles, purchases, resources, statistics, etc. After the transfer, the original account on the CIS server will be blocked and then deleted in 59 days. During this time period, every transferred player has a one-time opportunity to change their decision (more on that in the FAQ section).

The transfer procedure is available for all players that have an account on the CIS realm.

In order to use the transfer option, you need to have an email address and password added to your World of Tanks account. You can read more about the email binding and its benefits here.

Transfer: The Process

Let’s go through the process of moving your account to the EU realm with the help of some screenshots:

  1. Find World of Tanks in your library, update the game to the latest version, and click Play.
  2. The WGCS window will pop up, telling you that you cannot use your CIS account anymore and you need to make a decision about the transfer.

  3. Click on the big TRANSFER ACCOUNT button.
  4. The system will then check your account data.

    • If you haven’t completed the registration on your account (you don't have an email and password bound to your account), you will be offered to complete the registration in Account Management. This is required to ensure that the transfer process goes correctly and you have access to your transferred account on the EU server after the procedure.

    • If you have completed the registration, you will proceed to the next stage.

  5. The system will then check your account for any possible collisions. At this stage, we have three possible options:

    • You already have an EU account registered using the same Steam account. Since you cannot have two accounts on the same server bound to the same Steam ID, you will be offered to unbind your existing EU account from your Steam ID via Account Management and try again.

    • You already have an EU account registered using the same email as your CIS account. In this case the system will ask you for a new email and password for your transferred account.

    • You don’t have any collisions and you proceed to the next stage.

  6. After you’ve settled any possible collisions, the transfer process will start. Usually, it processes all the data in just a few minutes, but in rare cases it can take up to a couple of hours, so don’t worry if it lasts longer than you expected.

  7. As soon as the procedure is finished, you will get a message that the transfer has been completed, and you can immediately log in to your account on the EU server and play the game!

Transfer: Frequently Asked Questions

General Questions

[th]Question[/th]
[th]Answer[/th]

Will my ping become worse or better after the transfer?
This is a very specific question which depends on a variety of factors, mainly on your service provider and your location. In some cases it might become lower, in other cases it might become higher.

To ensure a comfortable gaming experience for transferred players we will add two new servers to the EU realm:
EU3 and EU4.

EU3 will be in Luxembourg and is recommended for players located in Ukraine and Western Europe. EU4 will be in Kazakhstan and is recommended for players located in Central Asia.

Will transferred players be able to play with the current EU server players?
In short, yes, however, there will be some restrictions.

Transferred players will be playing on two dedicated servers: EU3 and EU4.

It will not be possible to manually choose EU1 or EU2 upon logging in to the game, but you will be able to invite players from EU1 and EU2 into Platoons and play together. The opposite will also be possible: current EU players will be able to invite players from EU3 and EU4 into Platoons. Additionally, after a Platoon is disbanded, the players will stay on the same server.

For example, if someone from EU1 invited a player from EU3 into a Platoon and disbanded it after a couple of battles, the player from EU3 will remain on the EU1 server until they log out or manually switch back to their allotted server.

I play from Belarus or Russia and I want to transfer my account to the EU region. Will I be able to make purchases in the game after the transfer?
You will not be able to pay directly to Wargaming. In order to know if you are able to make purchases directly to Steam, please look at the payment methods that are available in your country on Steam or contact Steam Support.
Transfer Process Questions

[th]Question[/th]
[th]Answer[/th]

[th]How do I prepare for the transfer? [/th]
Generally, you don’t need to do anything, but you can make a couple of actions beforehand to make sure that everything goes smoothly:

  1. Check if you have completed the account registration. If not, make sure to add an email and a password to your account.
  2. Check if you have another account on EU registered using the same Steam account. If yes, then you will need to unbind it from your Steam ID.

[th]How do I transfer my account? [/th]
Check the section above for the full process rundown with screenshots.

[th]What exactly happens during the transfer? [/th]
This is what happens during the transfer:

  • Your account progress is moved to a new account automatically created on the EU server. Note that if you are playing several games on the same account (e.g., World of Tanks and World of Warships), the progress will be transferred for all projects.
  • The new account on the EU server receives a nickname according to the rules.
  • The original account on the CIS realm is blocked and will be deleted in 59 days.
  • If you are a World of Tanks clan Commander, a new clan will be created on EU and all the clan resources will be transferred from CIS realm. The original clan will be disbanded.

