World of Warplanes

Update 2.1.23

Pilots!

On August 16, from 08:00 to 12:00 UTC, the servers will undergo maintenance to deploy Update 2.1.23.

New Aircraft

Update 2.1.23 introduces a brand-new reward aircraft:

  • North American P-51D Josephine, an American Tier VII fighter

This aircraft is a tribute to one of World War II's last surviving combat pilots—the USAF Colonel Joseph Anthony Peterburs. He has flown 49 missions over Europe since 1944, piloting his trusty Mustang named after his beloved fiancée Josephine. On April 10, 1945, Joe was escorting a huge bomber raid toward Berlin when a Messerschmitt Me 262 swooped down on the B-17s, wreaking havoc on the formation and destroying four aircraft. Having an altitude advantage over the "Swallow," Joe dove at his target and opened fire with his machine guns, riddling the wing and engine with bullets. The Me 262 disengaged and withdrew inside cloud cover, and its pilot, famed German flying ace Walther Schuck, bailed out. Over half a century later, during Schuck's visit to the United States in 2005, Joe Peterburs had the opportunity to meet and befriend his former enemy, discussing the details of that short but fateful encounter. They remained close friends until Walther Schuck's passing in 2015.

To earn this warplane, you'll need to participate in the upcoming game event.

Pilots!

New Aircraft

Update 2.1.21 introduces a brand-new reward aircraft:

  • Messerschmitt Bf 109 K-6 Kurfürst, a German Tier VII fighter

This modification of the legendary German fighter truly packs a punch: its armament includes one nose-mounted and two wing-mounted 30 millimeter autocannons that can knock targets out of the sky in one fell swoop!

To earn this warplane, you'll need to participate in the upcoming game event.

Rise of the Kurfürst Event

From May 29 to June 26, the game will host the Rise of the Kurfürst global event. Here you will see the return of the Bomber Escort, Invasion, and Attrition modes. The event will be divided into four stages, and each stage will have two identical phases: the first one will last from Thursday 16:00 (CEST, UTC +1) to Friday 22:00 (CEST, UTC +1), and the second one from Saturday 16:00 (CEST, UTC +1) to Sunday 22:00 (CEST, UTC +1).

Phase schedule for the NA server: the first one will take place from Thursday (17:00 PT / 20:00 ET) to Friday (23:00 PT / 02:00 ET), and the second one from Saturday (17:00 PT / 20:00 ET) to Sunday (23:00 PT / 02:00 ET)

Phase schedule for the NA server: the first one will take place from Thursday 17:00 (JST) to Friday 23:00 (JST), and the second one from Saturday 17:00 (JST) to Sunday 23:00 (JST).

Upon completing personal missions, you will receive supply crates containing many valuable rewards, such as days of Premium Account, gold, consumables, equipment and materials for its enhancement, as well as Hangar Slots, and, of course, the operation order for the Messerschmitt Bf 109 K-6 Kurfürst together with a unique decoration set.

Besides, each stage and phase will have a global goal that you will have to achieve in battles alongside other players. Reaching these goals will double the number of supply crates that you can receive, so long as you managed to make at least a minimal contribution to the mission's overall progress. After the event's active stage is over, you will still have a couple of days to complete the operation's missions and open supply crates.

You can skip several operations or the whole chain by purchasing certificates in the Premium Shop. Also, if the time for the operation's execution has expired, but not all the missions have been completed, you can resume their execution using Tokens.

Bugfixes

Fixed a rare issue that made it impossible to repair aircraft after battle, and therefore unable to enter battles. Affected players will now be able to repair their warplanes and return them into ranks. In case the repair still does not fix the issue – you will need to send the aircraft's crew to the barracks for some much-needed R&R after spending all this time in the cockpit.

In the Depot menu, added indicators for aircraft that can be used to participate in the ongoing event.