[th]Will the prices in the in-game Store become higher after the transfer?[/th]
We will try to retain the pricing principles on EU region at the same level with CIS region.

[th]Will I need to download the game again? [/th]
You will need to update your client, and for that you will need up to 60 Gb of space on your PC.

However, keep in mind that after the update the EU2-client will replace the RU-client, which means that the overall size of the game will remain the same (the game will not take 60 Gb of extra space).

[th]I don’t have an email added to my account. Can I use the transfer option? [/th]
To make sure that the transfer process goes correctly and you have access to your transferred account on the EU server, you need to have an email and password associated with your account. Therefore, you will need to complete the registration (add an email and create a password). After that, you will be able to use the transfer option.

[th]I already have another account on the EU server that I created with the same Steam account as my CIS one. Can I use the transfer option?[/th]
Unfortunately, you cannot have two accounts on the same region bound to the same Steam ID. You will need to unbind your EU account from Steam ID via Account Management. After that, you will be able to use the transfer option.

[th]How many times can I transfer my account? [/th]
You can transfer your account only once.
However, you can also change your decision once. Note that you have a limited time period to change your decision, as in 59 days your original CIS account will be deleted.

How to Use Your XP and Credits

XP and credits makes the world go round in World of Tanks. Use them to transform your in-game experience—spend them wisely and get those new vehicles and upgrades you always dreamed of!

Use of Experience

[expand type="details"]
Vehicle Research (XP & Free XP)

Combat XP collected on a researchable vehicle is used to unlock the next vehicle in its Tech Tree line. Free XP can be added if the required XP amount is not met and can be used to research any standard Tech Tree vehicle.

Module Research (XP & Free XP)

Modules affect a vehicle's characteristics. They need to be researched with XP before they can be purchased. Combat XP collected on a researchable vehicle is used to unlock its modules. Free XP can be added if the required XP amount is not met and can be used to research any module.

Crew Training (Elite XP & Free XP)

Vehicles with Elite status have the option to accelerate crew training. Once enabled, XP earned in battles will not be accumulated but directly converted into Crew XP to improve major qualifications and train perks and skills. Free XP can be directly invested in the training of any crew member via their Personal File.

Experience Conversion (Elite XP to Free XP)

The accumulated experience on Elite and Premium vehicles can be converted into Free XP using gold. The default conversion rate is 25 XP to 25 Free XP for 1 gold, but this can change during specials.

Onslaught: A New Mode to Test Your Skills

  • In this exciting new mode, battles take place with collectible and researchable Tier X vehicles only and in the 7v7 format. You must have at least one Tier X tank in your Garage to participate in the Onslaught mode.
  • The matchmaker will be selecting both allies and opponents for teams based on the mode’s Ranked System. It will take your position into account and find opponents with a similar rating to yours.
  • During the countdown before entering battle, you will be able to select a different Tier X vehicle in the pre-battle lobby or switch to a different set of equipment, shells, and consumables.
  • All vehicles in this mode feature their own combat roles. Depending on your role, you will have a unique Role Skill with three levels of charge. The higher the charge level, the stronger the effect of the skill will be. To upgrade your Role Skill level, earn Prestige Points in battles for performing any useful action. You will earn more Prestige Points for actions that are most relevant to your combat role.
  • By capturing Points of Interest on the map, you can activate Tactical Skills and help your teammates gain an advantage over your opponents.
  • Instead of the classic three-player Platoons, Onslaught features two-player squads. You can also create a team of seven Commanders and fight against an opposing Super Platoon.
  • Onslaught offers two lines of rewards. The first line features a unique progressive 2D style, Dog Tag elements, and more, and is based on your Rank. The second features more traditional, valuable rewards, such as bonds and pieces of equipment, and is based on the number of victories. You'll also be able to earn Battle Pass Points while playing Onslaught.
To make the new mode the perfect place for the best of the best to compete on an equal playing field, we're introducing many new gameplay mechanics. All of them are designed to further enhance Onslaught's competitiveness. Let’s take a look at them individually.

Pre-Battle Lobby

In the pre-battle lobby during the countdown before battle, you can change your selected vehicle. Be sure to prepare it for battle, though—it must be repaired and have a full crew and ammo loaded. You can also select an alternative set of equipment, shells, and consumables. You will also see your vehicle and your allies at the starting positions on the map.

Prestige Points and Vehicle Role Skills

All vehicles in Onslaught have special roles depending on their conduct on the battlefield. During the course of each battle, you earn Prestige Points according to your role and combat performance.

Depending on its role, each vehicle type features a special Role Skill with three levels of charge. All vehicles of the same combat role have the same skills. For example, assault heavy tanks have Field Repairs at their disposal, which, after activation, creates a zone that gradually restores the vehicle's and its teammates' HP within a certain radius. Assault medium tanks can use the Fury skill, which reduces reload time by a few seconds. There are many other Role Skills in the mode, so every vehicle will have the opportunity to better fulfill its purposes on the battlefield.

At the start of a battle, all Role Skills are unavailable. To activate a Role Skill, you need to have at least one level of charge. Perform your best in battles and earn Prestige Points to unlock and improve your Role Skill from level 1 to 3. The higher the charge level, the more powerful the effect of your Role Skill. Upon activation, you spend all accumulated charge. You can reuse your Role Skill after a cooldown.

Prestige Points also affect how many Rating Points you gain or lose, which are needed to advance through the mode's progression.

Maps and Points of Interest

Battles in Onslaught will unfold on the following select set of Random Battle maps:

Some of these maps have been slightly reworked specifically for Onslaught to make the battles more engaging and competitive. We’ve added additional firing and cover positions, passes, etc.

Each map in Onslaught has special Points of Interest called Artillery Headquarters and Communication (Comms) Center. Having captured a Point of Interest, you'll be able to activate a unique Tactical Skill to gain an advantage over your opponents.

  • If you capture the Artillery Headquarters, you can command an Artillery Strike on the selected area, stunning and causing damage to enemy vehicles.
  • Capturing the Comms Center allows you to use Divisional Radar. Upon its activation, all enemy vehicles remain spotted for three seconds.
  • Depending on the map, the location and number of Points of Interest may vary.
  • The Point of Interest capture time is 15 seconds for the Artillery Headquarters and seven seconds for the Comms Center. Only one vehicle can capture a Point of Interest.
  • To reset a Points of Interest’s capture progress, cause HP damage or critical damage to the capturing enemy vehicle. Accordingly, you will lose all capture progress each time you get damaged, and you won’t be able to capture this Point of Interest again for five seconds. However, your allies and opponents can capture this Point of Interest without restriction.
  • If you don’t activate your Tactical Skill, you won’t be able to re-capture the Point of Interest it belongs to.

Fog of War

To make battles even more unpredictable, Onslaught features the Fog of War mechanic. At the beginning of a battle, teams won’t know the location and strength (i.e., vehicle types and models) of the enemy forces until they’re spotted.

Get Ready to Fight in Super Platoons!

Choose to fight solo or create a two-player Platoon with your friend. You can also join a Super Platoon of seven teammates of equal rating and fight against an opposing Super Platoon.

To create a Platoon with your teammate, the difference between the highest and lowest Rating Points value of both players should not exceed 350 Points. If you want to fight as a seven-player Super Platoon, the difference between the highest and lowest Rating Points value among all players should not exceed 490 Points.

Battle Communication

In Onslaught, you will be able to communicate with your teammates and coordinate your tactics via voice chat. This will be disabled by default, but you can enable it with one touch using the "H" key (default) or directly in the mode interface. All players who are in voice chat will be marked with a special icon.

The Platoon/Super Platoon voice chat turns into a team chat upon entering the pre-battle lobby.

If you have not turned off voice communication while in a Platoon, you will be automatically connected to the team chat at the start of the battle.

Compete With Equal-Rating Rivals!

Throughout the Season of the Griffin, your experience and individual mastery will be your main advantages. In Onslaught, the matchmaker will take your position in the mode’s Ranked System into account and automatically find opponents close to your rating. It will assemble teams of equal strength based on their rating gained in Onslaught. As a result, players will clash with each other in intense battles, fighting on an equal playing field to discover who is best.

In Onslaught, the matchmaker evenly distributes players of different Ranks and Divisions. Players who differ by 7 Divisions cannot be matched in the same battle.

Ranked System: Watch Your Mastery Grow!

Set yourself apart from the crowd with the progression system with a rating that shows your performance and reflects the growth of your mastery. The higher it is, the greater your status—and reward!—will be.

The mode’s progression is called Ranked System and consists of Ranks and Divisions. To reach new Ranks and Divisions, you need to win battles and earn Rating Points. Your rating directly depends on your results: The more effectively you battle, the more Rating Points you get for each victory.

You can also lose your earned Rating Points for defeats, draws, abandoning the battle before it ends, or long inactivity in the mode (more on that below).

In total, there are seven Ranks in the mode:

  • Debutant
  • Iron
  • Bronze
  • Silver
  • Gold
  • Champion
  • Legend
The first five Ranks comprise four Divisions—D, C, B, and A—while the two remaining top Ranks—Champion and Legend—have only one Division.

But the most prestigious and honorable is the Legend Rank. Only 10% of the most skilled and persistent Commanders who manage to enter the mode's Leaderboard will be able to reach this elite ranking.

Learn more

Leaderboard and Rank Inactivity

Onslaught will feature its own dynamic Leaderboard in the game client. It will only display players who have reached the two top Ranks, Champion and Legend. The player's position on the Leaderboard depends on the number of Rating Points they have earned. If several players have the same number of Rating Points, the player who has played more battles in Onslaught will take the higher position.

If you are not active in the mode for a certain period, the number of Rating Points you've earned will gradually decrease. This mechanic will only apply to Silver, Gold, Champion and Legend Rank players.

In addition, each battle played in these four Ranks rewards you with a certain number of activity charges. These charges gradually fill your activity bar and cannot exceed 14 charges. Activity charges can also be obtained by reaching a Rank for which the rank inactivity mechanics apply (i.e., Silver, Gold, Champion and Legend). If you don't have any activity charges, you will lose a certain number of Rating Points, depending on your Rank.

Season Rewards

Now, to the most tantalizing topic: rewards! The Season of the Griffin brings two lines of rewards.

The first reward line includes unique status customization items that will spark envy in other commanders. To get your hands on these rewards, you need to advance through the progression.

Learn more

After you play your first battle in the mode, you will get a unique progressive 2D style that can be applied (and then re-applied, if you wish) to any Tier X vehicle. You will immediately receive Level I of this style. As you reach new Ranks or significant achievements in a specific battle or series of battles, your style will gain new 2D elements, such as emblems, inscriptions (after completing special missions available in Onslaught), and camos.

The maximum Level VII style with the most imposing camo is awarded when you make it to the Legend Rank. In total, you can earn up to five copies of the style during the Season of the Griffin.

Reaching new Ranks will also earn you extra exclusive customizations, including the following:

  • Unique Dog Tag elements, such as Engravings and Backgrounds

[/expand]
Plus, players in the Champion and Legend Ranks receive bonds daily as an extra reward.

The second reward line includes valuable in-game goodies (e.g., bonds, pieces of equipment, Personal Reserves, etc.) that you will earn for a certain number of victories in the mode. These treats will be distributed among eight stages. To complete each stage and grab your prizes, you need to win a certain number of battles.

Finally, after playing your first battle in Onslaught, you will be awarded these three 7v7 rental vehicles:

  • FV217 Badger
  • M48A5 Patton
  • IS-4
All rental vehicles are replicas of existing tanks with the same characteristics and properties. They will remain on your account until the end of the Season and will be removed when it’s over.

You'll also be able to earn Battle Pass Points when playing Onslaught.

The Season of the Griffin is approaching fast—prepare your Tier X vehicles, and get ready to prove yourself in thrilling battles!

New Personal Reserves: Simple, Efficient, and Easy to Use

Greetings, Commanders!

Update 1.18.1 will bring a fresh batch of upgrades to World of Tanks. One of these upgrades will be the introduction of reworked Personal Reserves, which are easier to use, simpler, and more efficient than ever before. However, since this change will affect a number of valuable in-game items, we want to share all of the details with you in advance.

Personal Reserves are great assets, but, at the moment, they also have some drawbacks:

  • They are hard to locate and navigate through
  • There are too many types of them, way too many unusual durations (like 4 or 6 hours), and miniscule bonus values (like +10% or +15%)
For these reasons, Personal Reserves too often gather dust in players’ Depots. Instead, we want you to get the most value possible from Personal Reserves with minimum extra effort.

Let’s see what will improve!

Easy to Use

Personal Reserves will have a new access point in your Garage that will indicate which Reserves are currently activated and how much time you have left for each.

The old way of activating Personal Reserves was a bit complicated. You’ll now be able to do it in just a couple of clicks.

The new Personal Reserves activation and management screen will be accessible via the top bar in the Garage. On the screen, you will also see the following:

  • All Reserve types available in the game: Personal Reserves (for Combat XP, credits, Crew and Free XP), Event Reserves, and Clan Reserves
  • The number of Reserves on your account
  • The time remaining for each activated Reserve
You will also be able to purchase Personal Reserves directly from this screen, saving you valuable playtime.

Moreover, you will even be able to activate Personal Reserves when in battle. Just press Tab (or hit the B key) and select a Reserve.

Some might say, “What’s so special about activating Personal Reserves mid-fight? Under the current rules, if the bonus expires while I’m in battle, it will still be applied to the results.” Well, just imagine you roll out with no Personal Reserves activated—just as a warmup—and then the battle goes exceptionally well for you. With the current system, you wouldn’t be able to capitalize on your performance. However, this will change with Update 1.18.1, and you’ll be able to activate Personal Reserves before the fight is over! The bonus will apply to the results of the entire battle, not just what you earned after activation.

On top of that, once the effect of an activated Personal Reserve ends, you’ll get a notification showing the amount of extra credits / Combat XP / Crew and Free XP gained. The notification will also feature a button leading to the Personal Reserves activation screen.

Simple and Efficient

To complement the reworked UI, we reviewed and improved the basic mechanics of Personal Reserves by streamlining them and increasing their efficiency.

  • All Personal Reserves will have the same duration: 1 hour. Your questionnaire answers revealed that most players preferred 1‑hour Personal Reserves, so we hope this change will be well received.
  • There will only be three categories of Personal Reserves: for extra credits, for extra Combat XP, and the combined one for Crew and Free XP. The reasoning is simple: There are only three Personal Reserve slots, and you shouldn’t have to choose which type to leave out when you’re filling in all the slots.
  • There will only be two types of Personal Reserve bonus values: Standard and Improved. Once again, this is for simplicity and transparency. We believe that playing World of Tanks should be about having fun on the battlefield, not about estimating comparative values of various Reserves in the Depot.
In the table below, you can see the entire range of new Personal Reserves:

[th]PERSONAL RESERVE TYPE[/th]
    [th]FOR COMBAT XP[/th]

    +100%
    +300%
    +100%

• Standard Reserves will be awarded for taking part in in-game events and activities. Improved Reserves will come from in-game purchases or as part of in-game Store packages.
  • With Update 1.18.1, it will be technically possible for Standard Personal Reserves to have an expiration date (after which they disappear from the player’s account). Please note that we will not be using this functionality in the foreseeable future. Here’s what it means for players:

    • Improved Personal Reserves will not have expiration date.
    • Converted Personal Reserves will not have expiration date. This applies to both Standard and Improved Personal Reserves.
    • Battle Pass, Well-Deserved Reward, Holiday Ops, or any other current and upcoming activities will NOT distribute Personal Reserves with an expiration date anytime soon.

The Principles of Personal Reserve Conversion

As the new Personal Reserves all have a duration of 1 hour, and given that there will only be two bonus values per type (Standard and Improved), we will have to convert all existing Personal Reserves. With this conversion, the combined value of new Personal Reserves on your account will be greater than or equal to the combined value of old Personal Reserves on your account.

The value of an old Personal Reserve can be defined as its bonus (in %) multiplied by its duration in hours. The value of a new Personal Reserve is simply its bonus (in %) since the new Personal Reserves all have a duration of 1 hour.

Therefore, during this conversion, the value of your Personal Reserves will stay the same or grow. The quantity of new Personal Reserves will always be rounded up, and you will not lose any value during the conversion.

Personal Reserves with a numeric value that exists in the new system but a long duration (e.g., 2 hours) will be converted into the respective number of 1-hour Reserves.
EXAMPLE:

You have seven 2-hour Personal Reserves for +50% to Combat XP. After the conversion, you will get fourteen 1-hour Standard Personal Reserves for +50% to Combat XP.

Personal Reserves with numeric values that do not exist in the new system (e.g., +15% to credits) will have their bonuses “compressed” so that the total value for the player remains the same or increases.

EXAMPLE:

You have two 4-hour Personal Reserves for +15% to credits. After the conversion, you will get three 1-hour Personal Reserves for +50% to credits. Why? One 4-hour Personal Reserve with a bonus of 15% has a value of 60% (15% × 4). As the closest new Personal Reserve bonus value is 50%, you should get 2.4 of the new Reserves (1.2 × 2). This rounds up in your favor to three. With the new Reserve, in 1 hour, you will earn approximately the same number of extra credits that you would earn in 4 hours with the old Reserve.

Personal Reserves for Crew XP and Free XP on your account will be converted into the new combined Personal Reserves for Crew and Free XP as follows. First, the converter will assess the quantity, bonuses, and duration of the Reserves (separately for Reserves with Standard and Improved bonuses). Then, the converter will calculate the number of new combined Personal Reserves that would appear after the conversion of Personal Reserves for Crew XP and Personal Reserves for Free XP. After that, the converter will choose the greater value and add the resulting number of new combined Personal Reserves on your account.

EXAMPLE:

You have eight 2-hour Personal Reserves for +300% to Crew XP and eleven 2-hour Personal Reserves for +300% to Free XP. After the conversion, you will get twenty-two 1-hour combined Personal Reserves for +300% to Crew and Free XP. Why? One 2-hour Personal Reserve with a bonus of 300% has a value of 600% (300% × 2). The total value of eight 2-hour Personal Reserves is 4,800%, and in case with eleven 2-hour Personal Reserves is 6,600%, which is the greater of the two. By dividing 6,600% by 300%, we get 22.

Commanders, we hope you enjoy the reworked Personal Reserves system and UI. Game on!

The Rewards

If you played the previous two Battle Pass Seasons of 2022, you know the drill: Earn Battle Pass Points and complete Stages to receive rewards. Start with any Chapter and switch between Chapters as often as you wish without losing your progress. If you would like more comprehensive instructions or just want to know every single detail about Season IX, check out the full guide.

TO THE FULL GUIDE

The mountain of Battle Pass Season IX prizes is already towering high, but you can make it even taller by obtaining an Improved Pass.

Soon, we will announce all of the improvements we’re going to make to the mechanics and UI of Personal Reserves. But for now, here are the key changes:

  • All Personal Reserves will have a duration of one hour.
  • Personal Reserves for Crew XP and Free XP will be merged into a single combined type. (This also applies to Season IX progression rewards.)
  • Along with the three types of Personal Reserves, there will be two grades of bonuses: Standard (+50% to XP / +50% to credits / +200% to Crew and Free XP) and Improved (+100% to XP / +100% to credits / +300% to Crew and Free XP).
  • Newly-issued Standard Personal Reserves, including those from Season IX Base Rewards, will have an expiration date (one month after Season IX ends), but Improved Personal Reserves will not.
Once the new mechanics are introduced, all Personal Reserves on your account will be converted into the new reserves at no loss of value. Personal Reserves that are collected as Season IX Base Rewards before the implementation of the new mechanics will not have expiration dates after being converted. Moreover, Personal Reserves that come as Improved Rewards will never have expiration dates.

You can expect a dedicated article on the new Personal Reserves mechanics in the coming days.

The 3D Styles

The Season IX 3D styles give the Core Vehicles a cutting-edge appearance, bristling with innovation.

  • The Bernard 3D style for the 60TP Lewandowskiego turns this tough tank into a truly stylish moving stronghold.
  • The Cesare 3D style for the Progetto M40 mod. 65 makes this sharpshooter look even sharper.
  • The Le Vizir 3D style for the AMX 13 105 gives this nimble-yet-dangerous reconnaissance vehicle a hi-tech visual upgrade.

The Cobra

Here comes a very rare reptile that will happily feed on your opponents’ tears. But all jokes aside, this British Tier IX medium tank featuring an autoloader that can be packed with HESH shells has already proven itself in many battles. Get it before Season IX ends! If you already have the Cobra in your Garage, consider claiming some of the other great rewards offered for Battle Pass Tokens, including Tier IX vehicles and trophy equipment.

The Cobra is a tricky tank to master, that's for sure! The ability to deliver crazy amounts of damage (1440 with your regular rounds and whopping 2060 with HE) in just 4.5 seconds may make you think that you can easily outperform any tank on the opponents' team. However, such a "superpower" comes at a cost of a huge reload time and weak armor, so be extra careful while operating this beast on the battlefield. You are extremely dangerous, but extremely vulnerable at the same time.

The Bundles

The in-game Store will offer the following thematic bundles for the duration of Season IX:

  • The Battle Pass: Full Access bundle gives you access to Improved Rewards for all three Battle Pass Chapters.
  • The Battle Pass: Daily Gold bundle also unlocks Improved Rewards for all three Chapters, plus a special mission for gold.
  • The Battle Pass: Reinforcements bundle contains a female crew member and a sequence of missions with Battle Pass Points, bonds, and Crew Books as rewards.
Let’s make our mark on Battle Pass Season IX, Commanders!
